Chapter 613: Chapter 595: Eating Vinegar in Chaos_3

Cherish Turner stood up with a knowing smile, "I won’t keep you any longer then, goodbye."

Yannis Griffith quickly tried to usher the others out, urging, "Big brother, aren’t you leaving?"

Both men rose off their seats, and one by one, they exited the office.

Last seen standing outside the ladies’ restroom in the car park not far from Griffith, a certain man was baffled.

"I’m sorry, the number you have dialed is powered off..." William Griffith dialed the number again, his handsome face pulled tight. He turned towards the restroom behind him, helplessly said, "Wait here, I’ll go and get it for you!"

Cherish fought back tears, only able to respond with a gritted affirmation.

Oh god, why does her period have to start now?

William Griffith was suddenly reminded of the time he first bought her sanitary pads.

Back then, he had no idea where to buy them, and plus, he couldn’t exactly ask anyone about it. After all, it was a "physiological need". So he went to the pharmacy. He wandered aimlessly but couldn’t bring himself to ask.

Feeling sorry for him, a few employees finally asked, "Sir, what do you need? Is there something bothering you?"

He hesitated for a long time before stuttering, "I want to buy..."

The salesclerk, seeing his discomfort and his radiantly healthy appearance, guessed what he wanted to buy by his position at the counter. Holding back a snigger, the salesclerk said, "Sir, I think I know what you want. I’ll grab it for you."

He had no choice but to nod, relieved yet embarrassed.

After paying, he took the black bag from the clerk, not sparing it a glance, and darted out. Only once he was back in his car did he peek into the black bag, but what he saw made him furrow his brow.

Why were they condoms?

Feeling an unprecedented sense of failure, he had no choice but to re-enter the pharmacy.

Seeing him return, the clerk was also baffled, "Sir, did we give you the wrong brand?"

His handsome face strained, William Griffith shook his head. After much difficulty, he managed to say, "I want to know where can I buy sanitary pads."

The salesclerk eyed him suspiciously. "Sanitary pads? So, you’re buying them for your girlfriend? That’s thoughtful! For sanitary pads, you could go to a convenience store or a supermarket! We don’t sell it here at the pharmacy."

William Griffith would never forget how mortified he felt that day and the mocking laughter that followed him as he walked away.

But now, he was able to quickly locate a nearby convenience store and decisively pick up two packets of pads, instead of barging into a supermarket and demanding to buy the entire stock of sanitary pads as before. Despite still receiving some odd looks, he handled them with grace.

The automatic doors slid open, letting in the harsh outdoor light.

Suddenly, he felt a pang of envy and worry. Would that man do the same thing for her?

Liam Walker, a graduate of a prestigious medical college in Canada, holder of a sailing license, genuine and caring individual, no record of misconduct from primary school all the way to university, current practicing doctor at a hospital in the U.K. Marital status: married. Name of spouse noted in the file — Cherish Turner.

The information was half a year old. She had already been married for a year and a half at the time.

For those two years, she belonged to another man.

Returning to the car park with the sanitary pads, Cherish finally got to leave the restroom. She had never been so irritated with her unpredictable "old friend". Although it was terribly embarrassing, she had to thank him for going to buy them, so she quietly said, "Thank you for getting them for me."

William Griffith gave her a blank look and uttered, "Get in the car."

The car slowly left the parking lot. Out of the blue, William Griffith asked, "Are you living alone now?"

"Yes, Yannis has gone out."

Seemingly casual, William Griffith couldn’t help but tighten his grip on the steering wheel, "What about him? He just left you here in Haicheng?"

"Men need to prioritize their careers." Cherish replied softly. Her understanding nature left him feeling resentful.

"He really trusts you, doesn’t he?" scoffed William Griffith. He was irritated at himself as she once trusted him the same way. He frowned and added, "You’re not a commoner any more."

Cherish looked at him, and he continued, "You’re worth 1.5 billion now."

"You can’t live alone until everything is resolved." William murmured, making a self-decision, "For your own safety, you’ll be staying at my place for a while."

"What?" Cherish’s mouth flew open in surprise.

William Griffith glanced at her and said firmly, "You’re an investor, right? Staying at my place can be considered as entertaining you!"
