Chapter 313: Chapter 313 The Justice Must Be Sought
Out of the corner of her eye, Wufu noticed that Madam Zhou was stirring and immediately moved closer.
"Mother?"
Madam Zhou’s expression was one of intense pain, her hands grasping wildly in the air as she cried out, "Beast, beast... I am your aunt... your aunt. Beast."
Upon hearing this, both Wufu and Hongyu’s faces changed.
Wufu glared at Hongyu first, and Hongyu covered her mouth with both hands, her eyes filled with terror.
"I returned in time; mother was not violated," Wufu said in a mild tone.
Hongyu’s eyes briefly brightened, but she continued to look at Madam Zhou.
Madam Zhou was clearly still not lucid, her face twisted in pain as she babbled on.
Wufu took her hand, softly calling out, "Mother, it’s all right, everything is fine, I’m here, Wufu is here."
With her hand in Wufu’s, Madam Zhou calmed down, her eyelids fluttered a few times, and she slowly opened her eyes.
What she saw were her daughter’s eyes brimming with worry. Madam Zhou was somewhat dazed, "Wufu?"
"Yes, I’m here."
Hearing the familiar voice, really her daughter’s, Madam Zhou’s tears fell like beads, and she burst into crying, "Wufu, my Wufu."
The sound of her crying was pitiful and heart-wrenching; Wufu felt a warmth in her eyes as she hugged her mother, gently patting her to comfort, "It’s all right now, I’m here, nobody will bully you. Don’t worry, I will seek justice for you."
But Madam Zhou cried uncontrollably.
Wufu let her cry, giving Hongyu a knowing look, "Boil some hot water, let mother wash her face, and then bring some water over."
Busy with tears in her eyes, Hongyu said, "This servant will go right away."
When Madam Zhou’s crying had subsided somewhat, Wufu used a handkerchief to wipe away her tears, consoling her, "Mother, stop crying, you have a wound on your head, you shouldn’t exert yourself, you need to rest well."
Only then did Madam Zhou realize she felt dizzy and shaky, her face turning even paler, lips devoid of color.
Lying back down on the bed, her tears continued to fall ceaselessly.
"Mother, sleep for a while. As for other matters, let’s talk about them after you feel better, alright?" Wufu said, looking at her mother’s swollen eyes, red as peaches, the white bandage on her forehead striking, anger burning furiously within her.
Madam Zhou grasped her hand firmly, her face showing difficulty in asking, "Wufu, am I... am I..."
She clutched her robe at the collar, her eyes filled with fear and shame.
Wufu understood immediately and comforted her, "It’s alright, you are fine; it’s just a head injury, nothing else."
Madam Zhou’s taut heart relaxed all at once, steadying her spirit and moving her body slightly. She was a woman who had known intimacy, she would have felt if she had been violated.
Apart from a headache and feeling dizzy, it seemed there was indeed nothing else, but the thought of what that beast wanted to do to her made Madam Zhou wish she could crush her teeth together in hatred.
That beast, how could he dare, how dare he covet her?
She was his own aunt, for heaven’s sake!
Madam Zhou felt anger and hatred swirling, tears flowing freely, grief-stricken and saddened by the thought of her helplessness, she wished she could have died on the spot.
"Mother, stop thinking about it," Wufu touched her face, saying, "You rest assured, I will obtain justice for you. Zhou Dajun, if he dares commit the crime, he will face the consequences!"
Hearing that name, Zhou Dajun, Madam Zhou shuddered violently, looking at Wufu in disbelief.
"Wufu, do you, do you know?" Madam Zhou felt despair.
What to do, Wufu knew. What should she do? Would her daughter despise her now? It wasn’t someone else, but her own nephew. How would Wufu perceive her?
