Dragon King: Throne of Demons and Gods -
Chapter 55: Hungry For More
Chapter 55: Hungry For More
The purple flames slowly faded, revealing a strange figure standing calmly in the circle.
Everyone watched in fear, gripping their weapons tightly. The newcomer looked like a young girl, wearing an eerie pig skull mask that completely covered her head.
Her dress was dark and frilly, like a spooky doll, colored in shades of black and purple. She softly hummed her sinister lullaby, sending chills down everyone’s spines.
The girl stepped forward playfully, looking around casually at the defeated beasts. Then she stopped, tilting her head curiously.
"This again, huh?" she sighed softly.
Ronan nervously stepped up.
"Who...who are you?"
The others held their breaths, weapons ready, anxious and confused. Crest clenched his fists tightly, his voice shaking.
"What are you doing here? Who are you?"
The mysterious girl slowly turned her masked face towards the path Bel had taken, ignoring Crest’s question.
"At least I’m not too late," she murmured quietly.
Without answering, she began walking calmly in that direction, straight through the party. Instinctively, everyone moved aside, making way as if she commanded respect—or rather fear.
But as she walked away, the warrior’s patience snapped. He stepped forward angrily, shouting.
"Hey! Tell us who you are right now!"
He reached out and barely touched her shoulder when suddenly he froze. His heart thumped loudly in his chest, echoing in his head.
The next instant, everyone watched in horror as he began frantically biting and tearing into his own hand, blood pearling wildly as his mouth danced uncontrollably around it.
"Stop! What are you doing?!" Crest shouted in panic, rushing forward.
But the warrior couldn’t hear him, trapped in his terrifying frenzy, unable to stop himself as everyone stood frozen in fear.
Several party members jumped forward, grabbing the warrior’s arms and trying to hold him back.
He fought fiercely, biting at the air like a wild animal. As they all tumbled to the side, he crawled desperately toward the bear corpses, forcing his mouth against them in a horrifying frenzy.
The rest of the party stood frozen in shock before quickly turning toward the girl. Ronan stepped forward, weapon raised threateningly.
"What did you do to him? Answer me!"
The group closed ranks, blocking her path, tense and ready for a fight.
The air felt thick with tension and fear, every eye fixed on the strange girl.
Will and Sienna exchanged nervous glances, clearly terrified. Dusteria trembled, eyes wide, sensing something deeply unsettling yet oddly familiar in this eerie figure.
The girl’s voice broke the silence.
"Now really," she sighed elegantly, shaking her head gently. "You all arrived far too late. Why would he resort to this, when there are so many delectable morsels standing right here?"
One of the adventurers raised his weapon, his voice shaky but defiant.
The girl paused thoughtfully, delicately tapping her finger to her chin.
"Ooh, wait a sec," she giggled softly, amused. "You’re just snacks, aren’t you? He probably wants a real meal. Still, talk about picky!"
With a shrug, she began walking forward once again.
The adventurers, wary and afraid, attempted to block her path but immediately pulled back, trembling after their earlier experience.
Dusteria stared, her heartbeat racing. There was something familiar in the girl’s aura, a feeling deeply etched in her memory.
"Stop right there! Don’t take another step!" Crest shouted, trying to sound strong, though his voice shook slightly.
The girl stopped with a patient sigh, gently adjusting her skull.
"Geez, loud much? You’re totally killing the mood here," she said playfully. "But you know, Mother always said food is the key to comprehension. Sooo... enjoy your meal."
Slowly, she lifted the pig skull mask slightly, revealing a face of astonishing beauty—flawless skin, delicate features, and an enchanting smile.
But the moment she opened her left eye, fear descended once again.
A dark crimson iris encircled by an intricately detailed pentagram, surrounded by small, glowing symbols, pulsing gently.
Instantly, the adventurers facing her felt their hearts pound violently.
Their bodies twisted uncontrollably as they collapsed to the ground, screaming and clawing at themselves.
Madness
The party members attacked each other, biting shoulders, limbs, and necks in desperation.
Some crawled frantically toward the bear corpses, savagely biting into fresh wounds, greedily drinking the strange, purple blood.
Chaos echoed through the air with screams, the tearing of flesh, and the frantic gnashing of teeth.
Crest, Will, Sienna, and Dusteria stood frozen, helpless witnesses to the horrific madness.
Dusteria, overwhelmed by the scene, finally broke down, releasing a piercing scream that was quickly swallowed by the terrifying frenzy around them.
In the meantime, far from this chaos, Bel exhaled slowly, releasing a faint red mist from his mouth.
Around him, the aftermath of a massacre.
Snow painted in shades of dark purple, bodies of ice monsters torn apart, burned and broken.
The lingering embers from his flames smoldered gently in patches across the battlefield.
Standing a safe distance away, Lyraen and Cassandra stared at the scene, stunned.

Bel’s eyes narrowed slightly as he glanced at his status, annoyed at how much mana he’d used up right before facing the dungeon’s boss.
He stretched his arms, shaking off his frustration. Despite his low mana, he already had an easy way to deal with it: his unallocated points.
His mana was low, and increasing his intelligence seemed logical.
But something else caught his attention, his Pressure.
Now, with his new Conceal skill, he could hide his presence when needed, so there was no harm increasing it, right?
He grinned. Why not test how amazing his power could really become?
Determined, he placed 10 points into Pressure.
Suddenly, a massive surge of red aura burst from his body, roaring upwards into the sky like a fiery pillar.
Lyraen et Cassandra jumped in surprise, watching the eruption of red.
The ground trembled beneath Bel, and snow flew wildly in every direction.
Far off, the strange girl with the pig skull stopped abruptly, tilting her head curiously at the distant red glow.
Bel’s power was clearly visible from far away, as a red line rushing to the sky.
"Wow, someone had quite a tasty meal!" she laughed softly, scratching the tip of her pig skull thoughtfully. "Guess he’s enjoying himself. Well, I hope you have a good excuse!"
With a playful shrug, she continued walking, humming lightly to herself.
Soon after, the eruption stopped, leaving only a red smoke spreading around.
Lyraen and Cassandra rushed toward Bel, their boots crunching against the scorched snow.
They slowed down several meters away.
Bel hovered calmly in the air, his long white hair flowing like silk. A heavy pressure blanketed the area, but he wasn’t aggressive.
He looked serene, too serene.

He looked down at his hands, and then he clenched them tightly.
"This... this changes everything."
Without meaning to, he released a powerful burst of aura in all directions, a crimson wave rushing out like a pulse.
The wind howled briefly, the snow kicked up.
He grinned, eyes wide with awe.
"Incredible... this solves the problem with mana... and even stamina and healing! I can recover them all even in battle..."
Bel landed softly on the snow, crossing his arms. His mind shifted into strategy mode.
With his toxic skill, he could poison an enemy and let the fight drag out. Pair it with BURN, and the damage would stack constantly.
His regeneration would let him outlast anything. He was genuinely excited to try it.
Then, suddenly, his eyes widened. His head snapped to the side.
He felt it, the perfect target.
The boss.
Cassandra and Lyraen stood frozen, eyes wide in awe. Cassandra blinked first.
"Hum... Mister Ir... I mean, Bel?"
Lyraen echoed, voice barely a whisper.
"Bel...?"
He slowly turned toward the source of the energy he felt.
"I’m ready for the boss now."
He walked between them, so simply, while they stood there, unsure what to say.
Then Lyraen called out hesitantly.
"Bel... what... what exactly are you?"
Bel paused.
Cassandra’s eyes widened. She grabbed Lyraen’s hand quickly, shaking her head with a nervous laugh.
"Sorry! She’s just curious! We’ll stop bothering you now. We can move on. Really!"
Bel turned halfway, looking at them for a moment. They both trembled slightly under his gaze.
Then his expression softened. He smiled, warmer this time, his voice lighter.
"Relax. I’m just teasing you. What am I? I’m a lucky thing."
He turned and began walking forward.
Lyraen blinked. Cassandra let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding.
The two girls exchanged a quick look, then smiled faintly and hurried to follow him.
