Chapter 240: Chapter 240 That Traitor Confessed to You

After Yolanda left, Brooks Parker called May back.

"Did Aunt Yolanda leave?" Little May asked curiously.

"Yes, she went back to rest," Brooks replied as he patted the little one’s head. "Does our May like Aunt Yolanda a lot?"

"I do, Aunt Yolanda is very gentle and especially nice to May," Little May asked Brooks curiously, "Dad, do you like Aunt Yolanda a lot too?"

"Uh?" Brooks was taken aback, "Why does May say that?"

Little May didn’t answer; instead, she climbed onto the couch and reached for a dust-covered book from the shelf nearby.

Brooks furrowed his brows.

May wiped off the dust on the book, sat down next to Brooks with the book, and opened it, revealing a photo inside.

The picture was of a blue sky, white clouds, green grass, and a group of people running and playing. The only clear face in it was Yolanda Greenwood’s.

Little May looked up at Brooks, waiting for praise.

She had felt a sense of familiarity the first time she saw Aunt Yolanda but couldn’t remember where she had seen her before. A few days ago, she finally remembered.

She had been looking for an opportunity to take a glance at the photo and finally had the chance now.

Brooks didn’t say a word, lost in thought as he took the photo and examined it closely.

The face in the photo was indeed Yolanda’s, and he had been the one who took the picture.

Brooks remembered his feelings at that time; if it hadn’t been for Cooper Coldson, the first girl he would have noticed was Yolanda Greenwood. But reality is always cruel. When he inquired about her, the first piece of news he got was that Yolanda was Cooper Coldson’s woman.

How could he dare to touch her? He didn’t even dare to think about it!

Brooks slid the photo back into the book, "May, this is our little secret, all right? Don’t tell anyone, not Aunt Yolanda, not mom."

"Okay," the little one nodded in agreement.

"Let’s go, change your clothes, and Daddy will take you to eat burgers," Brooks said with a smile.

"Really?" The little one was very happy and immediately hopped off to change her clothes.

Brooks had agreed to Yolanda’s suggestion; if the plan was successful, May would soon be sent to Melissa Greenwood’s side.

Therefore, the time belonging to him and his daughter was running out.

On the agreed day, Brooks took May out again.

"I’ve already made arrangements with Melissa; she’ll be here in a bit," Yolanda and the others were already waiting at the entrance of the home.

"Okay," Yolanda nodded, then said quietly, "Thank you."

"Don’t forget what you promised me," Brooks said, looking past Yolanda to the two people behind her. When he saw Noah Coldson, his expression changed, "Have we met?"

Noah looked uncomfortable, blinked and said, "No, we haven’t."

Brooks was skeptical, took a step forward, then turned back to Yolanda, "By the way, I never asked you, how did you recognize me? How did you know about my relationship with Melissa?"

"..." Yolanda tugged at the corner of her mouth; Brooks was indeed astute.

Seeing Yolanda remain silent and another glance at Noah, Brooks left with May.

Once in the car, Brooks asked May, "Is it okay for May to live with mom?"

"No," to Brooks’s surprise, May refused flat out.

"Why?" Brooks was slightly surprised, "Doesn’t May think mom is very beautiful, like a movie star?"

"Mom doesn’t like May." The little one lowered her head, her voice muffled.

"It’s okay, mom will like May eventually and will be very nice to you," Brooks soothed, stroking her hair.

"But..." the little one continued, "May doesn’t like mom either."

"Why?" This time, Brooks was even more surprised.

May looked up at Brooks, "Because mom is a bad woman, she hurt dad’s heart, made dad very sad, so May doesn’t like her."

Brooks frowned deeper, "Is May lying? When you met mom, you clearly wanted her to like you."

May shook her head, "I did hope mom would like me, but that was to get her to stay with dad, so she wouldn’t think about abandoning May."

The little one plunged into Brooks’s embrace, "May’s favorite person is dad, and May wants to stay with dad forever."

Brooks couldn’t believe it, "But dad always hits you, that’s okay?"

"It’s okay, May doesn’t hurt," the little one said assuredly.

Brooks’s nose tingled, he hugged the child tightly and turned his head to look out the car window.

He understood that the child had been with him since childhood, dependent on him, but with him, she did not have a good life; she had to be with Melissa Greenwood.

On the other side, Noah Coldson and Adam Sterling knew Yolanda was going to confront Melissa and insisted on tagging along.

Once in the room, Yolanda hid the two of them in May’s room, repeatedly instructing them not to come out unless she called for help.

Soon, Melissa arrived and knocked on the door outside.

Yolanda opened the door.

For a moment the two faced each other, and Melissa’s first instinct was to turn and flee.

Yolanda caught her, "Do you really think leaving right now will help since I’m here anyway?"

Melissa looked at Yolanda venomously, "What do you want?"

"To talk."

"There’s nothing to talk about between us."

"I think there is."

"Don’t flatter yourself."

Yolanda smiled, "Fine, if you leave today, I’ll go find Cooper Coldson and have a good chat with him."

"You!" Melissa clenched her teeth in anger, "You’re capable, Yolanda. You’ve learned to threaten people now."

Yolanda shrugged, "I had no choice, you were a good teacher, and I paid so much tuition. Wouldn’t it be wrong if I didn’t learn anything?"

"Heh..." Melissa entered the room.

She looked around, noticing the absence of Brooks and May, "Where are those two traitors?"

"Are you talking about Senior Brother Brooks and Little May?" Yolanda said casually, "They went to the amusement park."

"Senior Brother Brooks?" Melissa clicked her tongue twice and slumped onto the couch, "You’re really chummy with him, huh? Did he confess to you?"

Yolanda frowned unhappily, "Melissa, I found out about everything that happened back then."

"So what?" Melissa was completely dismissive, "Don’t you think it’s a bit late?"

"It’s not too late!" Yolanda said coldly.

Suddenly, Melissa leaned forward with a smile playing on her lips, "Let me guess what that idiot Brooks told you. He said that I ran away with him when I was pregnant back then, and gave birth to Little May?"

"So, I’m not infertile nor barren, and even betrayed Cooper Coldson."

"Did he also say that Cooper Coldson would completely ruin me once he found out all of this, and then what? What will he gain?"

Melissa grew more agitated, "Is that dumbass really ruined from drugs? Did he forget where the money he spends now comes from?"

"If he ruins me, where is he going to get his money, from his mother’s ashes?" Clearly, Melissa was thoroughly enraged.
