Chapter 74: System Reforged
Bel sat alone in the narrow shade of an alley, finally calm.
He closed his eyes and opened the system again.

He sighed, letting the screen glow reflect in his eyes.
"So... the gift I needed, huh?"
He scrolled slowly through the panels.
The system was fully different now, more complete, and complicated.
"Did Vezalia know this would happen? Was this really her plan? Hm... Maybe... Maybe all Demon Lords have this kind of system?"
He didn’t have the answers. But one thing was sure, if they had it before him, they were definitely stronger than him, so there was only one way to move after this.
His eyes moved to the stats screen.
All his stats had exploded, not only his improvable stats, but even his HP and most importantly, his mana had increased tens time.
He whistled quietly.
"These are insane..." he muttered. "No wonder I feel so... solid."
Then he paused.
"Wait... what’s that?"
He scrolled again. One line had never been there before.
[Luck: 12]
He was confused for a moment, but just as he thought about it, a pop-up appeared.
[Luck]: increase the successful synthesis rate (+12%), unique drops (+8%), and chance to inflict a status ailment (+10%).
"Tied to synthesis? Drops? Evolution...?" he blinked, then froze. His mouth hung open, eyes fixed on the screen like he was staring at his favorite meal.
"Wait. No. I understand. That’s massive."
His breath caught in his throat.
"12% increased success to synthesis... I’ll have time to figure it out, but 8% for rare drops... Is that cores? Like rare cores?! And 10% higher chance to inflict a status?!"
He stumbled back and leaned on the alley wall. His hands trembled slightly. His voice came out in a hoarse whisper.
"That’s not just helpful. That’s... Completely interesting!"
His heart raced. The math was running wild in his mind. Every percent, every modifier... they changed everything.
Crafting, farming, even combat... Most importantly combat! He could change his luck to 100% and always inflict poison, burn and freeze.
"That could flip a whole raid... A synthesis that shouldn’t work... an instant poison... a rare trait drop..."
He swallowed hard, then laughed, half-stunned, half-panicked.
"I... I need to test this. Right now..."
He stared at the glowing [Luck] stat with a glint in his eye, equal parts fear and greed, then forced himself to stay calm and resume his analysis.
He hovered then over [Wisdom].
[Wisdom]: Affects mana capacity, resistance to magic control, and magical insight (increases spell efficiency and allows identification of enemy magic effects).
"Oh... So that’s why my MP is higher now. That’s actually useful."
He checked [Agility], and another pop-up came up.
[Agility]: Affects movement speed, accuracy and reaction speed. Improve velocity.
"Hm... wait... there’s speed mixed in it? So it combined it? Oh, that’s clever. If agility and speed are one now, I don’t even need to waste points on each."
Next, he checked the new titles.
"Demonic Lindworm... Demon General..."
He clicked on the title.
[Title: Demon General]
A title granted to those chosen by a Demon Lord or who attain a Lord Core. Grants authority over lower-tier demons and access to restricted commander paths.
Bel sat back, eyes narrowed. This time, he wasn’t fully able to determine the meaning of the ability, there was only one thing he could confirm now.
"So... it’s real. I’m officially a demon general. Just like Vezalia said. Damn..."
He opened the skills tab.
The order was cleaner now. Categorized. Passives were marked, affinities grouped. It felt more like a battle library.
He scrolled down again. Then, his eyes caught it.
[Lindworm’s Legacy]: Boosts all stats in draconic form. Greatly enhances elemental mastery, physical defense, regeneration speed, and accelerates elemental convergence speed. Also improves resistance to elemental damage.
Bel blinked.
"Holy... Shit."
A slow grin curled across his face.
"So this is what I got instead of the white orb? This whole upgrade?"
His fingers tapped the glowing panel like a silent thank-you.
"Yeah... Maybe I’ll be more thankful to the world from now on."
"Alright... Storage."
The moment he focused on the [STORAGE] tab, the interface shifted.
A new window bloomed open before him, clean, simple, but with clear rows of empty squares, like boxes waiting to be filled.
Only one of them, tucked in the top-left corner, wasn’t empty.
A purple glint shimmered inside it.
"Huh... what’s that?"
Bel narrowed his eyes and reached out, his focus locking onto the strange item. The box expanded instantly, the rest of the interface fading into the background.
The object inside rotated slowly in the air, surrounded by a swirling dark mist.
[Void Gate Key - Category D] [Rarity: Rare+] [Function: Allows user to generate a dungeon gate of Category D. The user must imagine a door and insert the key virtually to initiate dungeon access. Usable once.]
[Reward Received: Void Gate Key - Category C] [Bonus: Elemental Core - Unbound Type] [Rarity: Epic]
Bel stared.
A key.
Not just any key, a dungeon key.
"This... this means I can open a dungeon? For real? Just like that?"
His brain raced. There was so many exceptional bonuses since his awakening, but this... This was a bomb waiting to detonate.
He wouldn’t have to rely on guild requests anymore. No more forms, no more waiting for missions, no more fake teamwork or dragging around people who couldn’t keep up.
No pretending, no sharing. Just him and the monsters.
"A solo raid. Anytime... Anywhere... I just have to imagine the door... And I get another one if I win."
He felt the weight of that thought sink in.
A slow smile crawled up his face.
Then, without fully realizing it, he reached out. His fingers passed through the screen—and met something solid.
Bel’s eyes widened.
The key, cold and real, slid into his hand like it belonged there. The weight, the faint pulse.
It was real.
"It... really came out... I can touch it!"
He stared at it, turning the violet key in his fingers. The carvings on it glowed faintly, and he could feel the power in it.
His fingers twitched.
"I want to try it. I really want to..."
He looked around the alley.
Walls. Cracked bricks. Faint footsteps in the distance. A lonely cat on a rooftop.
He really wanted to try it now, to open that door right now. But...
This wasn’t the place.
"Not here. If I open a dungeon in the middle of the capital, it will be a catastrophe. And what if something comes out?"
He tucked the key back into the storage gently, his mind still whirling.
He could store items now. Real items. Not just system entries, but actual objects, pulled from the screen into the real world.
He hadn’t fully grasped it before, but now that the key was in his hand and back again, it was clear.
The storage wasn’t just inventory, it was security. It meant carrying cores, rare loot, or even potions without the risk of losing them.
It was a bank for the future.
"If I had this earlier... I could’ve stored the white orb."
The thought hit hard, but he quickly shook his head. No. He had already been given too much.
Too many lucky chances. Wishing for more would be shameful.
He opened the next tab.
[SHOP]
A new menu flickered open.
Each item appeared on a distinct floating panel, set apart on a curved screen wall that stretched in front of Bel like a circular storefront.
The cards rotated individually, each with a small icon, short description, and cost printed below.
Bel could scroll through them with a thought, and as he focused on an item, the panel expanded slightly to details, including effects and rarity.

Potion of Minor Healing [30 Gold] - Restores 500 HP instantly.
Potion of Minor Mana [30 Gold] - Restores 400 MP instantly.

Bel stared at the list.
He was silent for seconds, then a slow smile formed on his lips.
"Ah... Why am I always so poor?"
