Chapter 246: Chapter 246 Clues

Ah Jiu didn’t find it too surprising to see Liu Jin arrive alone, but she did become somewhat curious when she heard him say that Miss Wufu was busy with something.

"What is your mistress so busy with that she can’t even bring you, her servant, along?" Ah Jiu asked with a smile.

Liu Jin said, "This time, when we left the county town, only I came with the mistress. Now, because she is tied up with some trivial matters, she couldn’t come and specifically sent me to deliver the message."

He didn’t say what Wufu was busy with.

"When did you start following your mistress?" Ah Jiu asked again.

The last time I saw her, this guy wasn’t around. When did she get herself a male servant?

"It’s been a month or two."

Ah Jiu laughed and, picking up her tea cup, said, "Take him down and serve him some snacks before he leaves."

Yuan Ye immediately had someone escort Liu Jin out and then returned to Ah Jiu’s side to attend to her.

"Sir, that Miss Wufu really puts on quite the airs," complaining that they couldn’t even invite her.

Ah Jiu said, "Perhaps she really had something to do." Then he glanced at the Da Hong Pao that had been poured again, and said, "It’s a shame to waste such good tea."

"It’s that girl who’s not fortunate enough," Yuan Ye snorted coldly.

"It’s just a cup of tea. How can it be a matter of fortune or not?" Ah Jiu, however, laughed and said, "I think she has quite good fortune. This male servant she got is not bad at all."

"Indeed, he’s quite sharp," Yuan Ye agreed.

As a male servant, loyalty, sharpness, and the ability to read a room are prized skills. The more skills you have, the more you’re valued by those above you. After all, no one likes a fool, and they’re not easy to use either, are they?

Wufu sneezed, touching her nose. Who was speaking ill of her?

At this moment, she was in a small tea hut in the poverty-stricken area of West City, drinking tea.

Sitting beside her was the Tea Lady, the owner of the hut, who was busily spinning a tale about Widow Song’s scandalous affairs.

Widow Song, that was the third victim of the Flower-Picking Thief, and Wufu was here to look for clues.

As for her own business, it was nothing special. After all, being a widow, she couldn’t stand the loneliness and had men rotating in and out of her life, occasionally sweet-talking some money to spend and dress herself up.

"Hey, always dressed so revealingly, exposing almost half her bust, how could she not attract hate? Look, such seduction, and now she’s even lost her life because of it," the Tea Lady clucked her tongue and said.

"Isn’t that the truth? By the sound of it, Widow Song must have been quite pretty, right? And a good person too?" Lady Fu followed with a sigh and then asked.

"Pretty? Not really, just relying on showing skin. Otherwise, not to mention her face, just that fox-like sultry smell on her, nobody could stand it," the Tea Lady spat.

"Oh? What do you mean by that?"

"That fox-like sultry smell... it’s this..." The Tea Lady lifted her arm and pointed at her armpit, saying, "It’s stinking bad, during the cold it’s somewhat bearable, but in the heat, geez, I have to cover my nose when she walks past my tea hut."

Pfft.

Lady Fu spat out a mouthful of tea, her mouth twitching slightly, body odor, huh.

The Tea Lady chuckled hehe, glanced around the street with a sweep of her eyes, her face darkening a bit.

Lady Fu followed her gaze but didn’t see anything of note.

"Really bad luck, that Coffin Guy walks by here every day; no wonder my tea hut doesn’t see much business, so unlucky," the Tea Lady flung the cloth she was using to wipe the table and said to Lady Fu, "Miss, would you like me to bring you a couple of pancakes?"

"Sure," Lady Fu smiled, "Tea Lady, what is this Coffin Guy?"

"What else? He’s from the mortuary, always hanging around coffins and the dead, isn’t he just a Coffin Guy?" The Tea Lady snorted and waddled off to take care of business.
