Chapter 571: Chapter 570: Loss of Appetite

From Haicheng to Japan, and then back from Japan to Haicheng, the two days and one night felt as long as a century for Cherish Turner. Dragging her heavy steps back home, Elijah Butler was taking a shower in the apartment. Hearing the door close, Elijah immediately rushed out to see what happened and saw Cherish changing her shoes at the entrance, shouting, "Cherish, you’re back!"

"Yeah."

"Your mom is back, and you keep making a fuss!" Elijah walked to the living room while drying his hair, and Cherish put down her things and took out a hairdryer.

"Cherish, can you blow dry my hair?" Elijah immediately let go and lay down on the couch, watching TV.

The hairdryer hummed as Cherish combed through Elijah’s hair.

A sudden interview about Sam Turner appeared on the TV. After Sam got his doctorate, he became very successful, working for several companies, but never committing to any of them.

Elijah said, "Your brother Sam has become quite popular lately, probably won’t come back for a while."

.

Cherish just gave another "Mm," and continued to hang Elijah’s hair until it was dry, then turned off the hairdryer.

Elijah had been watching TV, but Cherish’s cold reaction finally made him notice that something was wrong, and he abruptly turned to look at her, "Cherish, what’s wrong with you?"

"Nothing." Cherish paused briefly and said softly.

Elijah saw her calm and quiet appearance, got up and hugged her, "Silly girl, what’s wrong?"

Cherish leaned on his shoulder and murmured, "I’m just a little tired, I really want to sleep."

"Then go to sleep quickly." Elijah helped her into the bedroom and tucked her in.

But Cherish slept through that whole night.

On Monday, Cherish skipped work and was scolded by her manager after reporting to the company. The manager was already somewhat displeased with her due to her previous tardiness.

Strangely enough, no matter how much the manager scolded or blamed her, she just didn’t seem to care.

"If you skip work without reason again this month, I’ll fire you!" the manager warned angrily.

Cherish stood silently in front of the desk for a long time, just uttering a faint, "Whatever."

The manager was taken aback, obviously not expecting the usually diligent Cherish to say such a thing, and couldn’t react for a moment. After hearing the scolding, Cherish simply smiled and turned to leave, leaving the astonished manager looking like he had just seen a ghost, yelling, "Cherish Turner! Go run a business for me now! Go immediately!"

Once the manager spoke, Cherish had to take the order and go to several companies to conduct business.

Accompanying her was another slightly older woman who was very enthusiastic and called "Sister Lee" by her colleagues in the department.

Cherish and Sister Lee went out to handle business and simply bought boxed lunches to deal with their hunger at noon.

Sister Lee opened the lunchbox, concernedly urging, "Cherish, let’s eat! It’s not good for a girl to be too skinny! Here! Let me give you this fish fillet! Don’t be so polite to me either!"

"Thanks, Sister Lee, but I don’t need it. I can’t even finish it." Cherish smiled and declined, but Sister Lee insisted on giving it to her.

"I bought an extra one, so don’t worry, just eat up! I’m going to get some ketchup!" Sister Lee said, getting up and walking to the waitress, "Do you have ketchup?"

Cherish picked up her chopsticks and took a bite of rice, but the strong fishy smell made her feel uncomfortable, and something surged in her stomach. She stopped eating and pressed her chest lightly.
