Don’t Mess with that Turtle -
Chapter 468 - 468 99 Home Turmoil_2
468: Chapter 99 Home Turmoil_2 468: Chapter 99 Home Turmoil_2 The training of Dragon Turtles simply involved inheriting their legacy and then boldly advancing on their own.
After many battles, they naturally mastered everything they needed to know.
After all, as long-lived species, they had a very high margin for error.
Su He popped out and found himself outside of Changfeng City.
He had seen it numerous times within the bronze mirror, but this was his first actual visit.
The city he had seen in the mirror was vastly different now.
A war had ravaged most of Changfeng City’s appearance; inside the city wasn’t too bad, but as far as the eye could see outside the city, there was nothing but desert, with occasional fires and floods.
Who was sick of living and causing trouble in Changfeng City?
Su He frowned, only to hear a joyful cry, “Daddy!”
A Little Thunder Turtle threw itself at him, clacking its sharp little teeth onto the dragon scales below Su He’s neck, dangling and swinging from his neck.
Looking up at Su He with big, red, watery eyes, she seemed to be bursting with grievances amidst the crackling thunder surrounding her.
Daddy is here!
Daddy is here!
Su He lifted her up in a stream of water, placing her in front of him, his dragon head pressing against her little dragon head, “Is Ya Ya crying?”
Her eyes had just shed tears; Su He could smell the scent of them.
In that instant, he didn’t know what could have scared the little one so badly.
The Little Dragon Turtle nodded her head and looked up at him, “Daddy, where’s Mommy?”
Daddy had returned, but Mommy hadn’t!
“She’s in closed-door cultivation,” Su He said with a smile, nudging her, “When she comes out, let’s gang up on her together!”
Just popping up without a word, she deserved to be strung up and punished.
“Hmm!” Ya Ya nodded her little head stubbornly.
“When she’s out, we don’t want her anymore!
Kick her out; having a big mom is enough for Daddy!”
Su He was covered in cold sweat.
Where had the little girl picked up such a phrase?
The water beneath him churned and formed into a fist, aimed angrily at her head.
Before the fist could hit her, he felt a murderous intent from behind and turned to see the vengeful gaze of Green Thunder.
Su He: “…”
That’s how children get spoiled!
Ya Ya returned to human form, sticking her tongue out and hiding behind Su He, peeking at Green Thunder.
Green Thunder looked heartbroken; indeed, no matter how hard he tried, he could never replace her real father!
Having spent a year or two with her outside the city, as soon as Su He arrived, the little one dashed towards him, clearly showing more affection for her real daddy, huh!
Green Thunder stretched out a paw and lightly poked Ya Ya on the head.
Though the toe was as heavy as a mountain, it touched her gently, feeling heavy yet comfortable on the top of her head, “Now that your daddy’s back, grandpa should go!”
He had already decided to check on Gu Luo once the battle at Changfeng City was settled.
The fellow hadn’t even broken out of his shell, and he hadn’t transmitted a trace of consciousness.
It was time to take a look.
If he was dead, it would be a good occasion to hold a funeral like the mortals and collect some condolence money.
These past two years, he had learned quite a bit of mortal knowledge in Changfeng City – things he had never come into contact with before.
One of Ya Ya’s hands clung to Su He’s scales while the other waved at Green Thunder, “Turtle Grandpa, remember to show up next time you visit.
Don’t turn into a big mountain and hide again.
Come out and play with Ya Ya, okay!”
Green Thunder laughed heartily and tore through space to leave.
Every youngster has their own psychology; when their true father isn’t around, he becomes the closest person, relied upon to alleviate their worries.
But once the true father arrives, anyone else becomes a nuisance.
They would only irritate others.
Indeed, this was the wisdom he had concluded from more than a thousand observations of child-rearing scenarios, in order to be a good grandfather.
As soon as Green Thunder took his leave, Ya Ya as if let loose, swung up onto Su He’s back and slid down the turtle shell onto his neck, hugging his neck and swaying excitedly, “Daddy, daddy, I want a hammer!”
The Heavenly Star Hammer she held was exactly the magical treasure used by the attacker from the Demonic Realm.
Although Su He wasn’t proficient in artifact refining, he had, after all, managed to follow instructions and refine the Opening Heaven Pen once, so he had an eye for it.
This hammer was simply ritualized with ordinary materials – the kind that was categorized by grades such as Third Grade.
It had been a long time since Su He had dealt with such materials.
As a Dragon Turtle, he had access to real Heavenly Material Earthly Treasures.
He didn’t expect someone would use such material to craft a magical treasure capable of reaching the Demonic Realm’s power.
Could this actually work?
“Wait for Daddy to go back, and I’ll ask your big mom to refine a new hammer that’s right for you!” Ji Feixue’s real expertise lay in artifact refining and alchemy.
Not just for Little Ya Ya, he thought to ask his wife to help him ritualize some treasures as well.
The Dragon Turtle True Form wouldn’t need them, but for the Peacock True Body, with a weaker flesh body, a set of armor or knuckle dusters to make up for the lack of defense and attack wouldn’t hurt.
This was the first time Little Ya Ya had ever asked him for something, and he felt a bit proud!
Suddenly, he understood the joy of Green Thunder and the others – to have a younger generation constantly calling for help is its own kind of wondrous pleasure!
“Let’s go!
Daddy will take you to have fun!” Su He stood tall, ready to carry Ya Ya away.
But the little one struggled free, insisting, “No, no!
I just defeated a group of enemies and I’m about to take their city!
If we’re late, someone else will claim it!”
As if remembering something important, she leaped down from Su He’s back and gestured towards the city, “Toad!
Follow me into battle, let’s conquer Tan City!”
Atop the city wall, the toad laughed heartily, banging his tobacco pipe against the wall, “Minions, gather in formation!”
Ya Ya looked around in confusion, “Where’s my tusked friend?”
From the crowd, a wild boar charged out, huffing and puffing as it ran up to Ya Ya.
The pig was even bigger than when they were in the White Spirit Small World!
Ya Ya seated atop it had quite the spectacle of a little person riding a big horse, her feet nowhere near the stirrups.
He should get his daughter a mount truly suitable for her.
Something that could fly in the sky, run on land, or swim in the water – she had to have one of each!
Perhaps seeing Su He made Ya Ya feel spirited again; she excitedly beat the drum herself, rallying the troops.
She led dozens of Thunder Monkeys and over a thousand warriors in a magnificent formation, marching southward toward battle.
