Edge of the Apocalypse -
Chapter 651: Transaction
"This is the destination coordinates. It's near the Chaos Canyon. I think the Catus' base is in the canyon." Lloyd called out a navigation map on his brain. A dotted line curved around the map, showing a set of coordinates at the end.
Alan marked the group in his mind.
"It's a long journey to arrive in a dozen hours. Where did you start, Mr. Lauder?" Alan looked at the sergeant. He had already put down his rifle, but the muzzle was still pointing at his vital point.
'"We didn't set off from any base," Laud smiled bitterly. "We arrived at Colonel Frost directly on a transport starship. I'm sorry if you want to know who else is on Colonel Bula's side. Even if you kill me, I don't know. I only know that everyone in this convoy usually obeys Colonel Bula's orders."
Allen was convinced that Lauder was only a marginal figure in the circle and could not get in touch with the core members. However, from his tone, it wasn't hard to tell that they were not the only people who were plotting all of this. Colonels like Bula should be the mainstay of this circle. However, since there was a colonel, would any general join the ranks?
Even if there were only one or two generals involved, it was enough to cause a headache. Alan secretly sighed in his heart. Countless roots had rotted away in the Federation's large tree with intertwined roots.
Allen asked a few more questions, and when he was sure that Lauder could not know more, he said, "Switch the flying car to self-driving."
Lloyd did as he pleased.
"Now it's time for me to keep my promise, but Mr. Lauder, you'll probably have to suffer a little in order to avoid some unnecessary trouble." Alan pointed his gun at his uniform. "You probably won't need it in the future, or you can take it off."
Lloyd had already betrayed him. If he wore this uniform again, it would bring him a lot of trouble. Without hesitation, he swiftly removed his armor and uniform. Alan looked at him and asked, "What are your plans for the future?"
"The army won't be able to return. Sergeant Lloyd must die tonight. There won't be anyone like Lloyd in the future." After taking off my uniform, Lloyd bitterly smiled and said, "I will change my identity again. While Coldfrost is still at war, perhaps I can find a hunting group to join. After that, I can think of a way to return to Earth. After that, I can only live on the surface. Perhaps I will go to the control area of the Gate of Freedom, that's all."
Alan nodded and suddenly dodged, hitting the back of Laud's neck with his palm. Lloyd immediately fainted, and Alan put him up and went to the back cabin. After opening the door, he threw Lloyd and Bane's corpses out. Lloyd fell into the snow and another rifle was thrown near him so that he could protect himself in the wilderness. Whether he could join a hunting party as he wished and successfully return to Earth was not an issue that Allen cared about.
Allen put on the battle uniform that Lauder had taken off and continued to wear the damaged blade armor. The blade didn't damage the sequence and conduction lines, only two abilities could be used, and it was more useful than the standard armor Lauder and the others wore. If he put on his tactical helmet, it would be very difficult to recognize Alan. There was still a long way to go, so Alan simply closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Time passed bit by bit on the journey. As the speed of the flying car gradually slowed down, Alan opened his eyes.
It's already daytime.
The convoy finally arrived at its destination. From the flying car, it could be seen that this was no longer a snowy wilderness, but a rolling hilly region. In the distance, a gloomy cloud could be seen wrapped around the endless mountain peaks. That was the Chaos Canyon. The canyon was named after the Federation, and it was said to be the most mysterious area in the Federation-controlled area. When the Federation Army, which was in charge of opening up the Wilderness, built a base on Frost Planet, they sent scouts into the Chaos Canyon.
However, the people who entered the valley never came out again. They didn't even know what had happened in the valley. As soon as they approached the canyon, the planet's magnetic field would become unstable, making it difficult for any direction-finding tools to work. The Origin Energy was also very chaotic, while the Shadow Origin Energy occupied most of the valley's space. This caused the valley to be shrouded in dim light for many years. Even in the daytime, one's line of sight could not exceed three hundred meters.
The Catus chose this place to trade with humans. As Laud had said, the main force of the alien alliance army was located in Coldfrost and was hiding in the Chaos Canyon. The chaotic magnetic field in the valley was a natural barrier. It was hidden in the valley. Unless the Federation sent troops into the valley to investigate, it would be very difficult to find them.
The communicator rang, and Colonel Bula almost roared, "Everyone get out of the car and get to work, boys."
Alan didn't want to work, much less be recognized by Colonel Bula, even though he didn't even know what the headmaster looked like. But he was sure that Bula recognized Lauder and Bane. To be able to become a colonel, one's strength would naturally not be low. Even though such a person's memory wasn't as strong as his, he would still be impressed by his subordinates' silhouettes as long as he saw them a few times. That wasn't something that could be concealed in a mere set of battle uniforms.
He packed his things and landed on the cold and soft snow through the gap in the cabin of the flying car. He then rolled to the side of the road and submerged himself into the long grass that grew tenaciously out of the snow. Finally, he arrived behind a dwarf hill. At this time, one could hear the sound of the carriage opening the carriage door, as well as various shouts.
Bula jumped into the cold snow in the warm carriage. With his level 24 strength, this chill was nothing to him. However, he still shook his body and cursed, "It's really cold."
The colonel may not be very tall, but he is very strong. The battle uniform that was tightly attached to his body outlined a perfect muscular line. The armor on his body seemed to explode with every breath of the colonel's strong muscles, giving people the impression that the armor would break apart at any moment. The colonel spat out a mouthful of phlegm on the ground, but like a bullet, it blew out a hole in the snow the size of a bowl.
Bula touched his bearded chin and scolded, "Everyone, be quick. This damn place is freezing. Hurry up and finish your work before we go back. Damn it, I'll definitely find two girls to warm my bed when I get back."
Some of the soldiers burst into laughter, but when Brahma's sharp eyes landed on them, the laughter stopped as if it had been cut off by scissors. Bula glanced around and his gaze landed on the flying car that Alan had invaded. The door of the flying car was tightly shut, and such an anomaly alerted Bella. He shouted at the crowd, "Lloyd, Bane. The two of you, step out!"
However, no one replied.
Bula's expression darkened and he began to walk towards the flying car. Behind the hills, Alan, who only had his eyes exposed, saw all of this. He was even about to leave when Bella found that there was no one in the car, so she could guess what was going on. He didn't want to stay and wait for Bula to discover him, but before the colonel could step forward, a soldier called out to him, "Sir, they're coming."
Alan also noticed that in front of the convoy, a group of Catus passed through a few hills and appeared in Alan's line of sight. They stopped in front of the convoy, a hundred meters away from the convoy. The Catu Warrior separated on both sides, and a chubby fellow walked out from within. It was like a fat rhinoceros, if the Catus were willing to crawl on the ground with their hands and feet. Among the power-oriented Catus, it was rare to see such a fat fellow. He was like a boiled sausage that was about to explode.
He had a pale complexion and was not wearing heavy plate armor. Instead, he wore a long coat made of animal hide, chains, stones, and metal sheets. The strange Catu struggled to get to the front of the line, slit his throat, and spat out human language: "Have you brought everything?"
Alan was surprised. Although the tone was a little strange, it was indeed human language. Since when did the chaotic races learn human language?
"We've brought a hundred Shadow Star Diamonds, a hundred tons of Valley Blue Steel and everything else you've specified. What about the Nether Crystals we want?" Colonel Bula frowned as he walked to the front of the convoy.
Fatty Catu shouted in his native language. A moment later, several Catu warriors struggled to pull a carriage with a rough-mouthed box on it. The fat man patted the chest and said, "Here you are. The Abyss Crystals you want. Take them away quickly. Along with them, my heart is jumping."
Colonel Bula said mockingly, "You're quite good at human language."
"Of course, I, Bai Li Ge, am the smartest Catu. Otherwise, the valiant Barbarian Hammer Vasark would not have entrusted me with the task of trading with you Earth Monkeys."
"Hey, Catu wild boar." Bula cursed and raised his hand. "Boys, send the things over."
Under the influence of the force field retractor, the soldiers easily placed mouthfuls of containers filled with blue steel in front of the Catus. When these containers were piled up together, they were like a small hill. Bula walked over to Belligo and waved the traction device in his hand. "Do you know how to use this thing?"
Brother Bai Li curled his lips and said, "It's not the first day I've made a deal with you. Don't tell me I don't understand?"
"That's fine." Bula threw the traction device to him and took a silver-gray suitcase from a soldier behind him. He patted him and said, "Here's the Shadow Star Diamond. Take a look. I want to check the Abyss Crystals, too. Tell your men to go away. I can't stand the stench on their bodies."
Brother Bai Li waved his hand and a few Catu warriors left. Both sides were satisfied after checking what they wanted. Seeing Bula walk back, Alan knew that he needed to do something. He quietly left the dwarf hill where he was hiding.
