Chapter 1512: Chapter 1515: The Test Arranged by the Mother-in-law (1)

Lily was eagerly waiting to see the brilliant spectacle Aidan Lucas had arranged.

After waiting for ages, the auction was still proceeding in an orderly fashion without the slightest sign of ending.

"Next is Lot No. 17, an antique porcelain vase with pink-overglaze and longevity pattern, starting at twelve million."

Once again, the auctioneer’s voice resounded from the stage.

Lily was feeling restless and was about to inquire how much longer until it ended.

Then her cell phone vibrated in her purse.

"It’s my mother." Lily took out her cell phone, looking tense.

She whispered into Aidan Lucas’s ear, "It’s my mother calling, I’ll step out to take it. Wait for me to return before you start the drama you mentioned... you’d better not start without me."

She’d been longing for this moment for days, eager to see how Ethan Wilson would deal with the Scott family and Vivian Walters.

If Ethan Wilson dared to start while she was gone, she definitely wouldn’t let him off lightly.

"Alright, I’ll wait," the man said helplessly, shaking his head at the woman’s childish cuteness.

Lily, holding her cell phone, left through the VIP passage.

No sooner had Lily left than Aidan Lucas heard a soft whisper, quietly coming from the VIP seat on his right.

"Don’t bid, Sir, this porcelain vase is a fake."

"That’s impossible, the auction is hosted by the Royal Palace, there can’t be any fakes."

"Old Hag, you need to trust me; this pastel thin vase is indeed counterfeit. Please stop bidding."

"But, but..."

The bidding for Lot No. 17 had already reached twenty-one million.

The speaking Old Hag had placed a bid at eighteen million, but it had since been surpassed.

He seemed to want to continue bidding, but the girl beside him stopped him.

The girl’s voice was pure and graceful, and although she spoke with a delicate tone, she conveyed a sense of firmness.

Aidan Lucas naturally also overheard the conversation between the two people.

Had it been anyone else, they would have probably stepped in to explain by now.

But Aidan Lucas was not a man known for his warm-heartedness or approachability.

Whether others missed out on an opportunity or slandered his company, there were people to handle such matters.

Even if the discussion took place right beside him.

He seemed unaffected, with no inclination to interject in the slightest.

Monica, acting under Sylvia Scott’s orders, deliberately tried to get close to Aidan Lucas.

Seeing Sylvia Scott had intentionally sent Lily away, she approached Aidan Lucas in such an indirect manner.

Little did she know, Aidan Lucas showed no interest whatsoever in taking the bait.

Monica grew quietly frustrated and felt the need to up the ante.

"Old Hag, if you don’t believe me, let me show you a photo. I didn’t want to bring it out originally, but seeing you of advanced age, I can’t bear to watch you be deceived."

Having said that, Monica brought up a picture that had already been prepped on her cell phone.

"Here, look. Isn’t it exactly the same as the one on the stage?"

The Old Hag sitting next to Monica was a very prestigious and esteemed old collector in the industry.

He had believed in his own judgment as well as the credibility of the Royal Palace.

But when he saw the photo Monica showed him, he was instantly drawn to the pastel thin vase within it.

"How can they be exactly the same? Young lady, where did you take this picture of the pastel thin vase?"

"This is a collectible from my family, passed down for generations," Monica recited the prepared lines.

The Old Hag was a die-hard scholar who respected reason. Upon hearing Monica’s words, his brows furrowed deeply.

Suddenly, he grabbed Monica’s cell phone and stretched it out to the left, right in front of Aidan Lucas.

"Mr. Cooper, don’t you think you owe us an explanation? Why does the collectible from this young lady’s family look exactly like the one being auctioned on stage?!"
