Cherish Turner hurriedly embraced William Griffith, but she didn’t notice the slightly relieved frown on his face.

These days, William spent significantly more time with Cherish. But she was puzzled, shouldn’t he be visiting Chloe? During dinner, Cherish asked him if his tooth still hurt. William nodded, his mouth full of food, and continued eating quietly.

Suddenly, the cell phone rang with a sharp ringtone.

William answered the call, and Cherish watched him on the phone. She heard him say sternly, "What? I’m coming right now!"

"What happened?" Seeing his anxious expression, Cherish couldn’t help but ask.

William immediately put down his chopsticks, grabbed his coat, and prepared to leave. While he was putting on his shoes, he briefly explained, "Chloe Turner was cooking alone at home and started a kitchen fire. Cherish, I’ll be right back."

"William, it’s raining outside..." Before she could say more, he had already slammed the door and left. Her words trailed off, her voice strained as she murmured, "Drive carefully."

Chloe Turner’s apartment kitchen was partially burned, nearly reaching the living room. When William arrived, the apartment’s front door stood wide open, and the air was filled with a strong, pungent smell of smoke. Several security guards walked out of the apartment, having put out the fire. Chloe stood in the hallway, coughing incessantly and looking distressed as she wiped her face with a towel.

"How are you?" William hurriedly approached her and asked in a deep voice.

"I’m fine." Chloe shook her head gently, her face showing lingering fear from the scare.

Seeing the burns on her face, William immediately took her to the hospital.

After being examined by a doctor at the hospital, it was fortunate that Chloe’s facial burns were not severe. With careful treatment, her face would heal in ten days. The doctor’s words allowed William to breathe a sigh of relief. After getting the medication, they left the hospital and returned to the apartment, where the rain began to fall heavily.

The housekeeper had already ventilated the apartment, and the smoke was quickly dissipating. She was now cleaning. William helped Chloe into the apartment and asked the housekeeper for a cup of hot tea. The housekeeper brought the tea, and William handed it to Chloe, asking, "How did you manage to set the kitchen on fire?"
