Chapter 1368: Chapter 1365: What to Do, David Redington is Going to Make Things Difficult for Aidan Lucas

Lily knew that with David’s unconditional care for her, he wouldn’t be able to swallow his pride and let her be with Ethan Wilson without causing some trouble under the guise of a test.

Yet...

"But we need to agree, you can’t be too hard on him... you can’t go too far!" Even though she knew her brother had her best interests at heart, Lily still couldn’t help but feel pained.

That man, although he had hurt her, was still someone she had loved; she didn’t even understand why she had fallen so deeply, poisoned by the name "Ethan Wilson."

Even thinking about his eyes filled with thin anger made her feel frightened.

But Lily couldn’t help wanting to plead on his behalf.

"Heh," David laughed softly, rumpling his sister’s long hair, "You don’t have a marriage contract with him now, yet you’re already turning your elbow out. That will only make your brother angrier."

What he might do in his anger, not even he knew.

When Lily heard David’s words, she understood. This was the consequence of Ethan Wilson presenting that prenuptial agreement and rashly casting aside Lily Gray.

Ignorance might be excusable for outsiders, but now David, and even the Duke and Duchess of Redington, knew that her marriage to Ethan Wilson had evolved from a mere piece of paper.

They had no idea how much this revelation could diminish their perception of him.

As Lily was thinking, she heard David’s cool voice tinged with displeasure.

"When you were bullied by Austin Lucas and the Gray family, I still had a sliver of gratitude towards Ethan Wilson for offering you help when you were in the most difficult situation, and we hadn’t found you yet."

Lily tried to appease him, "Brother, Ethan Wilson indeed helped me a lot..."

David’s slender index finger tapped on Lily’s nose, "You’re lying. That so-called prenuptial agreement was clearly exploiting you. He’s bullying you, Lily."

"It’s not like that, brother. If not for Ethan Wilson, I wouldn’t have been able to get back Gray family. You know it’s important to me; it’s my adoptive parents’ lifeblood!"

"So what?" David’s expression remained cold, his deep blue eyes shimmering, "Even if it is your adoptive parents’ lifeblood, he shouldn’t treat you like a commodity. Lily, you can’t deny that Ethan Wilson’s initial approach to you was with ill-intentions."

This was what mattered most to David.

He couldn’t accept a man whose initial purpose in getting close to his sister was to exploit her.

The Redington family didn’t covet the Lucas family fortune; what David cared about wasn’t that the prenuptial agreement Ethan Wilson had Lily sign didn’t grant her any other properties.

What he cared about was Ethan Wilson’s attitude towards Lily.

David was a smart man, as were the Duke and Duchess of Redington; smart people often see things much more clearly than ordinary people.

The moment that agreement was brought out, it would allow them to see the nature of Lily and Ethan Wilson’s marriage for what it was.

A transaction and exploitation, nothing more.

That wasn’t love. His marriage to Lily wasn’t based on feelings but had an ulterior motive.

"Lily, if you want me to accept him, then don’t interfere with my test of him. Otherwise, even if it hurts you, I won’t let him see you again."

The prenuptial agreement with ulterior motives, Lily’s disappearance of four years without a word, and now seeing the marks left on his sister by that man when they met.

David’s perception of Ethan Wilson was getting worse.

Lily was almost desperate but was afraid that blindly defending Ethan Wilson would further infuriate David.

She clung to David’s arm, pleading obediently, "Alright, I won’t interfere or speak for him anymore... but brother, can you please give me back my cell phone?"

David’s eyes, vast like the starry sky, suddenly tightened.

He refused coldly: "No."

Lily was about to persuade him again when the excited voice of Roger Chamberlain suddenly came from inside the hospital room, "She’s awake... Miss Redington, Skye is awake!"
