Chapter 484: Chapter 485: Being Attentive

All over Paris, someone’s figure would keep appearing before my eyes, unable to be dispelled no matter how hard I tried.

Cherish Turner frequently had hallucinations, as if simply by turning around she would see him standing behind her, silently smoking. But when she looked back, there was nothing but empty space, filled only with the air of strangers.

Time passed quickly and yet also exceedingly slow, a week had passed in the blink of an eye.

During the last three days, they moved to stay in the suburbs outside of Paris.

"Madam, Miss, you will remain in the castle in the suburbs for the next three days. There’s also an exotic market nearby that you can visit," said the tour guide lady turn around and smile from her front passenger seat, as they were driving towards the suburbs.

Mother Turner was obviously interested and struck up a conversation with the tour guide lady.

Cherish Turner listened quietly with a casual demeanor, a constant note of longing sparked in her heart.

The market was as it had always been, full of passionate gypsies setting up their tents and selling all kinds of trinkets. Mother Turner was picking a gift for Grace Smith and couldn’t decide what to buy. The tour guide decided to accompany her to look around every stall until they found an adorable gypsy doll. Then, Mother Turner stopped and started to negotiate the price with the gypsy vendor.

However, Cherish Turner’s gaze was searching for something among the tents. Her vision hurriedly zoomed through the bearing stores, passing by the vendors, and landing on a gypsy woman.

"I am going to take a look over there." Cherish Turner whispered, releasing her hand from her mother’s and started walking towards the stall.

It was still that same jewelry stall, that same gypsy woman, speaking that same incomprehensibly foreign French. Cherish Turner went before the stall, looking down at the jewelry, and suddenly remember his rare playful and lovable side when he kept her in suspense about what the gypsy woman had said.

Mother Turner came up to her and realized she had been staring blankly at a necklace, assuming she liked it. Mother Turner picked up the necklace and said gently, "Miss tour guide, please tell her, I am buying this necklace."

A woman’s voice rang in her ear and Cherish Turner returned to reality.

"Put it on." Mother Turner gently placed the necklace on her hand and closed her hand around it.

Cherish Turner managed a small smile, but her heart suddenly felt sour.

"Madam, your gift is wrapped now," the tour guide reminded her. Mother Turner turned around and went back to the previous stall.

Cherish Turner opened her hand, the silver chain shining brightly under the sunlight. She quietly took out a ring from her pocket that she had been carrying around and slipped it onto the silver chain, watching it slide fluidly down the chain’s curve. She put the chain around her neck, letting the cool touch of ring rest against her skin and embedded in her heart.

Gustave Eiffel once said: The Eiffel Tower...it submerges me as if I have only built her in my entire life.

But, how many lifetimes does it take to meet the right partner for you?

On the penultimate day of the trip, Daniel Peacock arrived at the castle.

At that time, Cherish Turner and Mother Turner were sipping afternoon tea on the outdoor rooftop. Footsteps sounded from behind them, inducing a look back. Daniel Peacock’s handsome silhouette appeared, eclipsed by the subdued light of the room, then stepped onto the rooftop. Sunlight scattered instantly, even his hair seemed to glow a faint golden hue under its light.

"Aunt Turner." Daniel Peacock called out in his deep voice, warmly regarding the two ladies.

Cherish Turner slightly nodded toward him, not expecting his sudden appearance.

Mother Turner immediately greeted, "Daniel, why are you here?"
