Chapter 1437: Chapter 1440: The Maniac Who Dotes on His Sister is Secretly Scared (Extra 2)
Lily, as the victim, was also asked by the police officer to go to the police station to assist with the investigation.
But unlike Hannah Ford and Vivian Walters, who were locked in the interrogation room for intense questioning,
as soon as Lily’s personal lawyer, Blake Graham, arrived, he took care of everything for her without her having to appear.
And while Blake Graham went to negotiate, Lily sat in a corner of the police station, and David Redington, as if nobody else was around, spoon-fed her seafood porridge mouthful by mouthful.
"Brother, really, I don’t need any more, I’m full..." Lily refused David Redington’s feeding for the umpteenth time.
Nevertheless, David Redington still took the opportunity when she opened her mouth to push the small spoon forward.
Lily, left with no choice, had to swallow yet another mouthful of porridge that David Redington scooped up.
By this time, their three treasures had already been sent home by the bodyguard.
David Redington stayed with Lily at the police station.
He was concerned about Lily being a pregnant woman and couldn’t let her go hungry, so he immediately arranged for someone to bring over seafood porridge from Regal Mansion to tide her over.
"Brother, I’ve really had enough... Stop feeding me, so many people are watching," Lily whispered to David Redington.
She wasn’t incapable, yet David Redington kept saying she was tired, insisting on spoon-feeding her the porridge.
The handsome face of David Redington, who knows how many people recognized it.
From the moment he entered the police station and sat beside Lily, feeding her oblivious to others,
almost every few minutes, a female police officer would ’pass by’ them, seemingly casually.
"Let them look, I am your brother."
David Redington’s eyes, usually calm and untroubled, twinkled with a cautious and cherished light.
If he didn’t do something for Lily, to ensure she was right in front of him, unharmed and not missing, he feared he wouldn’t be able to control himself.
Just thinking about Lily facing Hannah Ford and Vivian Walters—those two vicious women—alone upstairs while three months pregnant made him unconsciously rise with an uncontrollable fear.
It was all his fault.
Why did he leave on his own just then?
"Brother, are you angry?" Lily sneaked a peek at David Redington, feeling that his deep blue eyes looked somewhat frightening.
"Angry?"
David Redington glanced up to see the inquiry, concern, and slight fear in Lily’s eyes.
"Fool," he said as he put down the nearly empty bowl of porridge.
His defined palm tousled Lily’s hair, "I would get angry at anyone but you."
He was just angry at himself, how could he possibly be angry at her?
"Really?" Lily cocked her head to look at him, somewhat in disbelief.
"Yes, really." David Redington curled his lips, revealing a faint smile.
He had to smile; his silly sister was worried.
"It’s good that you’re not angry," Lily clasped David Redington’s hand, removing his ’paw’ from her head to hold it in her hand.
"Brother, you haven’t eaten either, eat something first. I don’t like those snacks, so you have to finish them."
In addition to the seafood porridge, two boxes of snacks had been delivered.
David Redington smiled, "I’m not hungry yet."
Those snacks were clearly Lily’s favorites.
Just as Lily was about to persuade him further, Blake Graham suddenly emerged from inside.
He was still dressed in a white suit, but his complexion didn’t look too good, "Young master, young miss... it seems unlikely we will be able to pin the charge of child trafficking on them. They have also sent people over, from the Presidential Palace and Marshal Coldwell’s side."
"Charles Coldwell?" Lily abruptly stood up.
The Presidential Palace sending someone, she wasn’t surprised.
But Charles Coldwell, how could he possibly really send someone to bail out Hannah Coldwell?
"Don’t worry, I’ll call Cory," David Redington reassured his sister; he and Richard Coldwell had been best friends for years.
"No need." Lily pressed her brother’s hand, "I’ll call him. I want to ask Mr. Coldwell myself what exactly he means!"
