Chapter 739 - 739: The old bow Part 2

Bella, Nika and Alice headed straight for the airport to look around for the zeppelin Professor Pangeotis said would be waiting for them. It hadn't been long since Uriel broke Sam's blockade, but the airport was already crowded with all sorts of zeppelins, mostly from the Mapple corporation.

They ranged from the relatively small but fast courier ships to the bulk trading gargantuan airships only international conglomerates could possess. Inside the airport things were also different from anything they've ever seen before as it was brimming with people to the point where moving was difficult.

"The Sparrow? Let me check real quick," Said the clerk behind the counter as she skimmed through the manifests. True to her word, it didn't even took her a minute to find the ship's location and she handed them a small piece of paper that gave them access to where they needed to go. "Landing bay 19. Next!"

Without missing a beat, the three women rushed to the appointed landing bay gaping at the sight of the marvels of science owned by the Mapple corp, then came the imposing government ships that came to check up on the political affairs after such a long period of absence and then, the private owned ships.

To say the latter were underwhelming would have been correct, but nothing compared to the absolute junk of a ship located in the appointed bay.

"This must be a joke," Nika's brows twitched in annoyance. "Does that thing even fly?"

"I'd feel a lot safe flying on my own." Bella replied.

"It can't be so bad." Alice said.

"If you don't like it then turn around and save yourselves some pain." A masked woman pushed past them, followed closely by the rest of her party.

"Who the fuck do you think you are?" Nika growled.

"I'm the leader of the party that's going to kick your asses." She scoffed.

"Hazel! Finally someone capable shows up." A man wearing a sailor hat and a blue coat walked in.

"Captain Roberts, I'm glad you invited us."

"Hop on board, we're set to depart in an hour." The man said after taking a quick glimpse at his silver pocket clock.

"Hey, what about us?" Nika asked.

"What about you?" The man replied quizzically.

"I was told you were expecting us."

"You're the... dungeon riders, correct?"

"It's Raiders!" Bella scoffed.

"Whatever, I don't need your services anymore." The captain shrugged. Nika being Nika, she wouldn't be satisfied with that and she was ready to put the man in his place, but she was cut short by the woman in a gas mask named Hazel.

"Step off or you'll face consequences." The woman's eyes shimmered bright in the same shade that earned her nickname and she readied to strike, but the captain intervened.

"Calm down, I don't actually care what party comes along. I just need strong hunters that can assure me I'll get to my destination in one piece. Good news is, you have an hour to settle the matter. I don't care how you do it as long as it doesn't mean getting delayed."

"Understood." Hazel moved to an open place, followed closely by the rest of her party.

"Hey! This is unfair, they're more than us! You can't possibly expect us to fight 3 versus 10." Alice whined.

"It's fine by me." Nika cracked her knuckles as she followed Hazel.

"It's not like you can ask cryptids to play fair." Bella said as she hovered forward leaving Alice with no choice but to also step forward.

The moment they took enough distance from the Sparrow, Hazel activated her trait and hurled a few stone bullets. It was meant as nothing but a poke to open the fight and throw her enemies out of balance, but it turned out to be more than Alice could handle.

Despite being able to see into the future, the projectile aspersion made it impossible for her to follow the trajectory and she would have ended seriously hurt if not for Nika blocking the bullets in the nick of time thanks to both her shadow blink and armor.

Bella countered with a wind barrage, though the air element fought back as there were two wind users in Hazel's party, something Bella didn't take into account. This resulted in the wind reaching the enemies as nothing more than a breeze and them being able to swarm up on the three Dungeon Raiders.

Three enemies surrounded each of them, while Hazel focused fire on Alice who she deemed to be the weakest.

It was a sound strategy that had worked for them many times in the past as they usually deal with threats be them cryptids or hunters with extreme prejudice, but unfortunately for Hazel she was soon forced to block in the same fashion Nika just did when Bella's wind barrier was triggered.

The sudden burst of wind was loud as a thunder and it shoved everyone far away from the blond witch who now was able to channel her flux energy. Unfortunately for her, air was unable to block electricity and one of the masked hunters zapped her canceling her focus.

The captain of the Sparrow watched the fight with renewed interest after noticing that despite their difference in numbers, the Dungeon Raiders were able to put up a good fight. Especially when Bella manipulated the air to dissipate all the oxygen from her surroundings, causing a vacuum effect that affected everyone but Marina who was able to hold her breath far longer than any hunter.

She struck at Bella with all her might and experience, sending her to fly away despite causing her no damage whatsoever due to her wind barrier, but it had a great impact on the battlefield as now only Nika and Alice remained.

"I'll do it now." Alice muttered as she channeled all of her flux energy into the bow as she drew the arrow made with the arrowhead left by Scoundrel. By using her trait, Alice was able to see Hazel shouting something and summoning an earth barrier to block the projectile, but the powerful arrow would pierce through it with ease.

The moment she let go of the arrow Alice immediately regretted it as she saw the aftermath caused by the arrow that in ten seconds time would pierce through the barrier, the hunters and the sparrow killing everyone in its track.

"No, you wont." Uriel managed to block the arrow right as it left the bow thanks to his Dash skill. The sharp obsidian arrow was unable to pierce through orichalcum which caused the flux energy to be dissipated right after impact. "Is that my bow?"
