Chapter 29 Cooper Coldson, you are really blind

Chapter 29: Chapter 29 Cooper Coldson, you are really blind

Yolanda Greenwood was particularly speechless.

She didn’t understand why someone who had already moved their luggage away always showed up at her doorstep.

Now she felt as though she had been caught cheating.

"Benjamin, thank you for today."

Yolanda was brief, hoping Wesley Baker would leave quickly.

But unexpectedly, when Wesley saw Cooper Coldson, he took the initiative to greet him.

"Senior, do you remember me?"

He was a year senior to Yolanda and her peers but a year junior to Cooper.

However, Cooper didn’t even give Wesley the time of day and turned to go back inside.

Yolanda silently gritted her teeth and apologized to Wesley repeatedly.

"Miss Greenwood," Wesley began, stopping mid-sentence as if hesitant to continue, "although it’s not my place as an outsider to say this, but..."

He glanced at the door, "You should really make plans for this marriage sooner rather than later."

Yolanda awkwardly tugged at the corner of her mouth, waiting for Wesley’s car to drive away before she went back inside.

"Have you had enough fun?"

Cooper tossed another divorce agreement at her, "Five hundred million. I guarantee it’s the most money you’ll ever get from me, and also more than you could earn in your entire life."

Yolanda flipped through the agreement. This villa, plus five hundred million, Cooper really did spend a lot to get a divorce.

But she just didn’t want to do what he wished.

She threw the divorce agreement back on the table, "Twenty percent, not a penny less."

"Yolanda, don’t push your luck!"

Cooper was beyond furious, seeing her getting so close to that man, they must be nearing some happy event, he thought.

"What’s the matter? Is Mr. Wesley in a hurry? Or does he want to make a fortune following you?"

Yolanda frowned, "So you do remember him, why pretend to have amnesia just now?"

She didn’t feel like talking anymore and walked upstairs.

"I ignored him, and he lost face?" Cooper was so angry he followed her, "Are you going to retrieve it for him?"

"Cooper Coldson, you’re so childish!" Yolanda strode into her room.

Cooper blocked the bedroom door, "Yolanda, I’m warning you, this is your last chance. Sign it quickly, or you’ll end up with nothing."

After closing the door, Yolanda found the irony unbearable.

To marry Melissa, Cooper voluntarily gave up this villa and an additional five hundred million.

How generous!

In reality, what Yolanda truly wanted from the divorce was just this villa, after all, it bore the traces of their life together.

Even if those memories were full of scars and repulsiveness.

The next day at the office, Yolanda went with Jenny Reyes to deliver a sample draft to their client, who was Director Greenwood.

But what she didn’t expect was to find Cooper there as well.

"Director Greenwood, here are the sample drafts, Yolanda worked day and night on them."

Jenny said emotionlessly.

Melissa sat next to Cooper, affectionately looping her arm through his.

"Cooper, let’s look at them together, I told you that entrusting Yolanda with this task would be no problem."

Cooper glanced at the sample draft and then at Yolanda, "Did you draw this?"

"Yes, Mr. Coldson." Yolanda replied professionally, "Ms. Melissa’s request was..."

"Ugly as hell!" Cooper interrupted Yolanda mid-sentence.

"Ah?" Melissa looked troubled, "Cooper, you don’t like it?"

She ran back to her desk and brought over a few more sample drafts, "What about these? I drew them in my spare time, now that we’re short on time, I’m afraid we won’t make it if we don’t decide soon."

Cooper took a glance, "Let’s go with the ones you’ve designed."

"Really? Cooper, you like them?" Melissa looked at Jenny and Yolanda triumphantly.

Yolanda sneaked a glance at Melissa’s so-called masterpieces and couldn’t help but internally criticize, "Cooper, you must be really blind!"

When the two left Melissa’s office, Jenny turned to look at Yolanda, "What do you see in that man?"

"Ah?" Yolanda was momentarily bewildered by the question.

"Forgetting all basic aesthetics, have your artistic senses been devoured by love?"

Yolanda couldn’t help but shake her head with a wry smile.

Jenny led her into the office and handed her a registration form.

"This is one of the top design competitions in the country, our company only has one spot, which I fought for you to get."

Yolanda was moved, "Sister Reyes..."

"No need for any thanks," Jenny was ironically sentimental, "Bring back first place, that will speak louder than any words."

Her gaze fixed on Yolanda, "I know you have the ability."

"Yes." Yolanda nodded firmly, "Don’t worry Sister Reyes, I will give it my all."

"You can work on the competition piece at home, there are too many eyes in the company, I don’t want any trouble to arise."

Jenny emphasized firmly as she knocked on the desk, "Yolanda, I’m putting everything on the line for you."

She didn’t allow Yolanda the opportunity to thank her and shooed her away with a wave of her hand.

For the following ten days, Yolanda was extremely busy with her daytime job and drawing competition pieces at night.

Understanding the importance of the competition, she didn’t dare slack.

Every time she completed a piece, she showed it to Jenny first.

Jenny, with nearly a decade of experience and a keen eye, was almost overly demanding with Yolanda’s work.

Finally, the day before the deadline, the piece was completed to their satisfaction.

"That’s fine, you can upload it yourself when the time comes," Jenny made sure, cautious as ever, "There won’t be any plagiarism scandals, right?"

Yolanda, finding the worry comical, responded, "Don’t worry Sister Reyes, only the two of us have seen this draft."

Jenny laughed, "Sure, putting the blame on me now."

"Sister Reyes, thank you, truly..." Yolanda was genuinely moved.

She hadn’t expected that from an initially rocky start to now being close confidants, her relationship with Jenny had become a mix of both mentor and friend.

"It’s nothing, if it really works out, we’ll have helped each other succeed."

Jenny was in an unusually good mood that day, "If you do win the prize money, don’t forget to treat everyone to a meal."

"Rest assured, Sister Reyes, you can order whatever you want."

Yolanda felt a wave of relief wash over her.

Recently, Lola Gold and Wesley had looked for her, but swamped with work, she had turned them both down.

She texted Lola immediately, saying once she won the prize money, she’d treat her and Wesley to a meal.

That evening when she returned home, Jasmine King met her at the doorway.

Since their last unpleasant encounter, Cooper hadn’t come back.

Probably lost in the joys of his new romance.

"Madam," Jasmine spoke hesitantly, "Your mother came by today during the day."

"My mom?" In an instant, Yolanda was on high alert.

Jasmine nodded, "Yes, she said she was your mother, and since I had never seen her before, she didn’t seem like a liar."

Yolanda glanced upstairs, "Did she go upstairs?"

"Ah?" Jasmine was confused.

Yolanda’s tone grew urgent, "I’m asking you, did she go into my room?"

Before Jasmine could answer, Yolanda’s phone started ringing.

It was Melissa.

"Yolanda, how’s your preparation for the design competition going?"
