Chapter 1053: Return To The Fleet
TL: GoldenLung
After all, Lan Xuanyu was still young and not part of the academy's senior leadership. The decision passed by the Sea God Pavilion was largely due to his connection with Tang Wulin. To gain the academy's full approval, this method still needed to be tested.
The field was the only standard by which truth was tested. Only by attempting it can they determine whether this method was viable.
Therefore, after consulting with the plant-type soul beast leaders, the Sea God Pavilion sent out one-third of the plant soul beasts. The competition for these limited slots was fierce—nearly resulting in physical altercations among the plant leaders. In the end, the final candidates were decided through mediation by Elder Shu and several god-level plant-type soul beasts.
At this point, the Thirty-Three Sky Wings warship was abuzz with activity. Fortunately, plant-type soul beasts were relatively calm and not prone to noise. Alongside them on this journey was Elder Shu himself.
As the leader of the School of Life, despite his rapidly fading life force and approaching end, Elder Shu said he hoped to witness a miracle in his remaining days. The academy approved his request to accompany Lan Xuanyu and his team—after all, there had to be at least one god-level powerhouse from the academy on board, and Elder Shu was the perfect fit.
Elder Shu also had his own intentions. Lan Xuanyu was maturing and becoming stronger, gaining more recognition within the School of Life and increasing his influence in the academy. As his likely successor, Elder Shu planned to support him on this critical journey.
Thus, while there had been only seven people aboard the warship on the return trip, this time, as they headed back to the 7th Fleet's territory, there were fifty-three.
Inside the Thirty-Three Sky Wings warship, some plant-type soul beasts had to sit on the floor due to the limited space.
At this point, the Treasure Seeking Beast played an important role. All plants seemed to have a natural reverence for it. Lan Xuanyu simply let it roam freely outside his body, knowing that as long as it stayed nearby, it would be fine. The Treasure Seeking Beast was more than happy with this arrangement.Hearing the many plant leaders respectfully calling it “Lord Bao,” it seemed to return to its former glory as the nursery overseer in the Divine Realm. Even its demeanor became slightly smug.
On the return journey, Lan Xuanyu did not personally pilot the warship. Instead, he left command to Tang Yuge and went into a resting chamber for meditation and cultivation to stabilize his recent advancement.
With Tang Wulin’s assistance, his foundation had solidified quickly, but it still needed time to settle.
After exiting Tang Wulin’s room, Lan Xuanyu realized that what had felt like a long cultivation session had only lasted two days outside—a testament to the power of Tang Wulin’s Time Reversal Domain.
Tang Wulin reminded him to continue stabilizing his power and adapt fully to his enhanced body and abilities.
During meditation, Lan Xuanyu increasingly appreciated the benefits brought by the Nirvanic Divine Lightning. Its tempering effect continuously strengthened his body. Though violent, it contained the universe’s most fundamental force—creation.
Under this influence, his previously unstable breakthrough was solidified, and his control over his power improved.
Without Tang Wulin present, Lan Xuanyu no longer dared to train to the brink with the Divine Lightning. Instead, he created small elemental storm vortices and transformed them into Nirvanic Divine Lightning to temper his body—something he could manage safely.
The only issue was that once the tempering was complete, the thunder had to be released—it couldn’t be stored in his body.
Following Tang Wulin’s guidance, Lan Xuanyu trained calmly, tempering his body meridian by meridian with the Divine Lightning, never rushing. Without the safety net of the Time Reversal Domain, any mistake could be fatal. The lightning he generated now was only a tenth the size of what he used with Tang Wulin, but even so, he handled it with extreme care. When finished, he would exit the ship temporarily to release the lightning into space.
Because the Divine Lightning was smaller, he didn’t have to expel it as frequently. He could train for a full day each time.
The long space journey passed quickly through such cultivation. Not only Lan Xuanyu, but his companions also benefited immensely. The presence of forty-five hundred-thousand-year plant soul beasts made the ship’s life force density higher than even that of the Eternal Sky City—due to the limited space.
Breathing such life-rich air while cultivating yielded twice the results with half the effort—and this was without any intentional assistance from the soul beasts.
Lan Xuanyu had already made an agreement with them: after absorbing life energy on Celestial Dragon Planet, they would help the Thirty-Three Sky Wings team train by supplying them with life energy tailored to their needs.
As they once again approached the 7th Fleet’s fleet, the Thirty-Three Sky Wings warship deactivated its cloaking. Lan Xuanyu ended his cultivation and returned to the main control room.
“Elder Shu,” Lan Xuanyu nodded to him.
Elder Shu replied, “We can begin. Everyone, please.”
The plant soul beast leaders all stood and saluted Lan Xuanyu.
He raised his right hand, and a soft glow emanated from the Ring of Fate.
A remarkable scene unfolded: the plant leaders quietly merged into the Ring of Fate and disappeared one by one.
Even Elder Shu entered the ring last.
The Ring of Fate did far more than just store items. As the School of Life’s token—wielded by its leader—it had a unique ability no other spatial device could replicate: storing living beings.
Even Elder Shu could not fully explain its origins—it came from the Eternal Tree itself. Though uncomfortable and devoid of replenishing energy, it could keep living beings safe for short periods.
The academy did not want the military to know about this operation. After all, so many hundred-thousand-year-old plant soul beasts were an irresistible temptation to any strong individual and could not be exposed.
As for Elder Shu, he had already coordinated with the Treasure Seeking Beast. Thanks to its illusionary powers, it could disguise Elder Shu sufficiently. Elder Shu himself was no longer entirely human—part of his body had plantified to extend his life. His life energy was extremely pure. On the life-rich Celestial Dragon Planet, hiding his identity would be relatively easy.
Visiting Celestial Dragon Planet was one of his key goals. Hearing was not enough—he had to see it with his own eyes and bear witness to this operation on behalf of the academy.
Once all forty-six were stored in the Ring of Fate, the warship suddenly felt much more spacious.
The 7th Fleet sent a reception command. Soon, a dedicated escort ship arrived to guide them back to the Dragon Three warship.
Once docked, Lan Xuanyu and his team disembarked and rode a shuttle back to their residence.
The living area aboard Dragon Three remained as it had been—the war had temporarily ceased. Yes, following negotiations, both sides had paused the fighting.
Naturally, the Douluo Federation had come out ahead. But as for what exactly they gained from the Dragon Horse Galaxy, Lan Xuanyu didn’t know. That was classified information.
