Chapter 580 - 579: Save My Child

Chapter 580: Chapter 579: Save My Child

Cherish Turner suddenly bit her lip, feeling an icy chill surround her, as if she were about to freeze.

His approach was terrifying. Would he not want the child?

Cherish slumped down on the sofa, motionless. She closed her eyes, and a sense of desolate sadness filled her, as if she had reached a dead end with nowhere to turn.

"What do you want?" she finally asked, her voice trembling.

William Griffith calmly strode forward, his tall figure slightly swaying as he crouched down in front of her. He gently took her cold hand, devoid of any warmth, "Why don’t you wear more clothes? Your hands are always so cold."

Cherish said nothing, so he asked again, "Where is your room?"

Still silent, he glanced at the stairs to the second floor, "I’ll grab you a coat."

William stood up and walked up to the second floor. Once his figure disappeared from her sight, Cherish reflexively got up, disregarding everything but her urge to escape. She bolted out the door, running through the front yard until she stopped helplessly. There were several tall men in black clothes standing outside the front yard, inciting fear in her heart.

Was she really at the end of her rope? Was there nowhere to go?

Heavy footsteps sounded from behind her, but Cherish didn’t turn her head. Someone draped a thick coat over her shoulders. It was the cotton coat Elijah Butler had bought specifically for her―warm yet thin. But at this moment, the coat provided no warmth, instead offering only bone-chilling coldness. Cherish shivered all over, yet he wrapped his arms around her, "Are you cold?"

She was like a marionette, letting him lead her back to the house.

"Didn’t I tell you not to run around?" William held her as they sat back down on the sofa, his voice deep and caring as he questioned, "Have you eaten yet?"

Finally unable to bear it anymore, Cherish found his kindness terrifying, "Please, let me go. I want this child, it’s my child. I promise you, I won’t ask for anything, not even a title. Just let me have this child, please."

"It seems like you haven’t eaten yet. I’ll heat up some food for you." William said self-absorbedly and ignored her pleas. He got up to heat up the food, and Cherish clenched her fists, repeating her plea, "Please, let me go."

William’s footsteps froze, his figure blending with the light, blurring his sight, "We’ll talk after dinner."

William personally heated up the food and forcibly seated Cherish at the round table. He picked up dishes and carefully removed the bones from the fish before placing them into her bowl. The chicken soup was steaming hot, filling the air with its aroma. Cherish didn’t move her chopsticks. How could she still eat? However, he picked up a piece of fish and brought it to her mouth, urging her to eat.

"Can you stop doing that?" Cherish was forced to the point where she could no longer tolerate it. Usually, she was patient, but this time she had no choice. Her heart was cold and dead, she said faintly.

"Cherish, eat first." His patience was unbearable, showing no anger.

"Hailey isn’t doing well in Australia. I think I should send Sam Turner to see her. As you know, Sam is the one in her heart, not Edward Smith."

Cherish stared at the dishes in front of her, whispering, "What do you want? What are you trying to do? Are you trying to get revenge on me for your sister? You’ve been approaching me, being nice to me on purpose. I never wanted to get involved with you. I just wanted to live a peaceful life. I never had any illusions. Why are you doing this to me?"

Cherish knew something about Sam and Hailey, but not how serious it was. She only knew that Hailey was not doing well, and yet William was not letting her go at this time.

Feeling suffocated, Cherish’s vision blurred. She held back her tears and suppressed her anguish, "Please, I’m begging you, I give up. William Griffith, I truly give up. I understand why you’re here. I know, I know..." Her voice choked after her last word, and a wave of acid surged up her throat, causing her to cover her mouth.

Cherish immediately got up and rushed to the bathroom.

The door slammed shut, and William put down his chopsticks. He stood up, his handsome face revealing the first trace of sadness. Approaching the bathroom, he heard the sound of water and faint, barely audible sobs, cutting through his heart like the blade of a sharp knife, spilling fresh blood.
