Chapter 1047: Tang Wulin, Master of the Sea God Pavilion
TL: GoldenLung
Wang Tianyu, Elder Shu, and Lan Xuanyu left the Immortal Spirit Land together, while the other six remained to cultivate. Undoubtedly, this was an even better place than the Eternal Tree Houses. Cultivating in the Immortal Spirit Land meant breathing in the fragrant medicinal aromas of over a hundred top-tier heavenly and earthly treasures!
Once outside, Wang Tianyu couldn’t help but give Elder Shu a bitter smile. “I really don’t want to be this kid’s liaison anymore. He’s just too unpredictable.”
Elder Shu laughed heartily. “Those who don’t stir up trouble are mediocre. The more capable someone is at causing a ruckus, the further they go. Stirring things up is good—young people should be like that.”
Wang Tianyu glanced at Lan Xuanyu, who stood respectfully nearby. His hands itched…
But he had to admit that it was precisely because of this “ruckus” that Lan Xuanyu’s position in the Academy had become increasingly important—especially after he returned with the Space Origin Crystals. This contribution was already beyond what any Academy reward could match.
If Lan Xuanyu succeeded in taking away all non-god-level, hundred-thousand-year plant-type powerhouses to transfer life energy for the Eternal Tree, his status would soar. He wouldn’t even need to compete for a spot among the Seven Shrek Monsters.
After all, competition was simply a matter of strength and merit. In terms of strength, Lan Xuanyu might still be lacking. But in terms of merit—whether for the Academy, Tang Sect, or even the entire Federation—who could rival him? Rumor had it that due to the huge gains from his mission to Celestial Dragon Planet, and the fact he would continue infiltrating there, the War God Hall was considering promoting him directly to the Eighth War God. Even Wang Tianyu himself wasn’t one.
Wang Tianyu even felt that with Lan Xuanyu’s growth, the entire Dragon Horse Galaxy was in for a wild ride—especially with how fast Lan Xuanyu was developing.
The Sea God Pavilion needed to reconvene its senior members, so Lan Xuanyu returned first to Tang Wulin’s quarters.Tang Wulin had already returned. Seeing Lan Xuanyu walk in, he chuckled. “Looks like you’ve stirred up trouble again?”
Lan Xuanyu said a bit awkwardly, “Uncle Le, you have to protect me—I think Pavilion Master Wang was giving me a scary look.”
Tang Wulin laughed heartily. “They just need time to adjust. The issue with the Space Worm has been resolved. The old demons and I agreed to let it stay there. With it around, any small space will remain stable. It can fully support all the subspaces backed by the Eternal Tree—and even expand them. The Spaceborne Clan never truly utilized its full potential. Producing Space Origin Crystals is great, but having it live in a small space that continuously strengthens and expands is just as valuable. So, what did you do this time?”
Lan Xuanyu recounted what had happened in the Immortal Spirit Land.
Tang Wulin’s eyes lit up slightly as he nodded. “Very good—this is an excellent opportunity. That Treasure Seeking Beast of yours is more capable than I imagined. If it can bring back sufficient planet-level life energy for the Eternal Tree—especially energy of a higher grade—it would greatly aid the Eternal Tree’s evolution. I support this. I’ll attend the Sea God Pavilion meeting with you.”
“That’s great!” Lan Xuanyu couldn’t help but feel excited. He was now eager to return to Celestial Dragon Planet. A resource-rich place where he could experiment freely? What a dream!
Though Lan Xuanyu didn’t fully grasp the extent of Tang Wulin’s current influence on the Academy, based on his legendary past, it was surely significant. What he didn’t know was how the Academy and Tang Sect currently viewed Tang Wulin’s past contributions.
Lan Xuanyu stayed in Tang Wulin’s room, standing before the massive Silver Dragon Egg. He focused, sensing its changes. The abundant life force inside comforted him.
He still couldn’t call Uncle Le by the name he truly wanted—perhaps because their family hadn’t reunited yet. That would have to wait until Teacher Nana awoke. “Teacher Nana… Mom… when will you wake up?”
Tang Wulin stood silently beside his son, watching both him and the enormous dragon egg. His heart was filled with countless emotions.
He now understood that the reason he hadn’t recalled the past was due to trauma—his mind’s natural defense, unwilling to revisit memories. Deep down, he believed that he and she could never be together.
But seeing Guyuena again had triggered his recovery. When he learned she had fallen into a star, he experienced unspeakable anguish. His memories began to return as he broke the seventeenth seal.
He now knew there was no need to run anymore. The problem that once kept them apart no longer existed. If she woke up, they could be together again. He longed for that day as well.
Wake up, Guyue… Wake up, Nana…
Father and son stood silently by the Silver Dragon Egg. After who knows how long, a melodious voice came from outside the door:
“Your son’s even more of a troublemaker than you were. You caused trouble passively—he does it actively. If he weren’t your son, I’d have to rein him in.”
Tang Wulin smiled. “That’s because he’s better than I was. The Sea God Pavilion meeting is starting?”
“Yes, all for him.” The Sea God Pavilion Master’s voice came from outside, but she didn’t enter.
“I’ll attend too,” Tang Wulin said softly, glancing at Lan Xuanyu.
The woman outside was silent for a moment, then replied, “So you’re finally willing to attend. Come.”
Tang Wulin stepped out with Lan Xuanyu. The Pavilion Master was already waiting outside. She followed half a step behind Tang Wulin—it was a natural movement.
Lan Xuanyu noticed this detail and felt an indescribable sense of pride.
For many boys, their first hero is their father. Who wouldn’t want a strong father?
The three descended the stairs and arrived at the simple Sea God Pavilion meeting table.
Tang Wulin looked at the Pavilion Master. She nodded without hesitation. “Other than that seat, no other in this place is worthy of you.”
“Alright.” Tang Wulin didn’t stand on ceremony. He calmly walked toward the main seat.
The Pavilion members had already gathered—including the Tang Sect’s Douluo Hall Master and Vice-Master. Everyone stood up when Tang Wulin and the Pavilion Master arrived.
Lan Xuanyu remained at the end of the table, directly opposite Tang Wulin.
“Hello, everyone,” Tang Wulin greeted with a smile, pressing down with both hands in a calming gesture, then sat at the main seat.
Lan Xuanyu’s blood surged. That seat—one even the Pavilion Master hadn’t dared to take—was meant for Uncle Le.
As Tang Wulin sat, he felt a strange sense of belonging, as if the seat had always been his.
Everyone else sat down, except for two people.
One was the Pavilion Master, whose body trembled slightly as she looked at Tang Wulin. She wore a mask, so her expression was hidden.
Across from her, Elder Yi trembled even more. Tears streamed down his face as he choked out, “You… you’ve finally returned.”
Tang Wulin looked at him and smiled. “Zichen, thank you for your years of hard work.”
“Seeing you return… it’s wonderful.” Yi Zichen stepped from his seat and bowed deeply to Tang Wulin.
Tang Wulin sighed. “Time flies. A thousand years gone in a flash. I still remember what you looked like back then. You were one of the finest of your generation. Sit.”
“Yes, sir.” Yi Zichen respectfully returned to his seat.
The room fell silent. Everyone’s gaze was on Tang Wulin. Most didn’t know him personally, but who hadn’t heard of the legend of Tang Wulin, the Golden Dragon Moon Song?
Today, Tang Wulin had returned—to Shrek Academy, to Tang Sect. In history, he was the only one to serve simultaneously as the Sea God Pavilion Master and the Tang Sect Leader.
