Chapter 303: Chapter 303: The First Murder
People who lived on the mountain and depended on the mountain for their livelihood were mostly simple and good-natured. Therefore, Wufu had never intended to take a life. If the other party understood the situation and left, she wouldn’t commit any more killing.
However, in the mountains, there were also those who hadn’t been civilized and had lost their conscience. They were willing to murder and rob for material gain—wild, uncivilized, knowing only that what caught their eye belonged to them.
The hunter before her was the latter—barbaric, ruthless, greedy, and unrepentant.
Sparing him did not fill him with gratitude; instead, it ignited a trace of mercilessness at the bottom of his heart. Conscience? What was that? Such a thing did not exist for hunters in the mountains.
All he wanted was the tiger and the silver. As for people, if they didn’t obey, then kill them. With silver, he could buy another wife to bring back to the mountain and father children.
So, the hunter stood up and quietly drew a cold and gleaming dagger from behind his waist, his eyes flickering with a fierce and cold intent to kill.
Wufu seemed not to notice and continued walking forward.
In the dense forest, as the wind blew and the treetops swayed, several people stood in a concealed spot on a hillside, watching the scene coldly.
Seeing the murderous intent in the hunter’s eyes, one of the men started breathing heavily and quickly turned to the young man in dark clothes beside him, "My lord?"
If they didn’t help, Little Fox would be at a disadvantage.
The young man lifted his hand slightly, "Let’s wait and see."
Wait and see? See what she would do, what she was capable of.
The man stopped moving and only clenched his fist, while the others showed excitement. Among them was a very young one who held an iron piece shaped like a plum blossom. If one looked closely, they would see that the iron piece was tinged with green.
Unaware that his every move was being watched, the hunter suddenly dashed forward, his dagger raised high, aiming for Wufu’s back.
"Miss!" Liu Jin shouted, rushing over.
Just as the dagger was about to pierce her back, the hunter’s vision blurred, his neck cooled, and something seemed to splash out violently.
He looked down but couldn’t see anything, yet he knew clearly what that splashing thing was.
It was his blood.
His hand loosened, and the dagger fell to the ground. He covered his neck with both hands, where a gash had been opened by Wufu.
"You... you..." The hunter staggered backward, clutching his neck and looking at the small girl with wide, terrified eyes.
She stood there, calmly wiping the blood that had splashed onto her face with the back of her hand. In the other hand, she held a knife soaked in blood.
The knife pointed downward, and the red blood slowly dripped from its tip onto the grass, one drop, two drops...
The girl lifted her eyes, her gaze was clear and cold, without a hint of warmth.
The hunter’s eyes bulged as he stumbled back two steps before collapsing backward.
Who was she? A young girl was so vicious. She was an Asura from Hell, a malevolent spirit.
The hunter clutched his neck tightly but couldn’t stem the flow of blood. He felt his strength ebbing away little by little. As he looked at the patch of blue sky above, it grew darker and darker. He wouldn’t see such blue sky again—he was unwilling to accept this.
Wufu watched as the hunter’s eyes bulged, dying with resentment, and she sighed.
"This knife has finally tasted blood, taken a life," she looked at the cold gleam at the tip of the knife and pursed her lips.
This was her first time killing someone since she arrived in this era.
