Chapter 1434: Chapter 1437: Reporting to the police officer, there are human traffickers here looking to sell children.

The entire incident unfolded in a flash of lightning.

Everyone was stunned by this horrifying scene, rendered speechless.

"What’s going on? Who called the police?!"

"Step aside, step aside! Police are here—make way, all of you!"

Just then, several stern shouts emanated from behind the crowd.

Several uniformed police officers who had received the report squeezed through the throng of people.

"Police officer... Police officer, save me! There’s been violence here, and my friends have been injured by her!"

Hannah Ford, sitting on the ground, saw the police as if they were her saviors.

She trembled and flung herself onto the police officer’s leg, clutching it tightly. The public servants she normally looked down upon had become her lifeline of protection.

The policemen, seeing the four bodyguards lying on the ground, and then the woman with a swollen and contorted face being pressed to the ground by two burly men, immediately sensed the gravity of the situation.

One officer quickly used his radio to call for backup from Headquarters.

A few others approached Lily, "Are you the one who started this?"

Lily was noncommittal, "Yes, I suspected these people were human traffickers trying to snatch my son. I was merely acting in self-defense."

Lily pulled out a tissue and calmly wiped her right hand before embracing her three treasures.

Even touching Vivian Walters’s face would feel dirty; she would suffer herself rather than let her babies be tainted in the slightest.

"Human traffickers?" The leading officer frowned at the four bodyguards lying on the ground, his expression visibly displeased.

He wasn’t blind.

Those four men in black suits were obviously bodyguards from a wealthy family.

And that girl sitting on the ground, shivering and unable to speak clearly, also clearly came from a wealthy family.

As for the woman being pressed down and kneeling on the ground.

The officer caught sight of her and almost vomited his last meal.

Geez, how disgusting can a woman be!

Her nose wasn’t like a nose, her chin not like a chin—it was as if she were a plastic doll, and an overinflated one at that.

Although the officers inwardly ridiculed Vivian Walters’s nauseating appearance, they were still the people’s police and had to respond in aid of the victim, no matter how revolted they felt.

"You two, let her go, and everybody else come with us to the police station."

The officer directed Lily’s two subordinates, but they didn’t move a muscle.

Seeing both looking at Lily, their stance implied they wouldn’t let go unless she ordered them to.

The officer turned back, "Aren’t you going to order them to let go?"

"We can’t release them," Lily said with narrowed eyes, being unusually candid. "Officer, they’re human traffickers. If we let them go, I’m afraid they might flee."

The officer speaking with Lily paused, evidently stunned into silence by her response.

The woman kneeling down was already so tormented she could barely manage to look human, let alone have the strength to flee.

And yet here she was, shamelessly and with a straight face, asserting such a claim.

"Ma’am."

The officer, seeing three adorable children hiding behind Lily, softened his tone a bit.

"Your actions are obstructing our law enforcement. Moreover, whether or not they are human traffickers isn’t for you to determine. We’ll discuss this further at the police station after taking your statements."

From the attire and bearing of Lily, Vivian, and Hannah, the officer deduced that all three likely came from wealthy families.

Because of this, they naturally assumed the incident was nothing more than an old game of wealthy ladies with too much time on their hands, engaging in petty squabbles.

Not one officer believed Lily’s account, nor did they seriously consider Vivian and her company to be the ’human traffickers’ Lily claimed them to be.

"Officer, I’m not lying to you—they are indeed human traffickers, and they must not be let go so easily. If you insist on making me release them, then handcuff them first."
