Chapter 238: Chapter 238 Senior Brother Brooks, I Want to Talk to You

On the way back, Noah Coldson was clearly preoccupied, constantly looking out the window.

Adam Sterling could no longer stand it, and couldn’t help but ask, "Are you so afraid that Yolanda Greenwood will tell everything to Cooper Coldson?"

Noah Coldson didn’t respond.

Adam asked him again, "Are you afraid that Yolanda Greenwood will personally tell Cooper Coldson, or are you afraid that Cooper Coldson will know about it?"

Noah Coldson continued to look out the window, "The whole thing, if it weren’t for Melissa Greenwood, perhaps Cooper and Yolanda would have been very happy long ago."

"What’s the use of making such assumptions?" Adam scorned him, "Why don’t you assume, if you hadn’t gone abroad back then, you met Yolanda first, and it was the two of you who ended up getting married?"

Noah Coldson’s expression momentarily lost focus, as he couldn’t help but think—was that possible?

If he had met Yolanda first, would Yolanda have fallen in love with him?

He really had no answer.

But he was sure that if Melissa Greenwood hadn’t caused trouble, Yolanda and Cooper would likely be happy.

He said self-mockingly, "Actually, even if Yolanda doesn’t say it, I should tell Cooper, whether as his brother or as a love rival."

"Tsk!" Adam laughed mockingly, "Our great captain, even when a love rival, has to be the honorable type."

Noah Coldson remained silent again.

Adam reminded him, "Do you remember how your dear brother ruined Yolanda last time?"

Noah Coldson turned his head, his expression sorrowful as he looked at Adam, of course he remembered.

At that time, Adam had warned him—if Cooper knew that the rescuer was Yolanda and still did not believe or Yolanda still did not receive the recognition she deserved, then Yolanda might get hurt even more.

"But this time is different," Noah Coldson explained, "This time, there are witnesses; that child and Brooks Parker are the best witnesses, Melissa Greenwood can’t deny it."

Adam shook his head, "There are things in this world beyond our control due to unforeseen and uncontrollable factors."

He seriously warned Noah Coldson, "You must not act rashly in this matter; how Yolanda decides must be left to her, understood?"

"I understand," Noah Coldson sighed softly.

"I should also remind you," Adam glanced at him, "Last time, Yolanda herself said that telling Cooper the truth wasn’t to reconcile with him. Her relationship with Cooper was no longer what it used to be, so you don’t have to worry too much."

"I’m not worried," Noah Coldson’s expression unnaturally turned towards the window.

The next day, after having breakfast, Yolanda Greenwood went downstairs and coincidentally saw Little May coming outside.

"Aunt Yolanda, good morning," the little girl looked up with a smile that was especially adorable.

"Good morning, May," Yolanda Greenwood saw that the little one had another little bear in her hand, she squatted down in front of the child, "May, was the teddy bear a gift from your mom?"

Little May thought seriously for a moment then nodded, "Yes."

"Then the teddy bear I have, was it also a gift from May’s mom?" asked Yolanda Greenwood.

This time, Little May immediately shook her head, "No, Aunt Yolanda’s teddy bear was a gift from May."

She was obviously lying when she said this, and after speaking, she lowered her head, afraid to look at Yolanda Greenwood.

Yolanda Greenwood’s expression changed instantly, and her tone became a bit harsher, "Who taught you to lie? Your dad or your mom? Or were you born a liar?"

She didn’t want to see Little May turn into a person like Melissa Greenwood, and the thought of it scared her.

Little May was clearly frightened, her neck shrank, and her eyes started to well up with tears.

"Crying won’t help, I’ll ask you again, who gave you the teddy bear?" Yolanda Greenwood sternly demanded, "If you dare to lie again, Auntie will never talk to you again."

"Wuuuu..." Little May suddenly burst into tears, she didn’t understand what was happening, why was Aunt Yolanda so angry?

Her mom had told her that if Aunt Yolanda knew the teddy bear was a gift from May, she would be even happier, but now it seemed not to be the case.

The sound of Little May’s crying brought Brooks Parker.

He pushed open the door, scooped up Little May, and looked somewhat displeasingly at Yolanda Greenwood, "What happened? Why is she crying?"

"Did you teach her to lie?" Yolanda Greenwood’s face still looked unpleasant, "Do you want to turn her into a liar? Like you, a person everyone shuns?"

Brooks Parker was stunned; he hadn’t expected Yolanda Greenwood to suddenly turn on him.

Facing such humiliation, he became somewhat angry, and his grip around Little May involuntarily tightened.

"No fighting, no fighting," Little May was terrified and quickly explained in a soft voice, "May didn’t mean to lie. Mom said that if Aunt Yolanda thought the gift was prepared by May, she would be even happier. May was wrong, the gift was from Mom."

"What gift?" Brooks Parker was confused.

Seeing Yolanda looking concerned, Little May nervously tried to console her, "Aunt Yolanda, don’t be angry, May didn’t mean to deceive you. May just wants you to be happier. If you don’t like it, May will never lie again."

"May!" Yolanda Greenwood instantly regretted her actions; she had reacted too harshly because of how Melissa Greenwood and Eliana Reed had acted, making her prejudge Little May unfairly.

She quickly apologized to the little one, "May, I’m sorry, Auntie was too harsh just now. May is a good girl, Auntie wrongly accused you."

"Aunt Yolanda, are you not angry anymore?" Little May asked cautiously.

Yolanda Greenwood nodded, "Auntie is not angry, I was wrong to blame you, May, Auntie apologizes to you."

Brooks Parker was puzzled from start to end, and he put down Little May, resignedly saying, "It seems I’m somewhat redundant here."

He turned to open the door and leave.

"Senior Brother Brooks," Yolanda Greenwood stopped him, "I’d like to talk with you."

Brooks Parker’s steps suddenly halted, and he incredulously turned around, "You... you recognize me?"

Yolanda Greenwood didn’t respond but repeated, "Senior Brother Brooks, I’d like to chat with you."

Brooks Parker looked at Yolanda Greenwood, his eyes clearly struggling.

"Daddy, did you know Aunt Yolanda before?" Little May suddenly asked curiously, then she turned to Yolanda Greenwood, "Aunt Yolanda, what was Dad like before he had May?"

Yolanda Greenwood patted Little May’s head, "Aunt Yolanda only knows that, when in school, your dad was super awesome, an idol chased by many, including Aunt Yolanda."

"Really?" Little May clapped her hands happily, "I knew my dad was the best."

Brooks Parker gave a wry smile and looked at Little May with exceptionally tender eyes, "May, why don’t you go downstairs and play by yourself for a while? Don’t wander off."

"Okay," Little May was very obedient, "Daddy and Aunt Yolanda can have a good talk; May can be by herself."

The little one happily went downstairs.

Brooks Parker glanced at Yolanda Greenwood, "Let’s talk inside."
