Chapter 582: Chapter 579: Save My Child_3
Elijah Butler gently embraced her, and whispered soothingly, "Cherish, the baby is fine, don’t worry, lie down for now!"
With the assurance that the baby was fine, Cherish Turner finally felt relieved. This child was her lifeline; she couldn’t afford to lose it.
"William Griffith has been waiting outside. Do you want to see him?"
Cherish shook her head. Right now, she didn’t want to see him.
She was so tired, too tired to keep revolving around him.
William waited anxiously outside and breathed a sigh of relief upon learning that the baby was okay. He didn’t dare to appear in front of her too easily, afraid of upsetting her further.
Elijah understood William’s emotions, but he couldn’t let him see Cherish.
As she left the room, Elijah said to William, "You should go. Give her some time. It’s better for both of you."
William was left with no choice but to leave.
After a while, Sam Turner hurriedly returned, but didn’t find his sister but Elijah.
"Where’s my sister?"
"She..." Elijah hesitated for a moment, then spoke frankly, "She had to go on a trip."
Elijah remembered Cherish’s reminder and didn’t tell the truth. He was packing some small things that Cherish had instructed to return to a certain man, "I’ll pour you a glass of juice."
"Elijah, don’t bother." Sam said, but Elijah was already heading to the kitchen, "It’s fine. Have a seat."
Sam casually walked over to the living room sofa, looking down unintentionally to see a storage box with various small items scattered inside: a Hello Kitty charm, a plain white cotton dress, a pair of blue sneakers, and a set of British-style school uniforms. In the corner of the box, there were also a few small photos in transparent plastic bags.
They were headshots, which were once very popular in schools, especially among girls.
Sam looked curiously at the photos, which showed a boy and a girl. The girl was Cherish without her glasses, looking beautiful and pure, smiling brightly. The boy in the photo was none other than William Griffith.
His sister really did like that man.
"It’s my fault. Everything that William did to my sister was because of me," Sam said out of nowhere, his emotions spiraling out of control. "It’s because I dumped Hailey Griffith. He doesn’t really want my sister; he just wants revenge."
Unable to contain his emotions any longer, Sam bolted out of the apartment, leaving a stunned Elijah behind.
"What..." Elijah’s juice glass suddenly crashed onto the floor, shattering into pieces and spilling juice everywhere.
Sam went to Griffith Corporation, and the receptionist quickly connected him with a supervisor above. Soon after, Sam received approval from William.
Sam learned from Elijah of Cherish’s pregnancy and didn’t want William to cause any harm to his sister.
This was the first time Sam faced William like this.
Inside the president’s office at the top floor of the Griffith Corporation, the two men stared coldly at each other.
Cherish’s near miscarriage caused hatred to cloud Sam’s eyes. He glared maliciously at William, who sat nonchalantly at his desk, neither surprised nor bewildered at Sam’s visit. Sam approached William step by step, his agitation settling down.
Sam regretted and lamented his actions throughout his journey to confront William.
He, who never believed in karma, finally tasted its bitterness.
Sam had been holding a question in his heart for a long time, "William! Did you ever really like my sister?"
"What about you? Did you ever like Hailey?" William replied solemnly.
"You always knew about Hailey and me. William, your cold attitude towards my sister is because you wanted to get back at me, right? Because I wasn’t good to Hailey and I dumped her, isn’t it?" Sam asked angrily.
William remained silent for a while and then said indifferently, "You know about Hailey going to Australia, don’t you?"
Sam was speechless. Of course he knew. He knew that there was another man by Hailey’s side named Edward Smith.
"Hailey was once pregnant with your child, but she lost it."
Sam was stunned, his ears ringing as if he couldn’t accept the truth. He suddenly laughed manically and stumbled backward, then sprinted out of the office.
He rushed in and out, the office door slammed loudly in his wake.
So it wasn’t just as simple as breaking up with Hailey; William sought revenge because Hailey was pregnant and lost the baby.
Sam felt like a real jerk!
He never noticed Hailey’s situation; her appearance with Edward Smith made him believe that they had gone their separate ways without much struggle.
She didn’t say a word.
What was even worse was that on the night he slept with Hailey, his initial intention was so dark.
He thought that by breaking up with Hailey, he would feel better. However, he later realized that he had long liked Hailey, he just didn’t want to admit it. And now, he had become the murderer of their child.
He killed their baby!
Sam, a person like you deserves to go to hell!
