Don’t Mess with that Turtle
Chapter 118 - 118 117 Entry_1

118: Chapter 117 Entry_1 118: Chapter 117 Entry_1 Su He lay in the water, letting the sunlight sprinkle on the Turtle Shell.

Standing on a rock in the middle of the lake, Su Huanian gazed into the distance.

“What are you doing?” Su He looked at Su Huanian and asked.

“Waiting for someone.

What about you?”

“Watching you.”

Su Huanian chuckled lightly, this creature was but a turtle with a simple mind.

If it had been a person, she would have slain them with a single strike of her sword.

“Who are you waiting for?” asked Su He, feeling a slight sourness in his heart.

Brushing a lock of hair beside her ear, Su Huanian’s voice came a few degrees colder, “Fiancé.”

Su He’s Turtle eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at her, “You, you have a boyfriend?”

This was very bad news; men, no matter what they turned into, always harbored the hope that every beautiful woman they encountered was single.

Even if the woman just brushed past them, even if she never said a word to them.

Boyfriend?

The word was indeed rather unique.

For the likes of beasts, it is all about hitting the essence directly.

Su Huanian smiled softly, “I have never met him.

It’s a match arranged by my father.

I heard he is passing by this place soon on his way to the examinations, so I came to have a look.”

A Fairy’s fiancé was just an ordinary Scholar?

Su He blinked a few times, feeling a bit more at ease, “Then you’re not looking at your fiancé; you’re looking at your future—why not look at me too?

Maybe I am your future.”

“You are a Turtle!” said Su Huanian softly, her tone gentle yet decisive.

Su He lifted his head, water cascading off his neck, reflecting a rainbow of colors in the setting sun.

He gazed at Su Huanian, speaking earnestly, “If you are willing to teach me how to cultivate, one day I could transform into a human.”

Looking at him, Su Huanian’s eyes showed a trace of surprise, “You…

want to take me as your master?”

“After becoming a disciple, can I marry you?”

“No—you can’t marry me whether you become a disciple or not!”

Su He fell silent, his head slowly retracting into the Turtle Shell, buried beneath the water’s surface.

Feeling somewhat gloomy, an all too familiar sensation arose; it seemed like a long time since he had hidden his head in his Turtle Shell like this.

Above the battle realm, Qinghe Taoist coughed to ease the awkwardness and whispered telepathically, “Entering the Illusion Realm doesn’t mean abandoning logic.

Why would your Turtle Kid think that just cultivating would allow him to transform into a human?”

Without the Demonic Fruit, without the Mind Orifice human form, cultivation alone would at most make one a powerful Exotic Beast, incapable of unlocking Spirit Wisdom.

Elder Ge fell silent for a moment before replying telepathically, “Do you remember the rumor that spread after the last opening of the Mystery Yellow Cave Heaven?”

Qinghe Taoist thought for a moment, “The rumor that all beasts in the ancient times could harvest the spirit essence of heaven and earth to cultivate into Demons?”

“Didn’t the Ten Major Immortal Doors debunk that rumor?”

Elder Ge’s beard twitched, weren’t the Ten Major Immortal Doors’ debunkings meant to be taken in reverse?

Both fell silent for a moment, then looked back to the Illusion Realm.

Many of the subconscious elements in the Dragon Turtle Illusion Realm might stem from the Dragon Turtle’s inheritance, ancient secrets unknown to them.

If they didn’t touch on classified matters, they too were eager to learn more.

It was certainly not out of gossip!

“What are you doing?” Night had fallen within the Illusion Realm, and it was a moonless night studded with stars.

Su Huanian had left the rock in the middle of the lake.

A thatched cottage now stood by the lakeside.

Su He had no idea where the cottage came from; he had been lost in thought that afternoon, and when he came to his senses, the cottage was already there.

Su Huanian’s Immortal Sword was digging circles in the ground, though Su He couldn’t tell what she was doing.

“Digging a well,” Su Huanian replied softly.

Su He was puzzled, “Why dig a well?

Isn’t there lake water here?”

Looking at him, Su Huanian said, “That’s your bathwater.

How could it be fit for drinking?”

Su He was astonished.

He had never considered this issue; since he had transmigrated into a turtle, he could no longer remember how much time had passed.

His days were spent hunting for food, sleeping, and excreting—all within this lake—he had never realized anything was amiss.

Wasn’t this the natural order of things?

Besides, as a fairy shouldn’t you simply pinch your fingers and purify the water instantly?

Why bother with digging a well?

“What’s in here?” Su He looked towards the stove in front of the hut, from which wafts of fragrance were emanating from the iron pot.

“Black-boned chicken and tortoise soup.” There was a hint of playfulness in Su Huanian’s voice that was hard to detect.

Su He’s face was filled with horror.

He stepped back cautiously on his hind legs, swallowed hard, and asked Su Huanian warily, “How about we eat fish instead?

I’ve got great skills at catching fish.”

A trace of cunning flashed in Su Huanian’s eyes, and he seemed very amicable, “That’s fine.”

Su He turned around and dived into the lake.

In no time, he was dragging back a large carp, carefully biting only the tail to avoid damaging the flesh.

“Hmph!” Su He placed the fish under the eaves, and the carp flapped around vigorously, utterly full of life.

Su Huanian shook his head, “You eat.

I don’t eat meat.”

“Eh?” Su He looked at the now clean iron pot, only to find that in just a short moment the black-boned chicken and tortoise soup was gone!

In a gentle voice, Su Huanian said, “I prepared that for you.

Those were all top-grade spiritual objects, to nourish yin and replenish qi to aid you in pursuing the Tao.

Since you don’t like it, I poured it away.”

Su He: “???”

“!!!”

He looked at Su Huanian in disbelief.

Su Huanian, however, had already closed his eyes and was sitting cross-legged in front of the hut, slowly engaging in breathing exercises, with his chest rising and falling slightly.

Days passed by one after another.

Su Huanian settled down by the lake, observing the lake, listening to the rain, and cultivating; occasionally responding to Su He or keeping him far away to bathe in the lake.

Life was as peaceful as that, and Su He was fully content.

Inside the battlefield, Elder Ge and True Person Qinghe looked at each other, confused.

This turtle’s vulnerability wasn’t “lust”!

The illusion realm came into being because of him.

As long as he was in the illusion realm, it existed.

If the turtle were lecherous, he would surely peep at Su Huanian bathing—at least the scene of Su Huanian bathing would appear.

But the Turtle Kid actually stayed far away, and the distant illusion realm disappeared, only to reemerge once the Dragon Turtle returned, after Su Huanian had finished bathing.

He wasn’t lecherous; did he simply want to accompany Su Huanian in the illusion realm, to have a romantic affair?

Elder Ge’s head ached.

If the turtle were lecherous, things might have been simple.

A lecherous being wouldn’t be particular about their objects of desire.

It seemed that the first thing he saw was Su Huanian, hence the illusion also portrayed her.

If so, creating one or two gorgeous women or handsome turtle species and conditioning him a few times might suffice.

But this turtle acted like he wanted to stay with her forever and ever, which left others unsure of what to do.

Elder Ge opened and closed his front paws impatiently, a rumbling sound coming from his throat.

In the center of his forehead, the seven tokens of the Profound Moon shone brightly.

The others kept silent, seeming to guess that Brother Ge’s Dragon Turtle disciple was suffering from an unstable Tao heart and had a weakness, and Brother Ge did not know what to do about it.

Such psychological issues were beyond resolution, even for those with high levels of Tao cultivation.

“Brother Ge, should we enter the illusion realm and help this Dragon Turtle break free from his thoughts?” The voice transmission of Qinghe Taoist rang in his mind.

Elder Ge looked over.

“How can we help him break free?”

“You act as his master, while I will mimic Su Fairy’s father, entering the illusion realm to guide the Dragon Turtle towards the Tao.

In the illusion realm, doesn’t Su Fairy have a fiancé?

We could make his marriage blissful and happy for life.”

Qinghe Taoist stroked his chin, thinking it odd for people to walk with a turtle.

The species were different, and if one were to fall into such a relationship, it might only bring self-inflicted hardship.

Especially for Su Fairy of Qingyuan Gate, setting aside the existence of Feng Yi Ju, just her cool temperament alone was not something ordinary people could approach.

This Dragon Turtle’s thinking was askew; it ought to be set right.
