Chapter 27: Chapter 27 There Are Really Quite a Few Blind Men

"Looking for trouble, huh?"

Lola Gold was just looking for a place to vent.

She was taller than her stepsister and grabbed her hair, "Today, I’ll let you know how many eyes Hades has."

The two quickly started fighting, and the screams of the stepsister echoed throughout Midnight.

More and more people gathered around to watch the drama.

"Stop fighting, stop fighting," Yolanda Greenwood stepped forward to break up the fight but got mistakenly hit several times by her stepsister.

Neither of the two was easy to mess with, and Yolanda couldn’t pull them apart.

"I’ll help you."

Suddenly, a deep, magnetic voice sounded.

Yolanda turned around and saw a tall, thin man grabbing her stepsister’s hands, "Stop fighting."

Seeing this, Yolanda quickly hugged Lola Gold, "Okay, stop being mad, let’s go."

"Why should I?" Lola Gold clawed fiercely, seemingly not yet satisfied, "They should be the ones to leave!"

When her stepsister saw the man, she immediately changed her demeanor, crying and snuggling into his arms, "Benjamin, I’m so scared, I want to go home."

"Alright, I’ll take you home first." The man gave Yolanda a deep look, nodded at Lola Gold, and then left with the stepsister.

Lola Gold’s eyes followed the man as he left.

"Hey?" Yolanda suddenly remembered something, "Wasn’t that man familiar?"

"Ah? Really?" Lola Gold’s eyes darted around anxiously.

"I remember now." Yolanda’s eyes widened as she looked at Lola Gold, "Isn’t he that senior you had a crush on in college? Something Wesley?"

Lola Gold pulled Yolanda to sit down, muttering quietly, "Wesley Baker."

"Right! It really is him!" Yolanda frowned even deeper, "What’s he doing mixing up with your stepsister?"

"How would I know?"

Lola Gold’s tone was bitter, obviously thinking their relationship was not shallow.

"No way?" Yolanda pouted, "There really are too many blind men in this world."

She ordered several bottles of alcohol, determined to get drunk with Lola Gold.

However, as things cooled down here, a clicking sound came from a not too distant booth.

Athena White, Wendy Bennett, and several other girls had always been regulars here.

Athena showed a photo she had taken to Wendy, "Too bad Melissa missed the drama by not coming."

In the photo, the man and Yolanda appeared quite affectionate, seemingly not just simple friends.

"Send it to Melissa," Wendy huffed, "This Yolanda is really sleazy, hogging Cooper Coldson and refusing to divorce, while playing around outside, it’s disgusting."

Athena immediately sent it over, "Doesn’t that guy look familiar?"

"Wesley Baker, the one who confessed to Melissa in college."

Wendy scoffed, "Just a gold-digger, nothing good."

"Gold-digger and a divorcee?" Athena laughed non-stop, "Such a match."

Melissa Greenwood received the message while dining with Cooper.

Of course, she recognized Wesley Baker and immediately handed the phone to Cooper.

"Cooper, do you remember Wesley Baker from your department? I think he’s the one Yolanda is dating."

Cooper glanced at the phone.

In the photo, Wesley Baker had Yolanda half-embraced from behind.

The two of them looked very intimate.

With a loud "bang," Cooper slammed his chopsticks down.

"Cooper!" Melissa was startled, "What’s wrong? Don’t be mad at Yolanda, I’ll talk to her again. She must be considering divorce since she has someone she loves... I might just agree to her demands."

"Why should I?"

Cooper’s face was very ugly as he stood up to leave.

"Cooper, where are you going? Aren’t you eating?"

"I’m going back now. Tomorrow morning, I’ll take Yolanda to finalize the procedures."

Cooper Coldson clenched his teeth as he walked out, "What face does she have to disagree?"

At Midnight, Yolanda Greenwood was in a bad mood but knew her limits with alcohol, so she didn’t drink too much.

However, she didn’t expect to still end up vomiting until everything spun.

Lola Gold looked at her worriedly, "Yolanda, let me take you home, you really don’t look well."

"Okay," Yolanda nodded, with an apologetic face, "Lola, next time, I’ll treat you to a big meal."

Lola Gold dropped Yolanda off at the entrance of her residential complex.

"I can walk in by myself; the fresh air will do me good."

Yolanda said goodbye to Lola Gold and slowly made her way back to the Coldson Family home.

As soon as she entered, Jasmine King approached her, "Madam, the master has returned."

She smelled the alcohol on Yolanda’s body, "Madam, have you been drinking? I’ll go make you some hangover soup."

"No need, Aunt Jasmine, you go rest."

Yolanda hadn’t expected Cooper to come back so unusually early, but she was feeling too sick to argue with him.

She entered the house and went straight upstairs without giving Cooper a single glance.

Cooper was furious.

"What? Cheating on me can salvage your pathetic self-esteem?"

Cheating on him?

Yolanda stopped midway up the stairs, turned, and looked at Cooper, who had already stood up in the living room.

A married man who was hardly ever home at night had the nerve to accuse someone else of cheating?

She scoffed, "Is Young Master Coldson reflecting on himself?

"Yolanda, I’m not joking around or have the patience to play mind games with you."

He issued an ultimatum, "Tomorrow morning, you must go with me to file for divorce."

"No!"

Yolanda refused definitively.

"Yolanda, what exactly do you want? Money? Fine, just name your price."

Cooper was infuriated by that photo.

All he wanted now was to get rid of this manipulative woman and not let her affect his mood anymore.

Yolanda was truly exhausted.

The DNA test results, combined with having just vomited everything she ate that day, left her utterly drained.

She gripped the stair railing to go upstairs.

"I don’t want to do anything; I just want to get some good sleep."

Cooper’s anger surged to his head.

He took big strides up the stairs, rushing up behind Yolanda.

That photo surfaced again in his mind.

Cooper grabbed Yolanda’s arm, pulling hard, "Today, you must..."

Already weak, Yolanda was pulled and pushed by Cooper, immediately falling toward the side.

Just as she was about to hit the ground, Cooper, with quick reflexes, caught and supported her halfway.

"What are you doing?" Cooper glared, "Trying to fall down the stairs to delay things a few more days?"

Any slight touch of emotion that Yolanda might have felt was instantly extinguished.

She forced herself to stand upright, supporting herself on the railing.

"Cooper, are you truly blind? Can’t you see that I’m not feeling well?"

Indeed, Yolanda’s face was pale, and there were small beads of sweat on her forehead.

Cooper kept his stern face, "Just playing the sympathy card."

Yolanda was about to burst out laughing from anger.

"Cooper, you accuse me time and again of being manipulative, so tell me, what exactly have I manipulated?"

"Your money? Or you?"
