Chapter 1382: Chapter 1379: Aidan Lucas, Get Up... Get Up... (Extra 3)
"Your father is inside, the doctor has been here, and everything is physically normal, but they can’t find a reason for the coma."
Lily pushed open the bedroom door and walked in.
Behind her followed David Redington, holding Abbie.
This was the master bedroom she and Aidan Lucas had once shared, the place where the king-size bed a few meters wide had witnessed their loving embraces.
But now, the man lay on the bed with his eyes closed, never to speak to her again.
Aidan Lucas lay there, and even in his comatose and injured state, his handsomely peerless features were still dazzlingly attractive.
Only the bandages wrapped around his head made his whole person appear pale and frail.
"Mommy—" by Aidan Lucas’s side, sat the baby, Lulu.
The moment Lily came in, Lulu burst into a loud cry.
"Lulu..." Lily quickly approached and took Lulu into her arms.
Her eyes immediately reddened as they fell on the gauze-wrapped little leg.
"Baby, it’s Mommy’s fault, Mommy shouldn’t have left you aside. It’s Mommy who didn’t take good care of you all..." Lily hugged Lulu tightly, endlessly voicing her apologies.
It was her fault. No matter how many people were there to take care of the child, it couldn’t compare to her own meticulous care.
It was her fault that led to her baby getting hurt, and even Ethan Wilson was affected.
"Mommy, Lulu is okay..." Little Lulu, seeing Mommy’s eyes turning red, suddenly felt guilty.
Lulu, about to blurt out the truth, caught Abbie’s warning glance and quickly corrected herself, "Lulu’s injury is a minor one, but poor Daddy..."
"Mommy, will Daddy... will he never wake up? Daddy hasn’t spoken to Lulu at all until now... um... does Daddy... does Daddy not want Lulu anymore?"
Little Lulu struggled to recite the words Abbie had taught her.
They sounded awkward, but this made Lily think that Abbie was feeling self-blame and fear, which caused her to speak incoherently.
"How could that be, Daddy loves Lulu the most, Daddy would never abandon Lulu." Lily kissed Lulu, with tears welling up more evidently in her eyes.
Her daughter’s words tugged at her heartstrings; holding Lulu and looking at the man beside her, who was utterly unresponsive, she felt a tearing pain in her chest.
All thoughts of wanting Ethan Wilson to suffer, to admit his mistakes had vanished.
David Redington’s words that had been incessantly drummed into her these past few days were now cast out of Lily’s mind.
"Ethan..." Lily sat at the edge of the bed, reaching out to hold the man’s hand lying beside him.
His hand, with a cool touch, was just like his current state—seemingly about to leave at any moment.
Lily noticed the man’s breathing was smooth, and he appeared uninjured on the surface.
But the more normal he seemed, the more frightened Lily became.
Ordinary people wouldn’t be like this.
Now, she was beginning to suspect more and more that the first personality, the one that had finally returned, was slowly slipping away from her.
Was it because she hadn’t shown up as promised?
Was it because she had hung up on his calls so many times, and sent him that unequivocally decisive text message?
Lily panicked; she needed to keep him with her.
"Brother... could you please take Lulu and Abbie out for a while?"
She had so much to say to Ethan Wilson, she... she was afraid.
Afraid that if she didn’t speak now, the first personality would once again vanish from this world.
"Alright, don’t get too excited, you have to think about yourself and the baby in your stomach as well."
David Redington gave a lingering look at the sleeping Aidan Lucas, picked up the ’injured’ Lulu with one hand, and led Abbie out with the other hand.
Once the three of them left, Lily could no longer hold back and cried as she hugged the man who was completely unaware.
"Aidan Lucas, get up... get up..."
