Chapter 46: Heir.

As their cars finally rolled back into the family estate, a plan was already in Joseph’s mind, so when they finally got out of the car, Pablo went forward and asked him to follow him. They went into the house, up to the second floor, and there it was, something that Joseph kind of thought about, that Pablo would spend money on.

It was a spacious office, everything made with fine wood and packed with luxurious furniture, and the office chair that was behind the desk was more like a throne.

"Operation room." Pablo said as he sat down. "So, we’re going to rob them?" He asked as Joseph still eyed this whole thing and just got more frustrated that Pablo really spent money on the most useless things... though he sat down, looking like a king on his throne.

"Yeah, not just steal but at the same time send a message too." He leaned back, and it was surely luxurious, the leather cushioning just felt like he was sitting on clouds. "It is obvious we can’t steal the whole warehouse, we don’t have the capacity for that or trucks, so we send out the guys, they steal and pack as many as they can into the SUVs, and when they are done, they burn down the whole thing."

"I like it, but burning it down wouldn’t just send a message but a war message." Pablo said as his leg started to shake a little. "I don’t think we are, how should I say it... strong enough to react to any attack or stand up against it. We have no influence nor enough people... only the Cassian name."

"Yeah we have nothing but a legacy... that’s exactly why we are ahead of everyone. And not just that, the DSA is obviously hiding our tracks, which is another advantage." Joseph said as he looked around.

"I thought about the same but I can really see how we can use it." Pablo said as he tried to puzzle it together. "Like it is obvious they are doing it to not cause panic, but I am sure that they are planning an operation not just against us but the whole criminal underworld. That’s where their silence comes from."

"Exactly, but what did we give them?"

Pablo got confused by the question because to be truthful, he was only out for two days and they did nothing big so far, no connection, no nothing.

"Maybe evidence? That agent Olivia, she saw you, us, she can give information about what happened and how exactly happened, also the park ranger, then of course what we have just done."

Joseph shook his head as he picked up a pen and a paper which was on the side. "Think like how you thought in the DAG and not as a criminal or mafia, Pablo." He said as he wrote Cassian in the center and circled it. "What do you see?"

He leaned forward looking at it, a piece of paper, a name on it circled... in the center... yeah the center.

"We are the center of all things, that’s what you’re saying, right?" He said as he looked up and Joseph smiled. "So we are the center of all things but how come?"

"I think our biggest advantage is that everybody is associating us with the legacy, my dad and what he has achieved... in their mind it’s the biggest threat, they think of me as an heir, the one who’s just as mad as he was." He exhaled as he drew a line going to the left. "We have nothing, not enough men, no drugs, no connection that we know of, only the accounts and the banks, but other than that we are powerless, and the only thing that they are afraid of is the perception of what I can do." He started again making circles all around their names. "We killed Vincente, and a three-head dragon who was Trevor, Ivanka and Albert." He connected the two with a line. "They had everything we don’t have, people, hierarchy, a system, and of course all the equipment, connection, but what is going to happen?" He looked up at Pablo. "Internal affairs... almost every single time that’s going to happen if the boss is killed, they scramble, they kill each other, they make power moves, but this is on a level that is just unbelievable, thousands of people, tons of drugs and opportunity to get it all."

Pablo thought about it, though what Joseph was drawing was a mess, he understood his words.

"But the problem is, we can’t act on it..." As he said it he realized it. "...and we didn’t even need to act, right?"

"Exactly, why would we act when they are killing each other, literally they will just bring all the attention to themselves, we created a chaos and this chaos will get all the attention, from the public, from the agency, the government, and we can just do our business however we want, but the best about it’s that—"

"...sombody will reach out..." Pablo whispered.

"Yeah somebody will, and the greatest thing about it, it can be an agency." He wrote up the DSA. "Or someone influential, let it be a mafia, a connection, people with the right info, with the right things that can work to our advantage."

They both stayed silent for a moment, thinking it through.

"There are many gaps in this where things can go wrong." Pablo spoke as he too grabbed a pen. "Gabbana and Jelena... their families intact and they can attack anytime, not even speaking about Vincente’s family. What if there will be no internal affairs but unity?" He looked up. "In that way, everybody gets a piece of what remained."

Pablo was right about it, if things don’t work out the way they want, then they will be in the deepest shithole.

"There is always somebody who wants more, Pablo." Joseph said. "But let’s say no internal affairs, that’s exactly why your plan to rob them is going to work." He grabbed the pen again. "If Vincente kept the family hierarchy intact like how it was, then there are four underbosses and a board with ten people. If we rob them and burn down let’s say two warehouses, do you think there will not even be a bit of shake-up there?" He smiled again. "Some of them will want to retaliate, some of them will not, it will just shake them more... shake their trust for each other, and some of them will be too ambitious to just sit around."

Pablo was now mind blown by the fact that Joseph was like this... it was just surprising, that he talked and thought this way... a man who was never even in his family business but knew all the tricks, like if he was born with it... it is just pure talent.

"They are already shaking..." Pablo now was thinking like Joseph. "Like they let Vincente die, Gabbana and Jelena were there and they did nothing... that’s also a good motive for them too, separate them from their alliance, and if that happens..."

"Total chaos, the shared routes, smugglers, the shared warehouses and connections... and it’s currently happening right now that we speak... I am sure they are still at the hospital but Vincente’s family is already planning this, to separate from them, and we are going to sprinkle more chaos with burning some warehouses down.

"But would it be too obvious that it was us? In my opinion all fingers will point at us." Pablo brought up a good point, but Joseph already thought about that.

"This." Joseph said as he tapped his finger on the DSA. "It is risky, too risky, but even though I know nothing about the government nor many things, I’m sure that this DSA is corrupt and also operates as a shadow agency doing the dirty work... what if we make a deal with them... we point out the warehouses for them? Even if we don’t get drugs, we make a connection with them and they can put more pressure on the mafia, not just them but the whole underworld. This way we don’t need to risk our men’s lives to do the robbing."

Pablo took a big ass breath as he leaned back and his mind was not blown but almost non existent in that moment. Like he is out for two days and already wants to make connections with the DSA after they just massacred two officers.

It is the most ridiculous plan and at the same time a plan that can work, and if it works, then shit, they will be up there, but if not, then the Cassian family’s life will be the shortest one in world history.

A plan that just shows how Joseph is thinking about things what he wants is more than just greatness... he wants everything, he wants to shake up the whole damn underworld.

He wants to be the villain of the underworld... and shit it was just too exciting.
