Chapter 608: Chapter 594: Twists and Turns
William Griffith slowly reached out his hand, touching her. His big hand, still as warm and dry as before, gently caressed her fair face, while his other hand grabbed her fingers, seeing that the plain ring was indeed still there, shimmering at this moment. He stared at the ring for a long time, then looked back at her.
"Go back, don’t care about me anymore, and don’t worry about me. All this has nothing to do with you." William caressed her face, his fingers tenderly wiping away the tears in her eyes. He had never done this before, nor had he ever told her that he had thought of a name for the unborn child who had miscarried.
But it was all too late now.
Cherish Turner raised her head, her eyes red like a little rabbit’s, their tear-filled gaze making William’s heart ache.
"William..." Cherish murmured, calling him like that for the first time since two years had passed.
"Well, I’ll be fine, go back." William coaxed and comforted her.
The door was opened again, and a policeman said officially, "Visiting time is up!"
"Go." William withdrew his hand, and saw her sitting stiffly and not moving, he urged her, "Be good."
The two words broke Cherish’s heart, she stood up in a daze, but didn’t even have the courage to look at him one more time, she turned around and ran out.
William lowered his head, looking at the gradually drying tears on the table, and closed his eyes.
If, if time could flow backward, what could he do? Those words he wanted to say but had never spoken.
If, if he hadn’t let go, many years later...
It turned out that thinking about the ifs was the deepest pain.
After visiting William Griffith, Cherish Turner, with a sad face, walked back to the hall. For a moment, she was without direction, like an emotionless shell, just walking quietly and obediently out of the hall and leaving. It was obviously 11 o’clock in the morning, but the weather was full of clouds, her slender figure disappearing into the gray world, slowly walking out of the police station and taking a car away.
After she left, Oscar Winston visited William again.
Oscar Winston laughed innocently, but was actually quite smug in his mind. It was so fun that even a man like William would have a weakness. Just now, he used the matter of the earrings as a threat, and he had obediently seen people.
And he seemed not to know...
"This is a police station, not your home." William found his laughter a bit irritating, but there was nothing he could do. It was clear that he meant "you can go now."
"I think you know that if the missing funds are fully recovered and made up to the exact amount, appeasing the Griffith shareholders and canceling the civil lawsuit, things will be much easier. But if Daniel Peacock really did play tricks behind the scenes and colluded with other shareholders, plus a tainted witness, it’s neither a big nor small problem." Oscar Winston put away his smile, and talked about serious matters in a casual tone, his black hair hanging down carelessly.
"This world is ugly." He did not speak for a long time, Oscar Winston teased, and his smiling handsome face showed a touch of coldness.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door and entered.
The person who came was Aaron Green, the team leader in charge of this case.
Aaron Green walked leisurely into the visiting room, his gaze sweeping over Oscar Winston and calmly looking at William. He spoke indifferently, in a low voice, "Mr. Griffith, someone has acted as your guarantor and paid your bail! According to the rules, we will confiscate your passport for the time being and keep it. Before the case is cleared, you cannot leave Seacity! We hope you will cooperate with the police!"
"We have contacted Mr. Griffith’s lawyer to handle the relevant procedures. Please wait a moment, Mr. Griffith!" Aaron Green finished speaking and left.
William glanced at Aaron Green and looked at Oscar Winston, but Oscar showed no sign of injury.
"Who is the guarantor?"
Aaron Green said indifferently, "I’m sorry, it’s confidential by request."

Griffith Villa
William Griffith had been in criminal detention for a whole Tanigawa, and during this Tanigawa, he had seen no one but his defense lawyer, Wilson Ferguson. No matter who from the Griffith Family requested a visit, they were all rejected. Even Robert Griffith hadn’t been able to visit William. Everything about him had been relayed one by one through Wilson Ferguson, and the Griffith Family could do nothing about it.
In the afternoon of the last day of Tanigawa, a group of people were discussing their strategy.
Robert Griffith asked, "Yannis, is Hailey all right?"
"Dad, don’t worry, Hailey has been busy finishing her manuscript lately, so she only stays in the design room and doesn’t go out much. Besides, Tanigawa Boku has been with her all the time. I have people protecting her, and whatever she needs, someone will take care of it for her. There won’t be any problems!" Yannis Griffith said seriously, with no one telling Hailey about William being detained, fearing that she would worry. The most important thing now was to solve the problems one by one.
