Chapter 321: Chapter 321: Make Him Hide It Well
Witnessing Wufu’s ferocity, Lady Liang was so frightened that her face turned deathly pale and her feet involuntarily retreated two steps; she allowed Madam Lu to faint on the ground without daring to help her, her heartbeat racing faster than ever.
Old Lady Zhou had seen such behavior before; thus, even when she saw Wufu incapacitate Madam Lu with a single move, she was startled but rather more composed than Lady Liang.
If what Wufu said was true, then her not having killed anyone yet was a blessing in disguise.
Zhou Dajun, that damned meathead, he dared...
Compared to Madam Lu fainting, Old Lady Zhou couldn’t maintain her composure over the thought of Zhou Dajun attempting to assault his own aunt; such an act deserved to be struck by lightning, a disgrace!
That beast, he had indeed pierced the heavens!
Wufu, upon not finding anyone at the Old Zhou family’s house, knew that Zhou Dajun had been hidden elsewhere, so she didn’t linger.
"Make sure Zhou Dajun hides well, don’t let me find him, otherwise..." Wufu sneered, leaving her sentence unfinished, but the implication was clear.
Feeling the full weight of the threat in her words, Old Lady Zhou’s heart quivered, and she gritted her teeth, "What more do you want to do? Isn’t rampaging around enough?" The whole house had been smashed up by her.
Wufu sneered mockingly, "Enough? Zhou Dajun doesn’t know how to act like a human, only like an animal, so he should be treated like one."
"You..."
Wufu continued, "I advise you to cover this up. If word gets out that your son was disrespectful to his own aunt, does he still expect to live as a person? Can he still wear his scholar’s robe and strut about? Can the Zhou family still face anyone?"
As for herself, once a daughter is married off, she’s like water thrown out. If this matter really gets out, she could simply take the Zhou family and fly far away, find a place where they are unknown and live perhaps even more comfortably.
She believed, with her own abilities, she could live well anywhere.
However, the Old Zhou family couldn’t do that; their roots were here, and where could they go?
Old Lady Zhou’s heart lurched.
Wufu huffed and strode away.
Opening the door, outside, Zhou Xiuer stood with a terrified face, holding onto her little brother. When she saw Wufu, she hastily retreated several steps.
Wufu didn’t do anything to her; the indebted had heads, the creditors had owners, and the one she had to settle accounts with was Zhou Dajun.
As for Madam Lu, Wufu had laid hands on her because she didn’t know how to speak or act as a mother.
"Mother, mother, what’s wrong with you?" Seeing Madam Lu lying on the ground, Zhou Xiuer quickly ran over.
It was only then that Old Lady Zhou came to her senses, her head throbbing in pain. She instructed her daughter-in-law, "Hurry up and find your husband to come back."
Lady Liang nodded and rushed out the door anxiously; this matter was no trivial issue.
Shaken by Zhou Xiuer, Madam Lu slowly opened her eyes, her mouth moved, but she was in so much pain that tears flowed freely. She wanted to speak but couldn’t utter a word; her jaw hurt too much. She could only make muffled whimpers, her eyes filled with terror and confusion.
Seeing her in this state, Old Lady Zhou was furious to the point of almost wanting to kick her twice but knew now was not the time for rash actions.
"Xiuxiu, go and get Doctor Cheng," Old Lady Zhou said through clenched teeth.
She couldn’t fathom how that wretched girl had managed to silence Madam Lu; her methods were too cruel.
Madam Lu, disheveled and weeping, clutched at her mother-in-law’s feet, pointing to herself and crying out inarticulately, looking up at her with eyes that seemed to plead, "What’s happened to me? I can’t speak."
Old Lady Zhou harshly kicked her away, "If you’re not dead, then get up by yourself." With that, she stormed back into the house, only to see her room in complete disarray; her temples throbbed violently once again.
How to conclude this affair was now a matter that needed careful deliberation.
