But the toad was too small to reach it, squatting there not even as large as a watermelon.

With Su He’s dragon head laid flat, the toad couldn’t even reach the tip of its nose.

It was just about to leap up to touch when it saw the Dragon Turtle slowly open its eyes, a pair of dragon pupils shining with a golden light fixed on it.

Following the gaze, all of the Dragon Turtle Majesty pressed down upon it.

Instantly, the toad was frozen, trembling all over, and finally lowered its body and flashed a hundred yards away, clutching its chest and gasping for breath, with two rows of bubbles gurgling out of its mouth.

Soul Beasts are not good at fighting, and each new ability they gain with every grade has nothing to do with combat, all being supportive in nature.

Communication, storage, delivery…

even the Profound Realm opened up at the ninth grade has nothing to do with combat.

The toad did not tame the sea dog through force; the sea dog was raised by the toad from a tiny pup to the big silly dog it was now.

It couldn’t even connect with the giant turtles it had nurtured itself.

The toad wasn’t afraid of combat; Soul Beasts being somewhat illusory, were essentially unkillable, at worst susceptible to sealing — for it, this little world was no different from being sealed.

But it was terrified by the Dragon Turtle Majesty bearing down on it.

Majesty, an intangible and indefinable force, was the hardest to resist.

“Hey, hey!” the toad looked at Su He, “This is outright revenge!”

Su He shook his head, coming back to his senses.

He seemed to have heard Feng Yaya’s voice in his sleep and reluctantly opened his eyes only to be face to face with an ugly green-skinned toad.

That gave him quite the scare.

Seeing Su He regaining his composure and no longer emanating a menacing aura, the toad cautiously reappeared before him.

“Where’s the giant turtle?” the toad asked doubtfully.

There was no trace of the giant turtle’s presence around, as if it had never followed them at all.

“It killed itself,” replied Su He.

Indeed, it had committed suicide; in a true fight, even three Su He’s wouldn’t be a match for her.

The toad was stunned, crazy?

Thinking about it, it seemed quite possible.

That turtle had been unstable since it hatched, biting whoever it saw, eating anything, with not a hint of Spirit Wisdom.

The possibility of it committing suicide seemed reasonable.

What concerned the toad more was another matter, it blinked its large eyes at Su He, “Have you advanced again?”

Su He nodded.

His own status was off, his sensitivity to energies dulled, but the Bright Mirror displayed everything clearly:

Status: Weak

True Blood: 98%

Offering Bones: 50%

Internal Organs: 52%

All three metrics were over fifty percent, with True Blood nearing completion.

The toad was overjoyed, dancing with delight.

The faster the Dragon Turtle evolved, the sooner it could leave, which was the best news it had heard in a long time.

It made the toad happier than becoming a Siwei.

Seeing how pleased the toad was, Su He felt it was celebrating prematurely and told it the news that the giant turtle had stated — that the toad had imprisoned itself for two thousand years.

Then the toad completely lost its composure, standing frozen there for a long while without moving.

Not even Su He’s Divine God Might could rouse it.

Feng Yaya plopped down from the surface of the sea, her hands drifting above her head in the water, eyes tightly closed.

She touched down and stretched her little feet, exploring around before daring to open her eyes upon confirming she was on the seafloor.

She tilted her head, looking at the petrified toad, and poked its soft belly, but the toad didn’t react at all.

Feng Yaya’s eyes sparkled, and she gently hooked onto the toad’s belly, opening it up like a kangaroo pouch, peering inside with curiosity.

She had always envied the toad’s ability to pull treasures out of its bag, aspiring to the Soul Beasts’ power.

A breeding pouch?

Su He was taken aback; he hadn’t interacted much with the toad and didn’t know it had this feature.

This pouch emitted the fluctuation of spatial energies.

As dragon horns had emerged, Su He’s Divine Sense had become more sensitive, and the moment the pouch opened, he sensed the fluctuation of space — he might not understand other energies, but with an External Space within him, Su He was highly sensitive to spatial energies.

His Divine Sense swept over it.

Inside the pouch: a large knife, a broken sword, a damaged copper bell…

a breast cover, lingerie, rouge and powder…

A sailor pulled Feng Yaya back and closed the toad’s pouch.

“From now on, stay away from the toad— as far away as possible!” Su He warned seriously.

Feng Yaya, puzzled, was flung onto the Turtle Shell and instinctively reached for the two newly emerged dragon horns.

Su He’s entire body shuddered as if he had been poked in the back all of a sudden, the whole turtle quivering.

These horns were very sensitive!

A pair of Dragon Horns rooted in the Intention Orifice were related to Divine Sense and Intention, and were too sensitive to touch at this early stage.

“Huh?” Feng Yaya seemed to have discovered a new world.

Laughing, she poked the dragon horns and Su He repressed a Dragon’s Chant.

The toad slowly came to and looked at Su He wistfully.

Why did he have to tell her such cruel news?

Who knows how long it would take for the Dragon Turtle’s charm to dissipate in this small world.

Left or right, he was supposed to evolve first.

Couldn’t he just keep this to himself and spare a fragile heart that was thousands of years old?

It sighed deeply, “Follow me.”

Leading the way, the toad swam.

Through countless miles, Su He, carrying Feng Yaya, followed the toad until they landed on a vast island.

If his sight hadn’t confirmed it was bordered, he might have mistaken it for a whole continent.

The island had mountains, jungles, and plains—it had it all.

The toad led them around half of the island to a coastal spot beneath the cliffs.

Along the shore were giant stone eggs, as large as water jars.

Su He narrowed his eyes; it was not uncommon for seaside rocks, worn by sea water over time, to form stone eggs.

But these stone eggs gave Su He a bad feeling, as though each one were a dead embryo!

He could still detect a very weak essence of the Dragon Turtle coming from them.

It was the kind of feeling associated with death, stasis, and coldness.
