Chapter 1519: Chapter 1522: Vivian Walters’ Identity Exposed (2)
The guests below were all waiting for Mason Scott to make a donation.
But Mason stood still, not moving an inch, only his legs were trembling nonstop.
"What’s going on? Why isn’t Mason moving?" a reporter asked.
No sooner had his voice faded when suddenly, Mason, who had been standing just fine on stage, began to tremble in the legs.
Then, in front of so many people and the camera lens, he just sat down on the ground with a thud.
"What happened to him?!"
"Being so scared, could it be that he’s feeling guilty?"
"Guilty of what? Mr. Lucas hasn’t said anything, nor has he brought out any evidence. What’s there to be scared of? It’s nonsensical, Mason is simply a coward."
The guests below were discussing fervently, while Mason on stage was so terrified that he couldn’t even stand up.
It wasn’t that scary from a distance, but as he got closer and saw the ’ferocious’ look in the stray dogs’ eyes, his legs just stopped responding, going numb.
Mason sat on the ground, his hands and feet trembling uncontrollably, while cold sweat poured out from his forehead in large drops.
He wished he could kill himself right now, why did he have to recklessly bid on that item!
"Mr. Scott seems to be feeling a bit unwell, let’s do this—please have Miss Gray come up first," the auctioneer, not being an unyielding person, suggested that the Event Hostess invite ’Lily Gray’ seeing Mason felt unwell.
"Please have Miss Gray represent tonight’s charitable guests and the Royal Palace Auction House, to deliver our heartfelt blessings to the representative of the homeless rescue center."
The host finished speaking, and the guests below all waited for ’Lily Gray’ to come forward.
But the state of ’Lily Gray’ was even more absurd than Mason’s.
At least Mason took a few steps forward before sitting on the ground.
Whereas ’Lily Gray’ had not moved a step and when the Event Hostess went to invite her, she just sat on the ground stubbornly refusing to get up.
The lively music from before had long been silenced.
Everyone in the venue could hear ’Lily Gray’s hysterical cries.
"No, I won’t go... I won’t go... don’t make me go, don’t make me go..."
Vivian Walters’ eyes had already become bewildered, unable to focus.
Those crazed and painful memories rushed into her mind like a tide.
The gazes of the four homeless men nearby were just like those of the beggars who once raped her—sordid, disgusting, harboring ill intentions.
The feeling of being pressed under by those dirty, despicable, disheveled people was a scar that Vivian wanted to forget for a lifetime, yet could never erase from her memory.
"Miss Gray, you just need to hand over these donation certificates to them, it’s a simple matter," the auctioneer said kindly, seemingly oblivious to Vivian’s panic.
"Lot No. 13 was bid on by Miss Lily, so you must go up..."
Before he finished speaking, the entire audience heard Vivian yell out in denial.
"No, I won’t go! I’m not Lily Gray, I’m not... let go of me, I want to leave here, let me go!"
Vivian scrambled backwards in absolute terror, having already forgotten her purpose for coming here.
She hadn’t even realized that she had just admitted herself that she was not Lily Gray.
The auctioneer pretended not to understand, grabbing Vivian’s wrist and not letting her go. "Miss Gray, don’t joke around, if you’re not Miss Gray, then who is? Don’t worry, it’s just a simple matter, handing the certificate to them is all. If Miss Gray feels unsteady, don’t worry, our Event Hostesses will support you."
Two Event Hostesses immediately approached, assisting Vivian from either side.
Despite their slender figures, the two hostesses’ strength was something Vivian couldn’t escape from.
The two lifted Vivian up and headed straight towards the four homeless men.
