Chapter 529: Chapter 528: Who are you calling casual
His gaze swept over Mother Peacock and looked at the frightened Cherish Turner. He asked in a deep voice, "Cherish, who is she? Do you know her?"
She didn’t expect that after Cherish and her son separated, Cherish would become involved with William Griffith. She felt all kinds of emotions, mostly jealousy. A woman abandoned by her own son should have been in tears, right?
But instead, Cherish ended up with someone even better, which she couldn’t let go of. She tightened her grip on her bag, suppressing her anger, and gritted her teeth, "Cherish Turner! I didn’t know you were such a casual girl!"
"Who are you calling casual?" Before Cherish could speak, William Griffith questioned coldly.
Mother Peacock looked at William Griffith, only to be alarmed by his gloomy handsome face. His eyes were like sharp arrows, piercing into her soul. He lit a cigarette, took a puff, and said in a calm tone, "You can eat anything you want, but you cannot speak carelessly. Understand?"
His casual tone and cold appearance unintentionally revealed an intimidating aura.
Mother Peacock’s body trembled slightly, feeling wronged and resentful. She angrily glared at Cherish Turner, choked with anger and indignant, "Cherish Turner! I was wrong about you! Daniel was wrong, too! How can you deserve my son Daniel? I must tell everyone what kind of girl you are and how unworthy you are of my son!"
"As you wish." William Griffith spat out two words, showing a "please leave" attitude.
Mother Peacock stomped her foot in anger and stormed out of the apartment.
"Auntie Peacock!" Cherish called out anxiously. How could Cherish’s heart not be filled with mixed emotions? The very person who abandoned her was none other than Daniel Peacock, Auntie Peacock’s cherished son. Wasn’t he going to marry that high-class lady?
It was only after the wedding fell through.
Cherish hastily chased after Mother Peacock into the hallway, grappling with each other.
William Griffith’s eyes narrowed, and he took a few steps forward.
He stood at the door and watched the two people continuously entwining in the hallway.
Mother Peacock impatiently kept pushing the elevator button, waiting for it to arrive.
"Auntie Peacock, wait a minute. I haven’t finished talking!" Cherish grabbed her wrist, only to be disgustedly shook off, "Don’t touch me!"
"Cherish Turner, what else do you have to say? You’re living with a man, and now you’re embarrassed? I will definitely tell everyone!" Mother Peacock’s beautiful face turned red with anger, cutting off Cherish’s words with a loud scream. The elevator arrived, and she rushed in. Cherish quickly followed, but Mother Peacock forcefully pushed her out of the elevator, "Don’t follow me! Aren’t you annoying?"
"Auntie Peacock, please take back what you said. I have never let down Daniel Peacock, never!" Her strength was so great that Cherish stumbled backward.
Someone suddenly appeared behind her, protecting her and holding her in his arms.
Cherish slowly looked up, only to see William Griffith’s cold and tense side face. He coldly glanced at Mother Peacock and muttered in a low voice, "Get lost!"
"Let go of me!" Cherish tried to pry open his hand, wanting to continue chasing after her.
But the elevator door slowly closed, and Mother Peacock’s figure disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Cherish broke free from his hand. She immediately pounced on the elevator door and began pounding on it. Thinking of the grievances she had endured recently, she gritted her teeth and turned around to chase after her using the stairs.
William Griffith quickly blocked her path, grabbing her wrist tightly, and ignoring her cries of protest, he directly hoisted her onto his shoulder and carried her back to the apartment. She pounded her fists on his back, but he didn’t seem to be affected, striding into the bedroom and roughly throwing her onto the bed.
