Chapter 212: Chapter 212 I Simply Can’t Help But Love You

Lola Gold turned around and smiled, "Do you still remember the last time we met?"

Christopher Coldson frowned. Last time, Lola Gold had pushed Sunny Coldson into the water, and he had slapped Lola Gold.

Thinking of that, he sharply slapped his own cheek.

Lola Gold was startled, "What’s going on? What are you doing? Have you lost your mind?"

"That slap from last time, I return it to you, or maybe..." Christopher Coldson looked at her pleadingly, "you do it yourself?"

Lola Gold laughed out of irritation, "I don’t fancy a sore hand."

Her tone became more serious, "If I say I’ve never pushed Sunny Coldson, would you believe me?"

Christopher Coldson didn’t say anything.

Lola Gold’s anger surfaced instantly, and she yanked her hand away, "If you don’t believe me, then why bother coming to find me?"

"That day was so cold, and the pool water was chilly, would Sunny jump in by herself?"

Christopher Coldson hastily explained, "I’m here because, even if you were the one who pushed her, I can’t help but love you."

At that moment, Lola Gold seemed to understand a phrase: joy and sorrow intertwined.

She didn’t know how to react.

"Lola, give me a chance, and give yourself a chance, can’t we be together properly?" Christopher Coldson gazed at Lola Gold with longing eyes.

Lola Gold was not the least bit interested, "Christopher Coldson, have you ever considered, perhaps you’ve never truly understood Sunny Coldson?"

Christopher Coldson was taken aback.

"It doesn’t matter, I’m not interested in your trio." Lola Gold yawned, "I’m going back to sleep. We’ve met, we’ve hugged, and if you’re going to mess around ..."

Lola Gold made a throat-slitting gesture, "Be careful or I might cut off your lineage."

Christopher Coldson watched Lola Gold leave. He straightened up his body instantly and walked back with a steady gait, completely shedding the drunken demeanor from before.

When he got downstairs, he hailed a cab and went to the Empire Grand Hotel directly.

"Mr. Coldson, how can I assist you?" The duty manager was respectful, obviously recognizing his identity.

Christopher Coldson asked for the surveillance footage from the day of the incident and quickly fast-forwarded to the moment Sunny Coldson fell into the swimming pool.

Unexpectedly, the spot where Sunny Coldson stood was blocked by a pillar, and it was impossible to see from the footage how she fell in.

Was it just a coincidence?

Christopher Coldson didn’t know; had he truly never understood Sunny Coldson?

Yolanda Greenwood thought about it all night, and she had decided to go abroad.

She came out of the bedroom and saw Lola Gold slouched on the couch, looking sleepy with severe dark circles under her eyes.

"What’s wrong? Didn’t sleep well last night?"

"Um, I went to bed a bit late." Lola Gold barely opened her eyes, "I made some porridge for later, and big brother will bring over some steamed buns soon."

"Lola, there’s something I want to tell you." Yolanda sat beside Lola Gold, hesitating to speak.

"What is it?" Lola Gold perked up, noticing that Yolanda was upset.

"Lola, I’m thinking of going abroad." Yolanda held Lola Gold’s hand, "Tala invited me to their headquarters for the end-of-year show, at the time ..."

She looked down at her belly, "At the time, the baby was less than three months, so I didn’t accept, but now ..."

Lola Gold cut her off, "Is it because big brother wants to marry you?"

"It’s not just that," Yolanda explained, "I want to go out and make something of myself. After all, I will have to provide for the child, and I want to give them the best life."

"Tala’s headquarters is in M country?"

Yolanda nodded.

"But going there, unfamiliar with life and alone with a pregnancy, can you manage?" Lola Gold couldn’t accompany her; she needed to stay in the country to take care of her mother.

"It’s okay, I’ll be working. The company should have arrangements." Yolanda was firmly decided, "Let’s not tell big brother about this for now, and besides, I rejected Tala that time, maybe they won’t take me now."

Lola Gold felt uneasy.

"Trust me, it’ll be fine." Yolanda hugged her gently.

At that moment, the doorbell rang. Clearly, Noah Coldson had arrived.

Yolanda got up to open the door and reminded Lola Gold to keep her secret.

When the door opened, Noah Coldson was carrying lots of items. The moment he saw Yolanda, he remembered what Adam Sterling had said last night and instantly blushed.

"Good morning, big brother," Yolanda greeted him and reached out to take the items.

"No need, I can carry them myself." Noah Coldson kept his head down, not daring to look at Yolanda.

"Is it very cold outside?" Lola Gold noticed Noah Coldson’s red face and ears, thinking he was frozen.

"It’s okay." Noah Coldson set down the items.

"Did Adam Sterling catch his flight?" Yolanda helped out, chatting casually with Noah Coldson.

"Yes."

Yolanda and Lola Gold only knew that Adam Sterling had a mission when he went back, but they didn’t know where he went.

When Noah Coldson reached to grab a dish, his hand brushed past Yolanda’s, and in an instant, he blushed again.

Before, he and Yolanda had some minor physical contacts, but he had never paid much attention. Now, after hearing Adam Sterling’s words, he felt completely off.

"Big brother, did you have a drink this morning?" Lola Gold felt that Noah Coldson was acting strangely.

Noah Coldson glared at her but couldn’t bring himself to look at Yolanda.

The meal was soon ready, and Noah Coldson was quiet, eating with his head down, clearly preoccupied.

Lola Gold couldn’t stand it and kicked him under the table, then glared at him, signaling for him to talk to Yolanda.

Noah Coldson felt on pins and needles, knowing he should say something, but his mind was blank, incapable of uttering a word.

He left abruptly after eating only a few bites, claiming he had something to do.

"What’s wrong with big brother? Why is he acting so odd?" Lola Gold was confused.

Yolanda didn’t understand either and shook her head, then again cautioned Lola Gold, "Don’t tell big brother about me going to M country just yet, promise me."

Lola Gold nodded, "Why? Are you afraid big brother will follow you? Indeed, but even if I don’t tell him, if big brother finds out on his own, he’ll definitely go after you. The result is the same, sooner or later."

Yolanda didn’t speak. She didn’t know whether her decision was right or wrong, but she couldn’t keep holding Noah Coldson back.

After breakfast, Yolanda contacted the CEO Ken to discuss her plans and soon got his approval and assurance that it was a great opportunity.

With the company’s support, Yolanda then got in touch with Tala, and to her surprise, they agreed, too.

The assignment was for three months, and Yolanda agreed to go within a week.

"What about your divorce from Cooper Coldson?" Lola Gold really didn’t want her to leave but didn’t know how to make her stay at this point.

"I’ve talked to them; I’ll come back to complete the procedures at the time."

Clearly, Yolanda had made up her mind to leave.

This departure meant three months away, and she wanted to see Old Master Coldson one last time before leaving, perhaps as a final farewell.
