Elf Kingdom: Game of the World Tree -
Chapter 452 - 434: Divine Grace Town
Chapter 452: Chapter 434: Divine Grace Town
"So this is Divine Grace Town?"
"Wow, it’s quite beautiful, reminds me of the Shire from ’The Lord of the Rings.’"
Looking at the beautiful town ahead, Box Lunch and the others who followed Lily here were amazed.
It was a delicate, small yet elegant and peaceful town situated in the forest, nestled against a stretch of mountains, with a stream like a silver ribbon running through it.
Most of the buildings here were made of wood and stone, low and well-spaced; low wooden fences surrounded the front and back of the houses, with green trees, shrubs, and flowering vines inside, showing a vibrant life.
The town was bustling with people, all of whom, like Lily and her companions, were elf-blooded humans and appeared very young, even the oldest looked no more than thirty.
They wore simple coarse cloth shirts and busied themselves, but when they saw Lily and the others, they all enthusiastically greeted them:
"Yo! Lily, you’re back!"
"Lily, good afternoon!"
"Lily, did you find the Mandala Magic Flower?"
And Lily and the others happily replied,
"We found it, we found it!"
"You actually found it?"
The townspeople’s eyes lit up,
"That’s great, doesn’t that mean the elder’s illness can be cured?!"
After the initial joy, they quickly noticed Box Lunch and the others.
At this moment, the five players had changed their attire.
Though still in gear, they had put on wide hooded cloaks over their clothes.
These were pre-prepared, originally meant to conceal their identities in the Human World.
The town’s residents curiously eyed them and looked at Lily with puzzled expressions:
"Lily, who are they...?"
"These are our esteemed guests! Thanks to their assistance, we obtained the Mandala Magic Flower!"
Lily answered with a smile.
This was the story the players had requested.
After interacting with Lily and the others, the players had realized that this Half-plane was not simple.
This Half-plane had no nation, instead, it was governed by a church known as the Creation God Sect.
And although the church also revered elves as the Divine Race, upon learning that the legends of the church depicted the Creator God as a being of life and nature, the players became wary.
Like Eve, they too did not believe this referred to the World Tree.
So, after discussion, they decided to conceal their identities for now and gather more information from the elder of Divine Grace Town before deciding on their next move.
"I still need to take the esteemed guests to see the elder, so I can’t chat with everyone."
Lily waved to the curious townspeople and then led the players further into the town.
The players followed Lily, walking through the town.
They looked around curiously as they walked.
At the same time, in the chat channel, they exchanged thoughts silently:
"Hey, have you noticed that everyone in this town looks really young?"
"Not just young, but really weak too. I thought Lily and her people were already quite weak, but it turns out they are among the stronger ones. Many NPCs here aren’t even professionals."
"Yes, at first I thought the NPCs we encountered were just young, but it seems the entire town’s residents are young. No wonder there aren’t any powerful individuals."
"It’s so off, is it a design error or intentional?"
Curious, they couldn’t help but ask Lily:
"Lily, I see the town’s residents all look so young, where are the elders?"
"Elders?"
Lily seemed puzzled, then asked in a strange manner:
"Weren’t those who greeted us all elders?"
Those who greeted us?
The players were taken aback, then remembered the residents they had seen earlier, who appeared to be no more than thirty.
Their expressions turned a bit odd.
"Lily, if you don’t mind me asking, how old are you all?"
Hu Lu asked curiously.
And Lily replied,
"I’m already fifteen years old today."
Fifteen?
So, that means their appearances and ages matched?
The players were a bit surprised.
They had thought that with a hint of elf blood, these humans would also be ageless like elves.
"Isn’t there anyone over thirty in the town?"
The Optimist asked.
Lily gave him a strange look, then shook her head:
"Sir, we are just ordinary humans and don’t have as long lifespans as the Divine Race. Our average lifespan is only up to thirty years."
Thir... thirty years...
The players’ mouths dropped open in shock.
Are these people really so short-lived?!
And just as they were shocked, a cool and familiar voice echoed in their minds:
"This is perfectly normal."
"The life potential of beings in this plane depletes quickly, so the lifespan of any creature here is only one-third of the normal level."
It was Eve, observing them secretly, who explained.
Upon hearing Eve’s words, the players nodded in comprehension:
"I see."
"Then it’s really tragic for those living in this Half-plane."
"A bit pitiable... especially since they think it’s normal."
"Hey, it’s just a game, no need to get so invested."
"But still, even in a game, it’s quite pitiable..."
"And now, I understand why there are no ancient trees in the forest. I suppose the plants here also have rapidly depleting life potential, greatly shortening their lifespan."
"That must be it, otherwise, the forest floor wouldn’t have such a thick layer of dead leaves and humus."
The players shook their heads as they secretly conversed with each other.
And soon, with Lily leading the way, they arrived at the elder’s courtyard.
It was a small courtyard filled with blooming flowers and lush greenery, elegant and distinctive.
As soon as they arrived, Lily excitedly shouted:
"Elder! We’re back! And we found the Mandala Magic Flower!"
A moment later, one of the vines on the wooden fence of the courtyard gently pulled aside, opening a path.
"Vine Technique?"
Hu Lu raised an eyebrow.
With the gate open, Lily led the players into the yard.
She thought for a moment, then slightly bowed and said apologetically:
"Honored members of the Divine Race, I will first take the Mandala Magic Flower to the elder and report your esteemed purpose. Please wait in the living room for a moment."
The players nodded lightly, indicating they understood.
Seeing their nods, Lily ran inside with the Mandala Flower towards an inner room.
The players entered the living room that Lily had gestured to before leaving.
The living room wasn’t large, but it was fully furnished, with all items made from handcrafted wood, giving off a unique woody fragrance.
Additionally, in the center of the living room, the players noticed a rough statue of a deity.
The statue was not tall, appearing in human form, wearing a large hood that covered half its face.
The players curiously glanced at it.
At that moment, a weak and tired voice suddenly came from behind them:
"Cough, cough, this is a statue of the Creator God I carved based on ancient descriptions..."
The Creator God?
The players were a bit surprised and then turned around.
Lily was assisting a human male who appeared to be in his thirties at the door.
This male wore a large robe and, although he appeared only thirty, his hair was completely white.
The players curiously looked at him, and he returned their gaze.
Seeing Lily’s respectful attitude, his identity was already evident.
The man gave them a gentle smile and then said,
"Should I address you esteemed beings as members of the Divine Race, or should I call you—"
"Elves?"
