Chapter 169: Chapter 169: Don’t Meddle in Idle Affairs
"Seeking death? Who’s seeking death is still unknown!"
Had it been anyone else, that Big Man’s slap would have surely knocked them unconscious, and Wufu, with his small frame, would have been no exception. Yet, Wufu trained tirelessly every day, honing his martial arts skills. If he had been hit like that, all those days of training would have been in vain.
Wufu, nimble and quick, dodged, causing the Big Man to stagger and nearly fall. Angrily embarrassed, he steadied himself and turned around to strike at Wufu once more.
But he forgot that Wufu had snatched his whip. All he saw was Wufu elegantly twirling the whip, snapping it to the ground with a crack, his wrist flicking, sending the whip slithering like a snake towards the Big Man’s hand.
With a swift loop and pull, Wufu yanked the Big Man close to him, delivered two resounding slaps to his face, and then swept his leg to the ground. Before he could react, Wufu was already stepping on his chest.
"Let’s talk nicely, no need for violence," Wufu said coldly.
Who’s the one starting the fight, dammit, that stinky girl has such skills? The Big Man, now even angrier, yelled out, "What, is everyone dead? Come over here."
People began running over, pointing and shouting at Wufu.
Seeing this, the grocery store owner hurried out and stood in front of Wufu, saying, "Gentlemen, it’s all a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding!" Inside, he was terrified, never expecting this auntie to meddle like this!
In fact, Wufu wasn’t the type to meddle. It was just that the Big Man had crossed her line.
"Who are you, and why aren’t you letting go of our boss?" Those two henchmen watched Wufu pin down the Big Man single-handedly with growing apprehension.
It wasn’t that they thought a girl like Wufu was harmless, but with various heroes of the Green Forest moving around lately, who knew if this person possessed high-level martial arts skills?
People tend to seek benefits and avoid harm, and these henchmen were no different.
"Who I am doesn’t matter, you shouldn’t be hitting children," snorted Wufu.
"We bought these kids; even if they’re beaten to death, it’s nobody else’s concern," the Big Man yelled from beneath Wufu’s foot.
Dammit, how could that wisp of a girl cause such pain merely by stepping on his chest?
Wufu ground her foot in harder before finally stepping off, toyed with her whip, and said, "If he’s killed, wouldn’t that be a waste of money? How foolish are you?"
With his freedom regained, the Big Man was helped up by his henchmen, rubbing his chest and glowering dangerously, "Mind your own business, girl." Then, seeing the boy, he instructed his men, "Drag him back."
One of them tentatively approached, warily eyeing Wufu. Seeing she made no move, he immediately grabbed the boy’s hand.
Unexpectedly, the child bit hard into his hand.
"Aoww, you little cur, dare bite me?" the henchman howled, about to strike regardless of the consequences.
"Don’t move," Wufu snapped her whip again to the ground.
Like a dog, the kid released his bite and knee-crawled to Wufu’s feet, looking up at her: "Do you have any Silver, to buy me?"
Wufu blinked, surprised by the situation.
The child’s dark, hopeful eyes conveyed a desperate desire to survive.
"Buy me," the child pleaded, grasping at her skirt, "I’m strong, I can do anything."
Wufu remained silent; the grocery store owner also whispered, "Miss, don’t get involved."
"What are you waiting for? Drag him away," the Big Man snapped back to reality and hastily commanded his henchmen, "the darn kid, once trained, will be liked by those adults."
The two henchmen, one on each side, dragged the struggling, resistant boy by his hands.
Looking into the boy’s defiant eyes, Wufu asked, "How much for him?"
