Dragon Game: All My Dragons Are Ranked 'SSS'
Chapter 25: Boss Monster! [1]

Chapter 25: Boss Monster! [1]

But that was the whole point of the game!

Isn’t that why it was called Dragon game?

Frankly, this stage was just to prove how the players would do without their dragons.

It was to test their combat abilities as most players became OP because of their dragons when in reality they weren’t so good at combat.

But the test to decide if the players could fight was against the boss of the skeleton monsters?

Hard life...

By boss, it meant that the monster was a fusion of all ranks, possessing the abilities of each rank and perhaps it was more enhanced?

Why did the game hate them so much!

Why!

Always trying to make things hard!

This was the same in reality though. Like when you’re playing a video game, there’s a certain stage you reach the game becomes way too hard and difficult to go through. That was what the game game system was doing to them at this point.

[Fight well players and avoid dying so quickly!]

[Good luck players!]

Those were the last words from the voice as it was suddenly gone.

’The fuck with the voice,’ Drahon thought inwardly.

Although it seemed to wish them luck, it might be secretly hoping for their downfall.

There was still a lot the players needed to learn about the game though. About its brutality!

It wasn’t that any of the players had good lives outside of it but then, they had hoped they were entering to ride dragons and escape reality but instead they were facing something more worse than it.

And then, expecting the boss monster to show up anytime now...

Boom!

Mid air, bones cracked together, rising from the now liquid corpse of the fallen monsters. Hundreds of skeletons snapped in the air, twisting and fusing into one towering abomination.

Its body was a warped blend of skulls and rough-looking bones. It looked like one of those boss monsters you’d find at end levels in video games.

Its arms dragged across the ground, ending in claws made from sharpened ribs, and its ribcage radiated a sickly red glow—like something alive was trapped inside.

And it was actually. Drahon squinted his eyes and focused on the chest, trying to see what was there. Although he didn’t quite see the glowing stuff as the ribs concealed it quite well and it was just too ’glowy’ to make something off, he at least gave (in his mind) a correct guess of what was in there.

It was the heart that controlled the movement of its body. Like a normal human being, its heart was a main source of what kept it alive.

But unlike the human body which required other things to function (like your brain, your kidney and all that), this actually relied on the glowing stuff inside of it.

And that was what Drahon decided would be its weakness. If he could summon dragons here, he would have summoned the barbarian dragon to do the job of burning this monster to ashes, or even both of his dragons if it got too tough.

But it was restricted.

He decided to confirm on that though, he tried summoning the fire dragon but nothing happened. He tried again and when nothing happened, he decided they were now on their own and if they couldn’t fight this large monster and defeat it, that would be their end as the monster wasn’t smiling at all.

A deep, guttural roar ripped out of its mouth, blasting wind so fierce it threw dust and players alike across the place and some hit their heads on trees.

The players stood up immediately and instantly summoned their weapons. Ellen had an axe, Jeff had a sword, Vanyra a spear-looking weapon, Cody a cool-looking axe, Justin had two swords and Dan had an arrow which was very useless at this point.

If Dan was to shoot at the monster, it would do nothing except the rank of the weapon was higher. If it was Tier F, C, D and B, he was dead already as a shot from the arrow wouldn’t even scratch a skeleton monster.

If it was Tier A, then he had a chance. The arrows might distract by creating little pains. But if it was a Tier S or SSS, then luck was on his side. A Tier S was capable of piercing through a surface of bone and SSS could do much more than that.

The players all stood on a line now, staring at the large and monolithic monster.

It moved closer to them and they decided that if they were to fight something as menacing as this without their dragon, then they needed to knew what it could do.

[Boss Monster Detected]

Name: Skeleton Boss Monster

Type: Fusion Undead

Level: ???

Power Rating: Brutality-Class

Threat Scale: Devastation Tier

[Powerful Roar – Unleashes a massive gust that hurls players off their feet.]

[Earthsplitter Stomp – Cracks the battlefield, knocking up enemies in a wide radius.]

[Savage Instinct – Fights with ruthless aggression, showing no mercy.]

[Tactical Mind – Thinks like a human commander, adapts mid-fight, and exploits weaknesses.]

[Fusion Core Brain – Operates on high IQ intelligence, capable of predicting player movement.]

A sense of dread crawled over the players.

This Boss Monster was alarmingly strong and powerful. How were they going to defeat something as strong as this.

They all exchanged glances, gripping their weapons very tight.

The monster was very near.

"Who’s good at combat here?" Drahon asked the players very quickly, like he was rapping, although lowering his voice.

They shrugged.

"We’re amateurs," Vanyra said, speaking for everyone.

Drahon sighed, looking forward, the monster who was now very close to them and from the looks of things, it was about to give out another roar.

Drahon realized there was no more time to waste and he went straight to the point:

"The—"

The monster roared, without a warning:

"ROARRR!"

It sent the players off their feet and Drahon made a face, expecting to feel pain by hitting his head on a tree.

Although he felt pain, it wasn’t from hitting his head on a tree, it was from landing face flat to the ground.

He looked around and saw that the trees were now distant, a surprise actually as the trees were closer before.

The players fell closer to him and he looked at them, trying to reach for his sword which fell a bit far from him.

But the monster wasn’t done, it was storming their way.

Drahon decided he had to tell the players the weak spot of the dragon, perhaps they might come up with a plan to take it down.

"The monster’s weak point is the glowing stuff in its goddamn chest. We get it out and perhaps it dies," Drahon said in low voice desperately so the monster doesn’t hear, as it was likely to understand what he was saying due to its high IQ.

Drahon spat on the ground:

"I mean, no one should die again. This is level one and it ought to be simple!"
