Chapter 615: Chapter 597: Creating Opportunities

Cherish Turner understood what he was saying and said softly, "This money was his to begin with."

Robert Griffith snorted coldly and silently agreed.

"Alright, old man, let Miss Turner rest." The old lady quickly changed the subject and said, "Miss Turner, if you need anything, just let us know. Don’t be shy. Lunch is ready, I’ll come get you."

"Thank you, ma’am. You’re too kind."

"Old man, let’s go."

The old lady helped Robert Griffith leave. As they went downstairs, she sighed, "This is the first time William has been so persistent in his feelings for a girl. Although I was against it at first, now, old man, I think we should be happy."

"So what?"

"Ah, ah, ah."

This was Cherish Turner’s first time having a meal alone with the elders, so she couldn’t help but feel nervous. After eating, she returned to her room and let out a sigh of relief. The atmosphere there was too oppressive. Duoduo followed her everywhere as if it were her bodyguard. In the afternoon, fearing she would be bored, the old lady prepared some snacks and tea.

The room was warm, and the two chatted leisurely.

It was only then that Cherish realized the old lady wasn’t as strict as she had appeared. She was very gentle face-to-face, which reminded Cherish of her mother. Time passed unknowingly, and the two had spent the entire afternoon chatting.

"Come, let me show you something." The old lady suddenly thought of something and pulled Cherish up.

The two went to another room, someone’s study.

The walls were full of awards, all belonging to William Griffith.

"William has been very smart since he was little, but he never liked to talk much. Look at these awards, they’re all his. Actually, among the brothers, William is the most outstanding." The old lady said softly as she stood in front of an award.

Cherish’s gaze swept through the many intricate award certificates, impressed by how talented he was. She walked to the bookshelf and found that all the books were about finance.

"This is a picture of William as a child. Miss Turner, have you seen his childhood photos before?" The old lady picked up a picture frame on the desk and caught Cherish’s attention. "No."

Cherish walked to the old lady’s side and looked down at the picture, only to be stunned by what she saw.

The photo in the frame showed a young William Griffith. The little boy looked incredibly adorable. He was a handsome child, dressed like a little gentleman in a children’s suit and shirt. As a child, he stared coldly at the camera without smiling, as if foreshadowing how charming he would be when he grew up. In the photo, he was still holding a model train in his arms.

"This train..." Cherish asked in surprise, and the old lady sighed, "This was the last gift his grandmother gave him."

"Granny! I heard big brother’s girlfriend is staying at our house now?" A curious female voice rang out, and Hailey Griffith returned. As soon as she arrived home, the housekeeper told her that William had brought a woman home. She immediately guessed it was Cherish Turner. However, he has acted so quickly, actually bringing her back like this!

Hailey had forgotten most of her past memories and didn’t have much recollection of Cherish, only knowing that she was someone her big brother liked. After meeting a few times, they became familiar with each other, and nobody dared to mention Sam Turner anymore.

As the old lady handed the photo to Cherish, she whispered to Hailey, "That’s rude."

"We’re already so familiar with each other, do we still need to call her Miss Turner?" Hailey said loudly, not caring at all.

"Then you keep Miss Turner company. I’ll go check on your grandfather!" The old lady instructed, and Hailey agreed, walked into the study, and said, "How about it? Wasn’t he so good-looking as a child? Don’t you want to eat him up?"

Cherish’s face turned red as she held the picture frame and listened to Hailey’s words.

"Do you want me to get you a copy?"

Cherish raised her eyes to look at Hailey, full of expectation, and finally couldn’t help but nod.

Hailey approached her casually. At this time, May Campbell from downstairs called for her, and she hurriedly went downstairs, saying that Edward Smith had called.

At this moment, Yannis Griffith came in.

By now, he had completely accepted the relationship between Cherish and his big brother, especially since William was willing to take Cherish’s place in jail.

Yannis wore a triumphant smile and said in a deep voice, "Now that I’m running the Griffith company again, the coffee my secretary makes tastes strange, and she’s always slow in her work. I still think it would be nice if you were not my brother’s secretary but mine instead..."
