Chapter 1343: Chapter 1347: Ten Thousand Dread-Earthbound Dragon
These ghost serpents twisted and squeezed together frantically, forming an enormous millstone with their own bodies!
This ghost serpent millstone hovered in the air, ready to press down at any moment. The sinister and overpowering force made Zhu Minglang’s scalp tingle—if it were aimed at him, only the Sword Spirit Dragon could counter it. Terrifying!
"Brother Bai, watch the well, it’s coming out!!" Ji Yuanye shouted loudly.
Zhu Minglang’s gaze immediately shifted to the mouth of the well. At that moment, the Earth’s Heart Abyss seemed to release a pent-up wrath of countless years, like the gates of the underworld opening to unleash an army of evil creatures upon the mortal realm. Yet, all that overwhelming momentum and soul-shaking force originated solely from the dragon bursting out from inside!!
The dragon bore a pair of dark wings. When it spread them wide, they overshadowed the heavens, slicing the sky into two infinitely extending arcs!
Its body resembled that of an ancient python—a primordial creature of the same caliber as the mythical Heavenly Dragons, known for preying exclusively on them. The dragon’s scales were Dark Jail Scales, exceedingly dense, resembling human skin with no visible pores—smooth yet eerily dark.
Its wings were long and resembled chains, but its most peculiar feature was its tail’s tip: it manifested an Earthbound Lamp, a spectral radiance capable of reducing all living beings to ghastly white bones upon blooming!
Zhu Minglang stood frozen in place, staring in awe at the sealed dragon that had flown out of the Well of the Imprisoned Dragon...
As the seal completely broke, Zhu Minglang instantly felt an unprecedented psychic resonance. A soul connection that had been silent for ages now surged with overwhelming emotion from the other party!
First came the wild breath of newfound freedom, followed by the almost maddened elation upon seeing Zhu Minglang here!
"Gyaaaaaa!!!!!!!!"
The dragon with dark wings let out a prolonged cry, resembling a weather-beaten black swan triumphantly returning to its long-lost nesting ground, diving straight toward Zhu Minglang on the earth.
"Great Rebel Blemish!!!"
Zhu Minglang almost blurted out.
It was the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon!! The same catastrophic omen of a dragon that had always harbored thoughts of rebellion!!!
Zhu Minglang could never have imagined that he would meet *his* dragon here.
The imprisoned dragon was actually his dragon!!
The Reverse Spot—it was once the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon... but now, it had clearly undergone a Reincarnation Transformation, evolving into an even higher-bloodline Slaughter Emperor Dragon species!!
"Brother Bai, why are you still standing there? The Ten Thousand Dread-Earthbound Dragon is about to bite through your neck!!" Ji Yuanye shouted loudly again.
His shout finally yanked Zhu Minglang’s tangled thoughts back to reality!
Just moments ago, he had resolved to adapt to the situation, but this sudden surprise made Zhu Minglang’s head stop functioning for a moment.
"Reverse Spot, they’re here to subdue you. I’ve infiltrated their group—let’s pretend to fight for now!" Zhu Minglang quickly conveyed through their psychic connection to the profoundly transformed dragon.
The Ten Thousand Dread-Earthbound Dragon!
What a majestic aura—no wonder they needed such an elaborate setup to suppress it.
But they dared to target *my* dragon? That’s unacceptable!
A dragon following Zhu Minglang might not always achieve mastery in cultivation, but its acting skills must certainly be top-notch!
The Ten Thousand Dread-Earthbound Dragon, already ecstatic, immediately launched an explosive attack. However, due to the protection of their soul contract, no matter how destructive the attack appeared, it was unlikely to harm its master!
Zhu Minglang feigned the use of divine skills to dodge, sending the Gluttonous Lunar Eclipse Dragon to engage Reverse Spot in battle.
When Reverse Spot noticed that the challenger was a Glutton—a domineering master of Dragon Gate it already bore a grudge against—it instinctively acted with raw animosity, unleashing a Dreadful Poisonous God Explode straight at Little Glutton!
Little Glutton’s expression instantly changed, and it scrambled to use the Bipolar Beads to neutralize the attack. Unfortunately, with Reverse Spot now many leagues above it in cultivation base, Little Glutton’s Bipolar Beads couldn’t withstand the toxic blast of the poisonous explosion.
"Reverse Spot! Go easy—Little Glutton is one of our own now!" Zhu Minglang urgently used their soul connection to communicate with the Ten Thousand Dread-Earthbound Dragon.
Only then did the Ten Thousand Dread-Earthbound Dragon leave an energy gap for Little Glutton to escape into.
"Roarrrrrr!!!!!!!!"
Little Glutton was indignant, curling its enormous yet visibly cowed frame into the narrow gap despite all its fears.
Nonetheless, the shock within Little Glutton mirrored Zhu Minglang’s—it was no less astonished. Back when Zhu Minglang battled it, the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon had merely been a fringe dragon, capable of challenging only the likes of the White Dragon, the Xuanlong, the Sword Spirit Dragon, or the Nuwa Dragon. The rest of the dragons were little more than nuisances, utterly beneath Little Glutton’s notice.
And yet, after all these years, the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon—once entirely unimpressive—had become the Ten Thousand Dread-Earthbound Dragon!!
The Ten Thousand Dread-Earthbound Dragon—recognized as the Underworld’s dark sovereign, the Dark Immortal—its bloodline was now flawless. Even though Little Glutton held itself in high esteem, it wouldn’t dare to disregard such a dragon!
At the same cultivation base, Little Glutton felt no certainty of victory and suspected it could only rely on its seasoned abilities to outmaneuver the adversary, if at all.
The bloodline of a dragon could improve gradually over its lifecycle, but how could it leap into an entirely different and superior species??
The Heavenly Slaughter Dragon becoming the Ten Thousand Dread-Earthbound Dragon??
How many levels of bloodline had it just skipped??
How in the world had this Zhu Minglang managed to pull off such a scheme??
"Smack!!!!!!!!"
"Boom!!!!!!!!"
"Thud!!!!!!!!"
Perhaps out of spite, the Ten Thousand Dread-Earthbound Dragon decided to make the spectacle of the dragon duel appear more believable, mercilessly roughing up Little Glutton. It dealt no actual injuries but made the beating look convincingly pitiful!
Little Glutton swallowed its rage, wanting to fight back but knowing it couldn’t. For now, it was just a small quail, unable to even muster the courage to resist against the eagle-like Earthbound Dragon.
Yet in the eyes of outsiders, this clash between the two dragons was cataclysmic. The divine skills displayed were beyond comprehension—anyone stepping into the fray would face certain death!
Ji Yuanye retreated to a safe distance. Observing this scene, he couldn’t help but marvel at how this old acquaintance from a century ago could hold his own against the Ten Thousand Dread-Earthbound Dragon with such composure.
Ji Yuanye sighed inwardly, convinced. Despite his current cultivation being relatively low, Zhu Minglang’s skills remained formidable, proving that he was not a figure to underestimate!
"Master Ancestor, when exactly did you meet this extraordinary individual? I thought we might lose a few disciples on this mission, but now it seems we can not only subdue the dragon but also safely withdraw!" remarked the Yellow Dragon Daoist Master beside him.
Ji Yuanye couldn’t recall the specifics. Having endured various heart demons and countless trials, he had forgotten much of his worldly past.
Still, with someone proactively offering their aid and helping with such a monumental task, Ji Yuanye saw no reason to refuse. He silently resolved, however, to remain vigilant and ensure this ally had no ulterior motives.
"Master Ancestor, the time is ripe. We can now descend the Dragon Millstone!" suggested the Yellow Dragon-robed Daoist beside him.
"Do not heavily injure this dragon—we must still answer to Zhen Nan Immortal of the Southern Heavenly Palace!" Ji Yuanye cautioned.
"Understood, Master Ancestor!"
"Do not let your guard down either. For a dragon confined in the Well of the Imprisoned Dragon to retain such power, it is anything but a mere Mortal Dragon!" Ji Yuanye warned.
