Chapter 404: Chapter 405: Cannot Linger Chapter 404: Chapter 405: Cannot Linger “Cherish, I didn’t expect you to be such a good drinker.” Harris exclaimed, “Why don’t we drink together?”

Cherish Turner chuckled, “I can only have one drink.”

Everyone had to work the next day, so they didn’t stay out too late. After singing for a while, everyone went home.

Cherish felt somewhat headache, probably because she had been drinking. She wanted to take a walk and get some fresh air, so she said goodbye to her colleagues and left alone. As she walked down the street, a warm breeze hit her face, making her feel uncomfortable and dizzy. She didn’t know that a car was slowly following her from behind.

Cherish leaned against a pole, clutching her chest.

“Did you drink?” A deep male voice suddenly sounded from behind, Cherish’s back stiffened. She looked back and saw that evilly charming face, with sharp features and so cold that it broke her heart.

“Who allowed you to drink?” William Griffith was clearly displeased, reaching forward to support her shoulder. “I’ll take you home.”

“No need.” Cherish uttered two words, gently shaking off his hand. “I can take a taxi by myself.”

William stared at her, “Can’t you just be obedient?”

Cherish just smiled without saying anything. But just as she took a step, she was suddenly lifted off the ground. In a moment, she shouted, “Let me go!”

“Let go!”

“Let me go! I told you to let go!”

“William Griffith!”

Cherish kept shouting, while pounding on his chest and kicking with both legs. However, he never cared about her resistance, continuing to carry her towards the car parked ahead. Passersby around were watching the scene, some looking back at them like watching a drama, while others whistled cheekily, which made her blush and had to turn her face towards his chest, so the pedestrians couldn’t see her face.

William put her in the car and sat down as well.

It was the driver’s seat.

Such a small space, now squeezing two people, seemed even more cramped.

Cherish hurriedly tried to move to the passenger seat to get away, but he locked the car door instead. Then he pulled her back into his arms and hugged her tightly. The position was quite awkward and intimate, making her anxious and not knowing what to do. In her panic, she seemed to have said something like, “You’re being unreasonable! What the hell! Overbearing! Tyrannical! You’re simply beyond comprehension!”

The seat suddenly reclined, and she fell on his strong body, their bodies intimately touching. Her head slammed into his jaw with a muffled sound. Cherish panicked and her struggling movements paused when she heard William’s deep masculine voice murmuring, “Cherish, that really hurts.”

Almost reflexively, she looked up at him anxiously.

But he seemed fine, unharmed. He even hooked up the corners of his mouth, revealing a charming smile to her.

“I never realized your Chinese was so good before.” William encircled her in his arms, leisurely looking at her, his deep voice saying, “You speak quite fluently.”

Cherish realized at that moment that she had been tricked. Annoyed and frustrated, she wanted to say something but found herself unable to speak. She felt helpless and overwhelmed, on top of her existing headache and discomfort. Her face was pale, and she furrowed her brow in agony.

Seeing her face looking unwell, William’s smile disappeared, and his face became solemn. He held her head and pressed it against himself, gently stroking her back, helping her catch her breath. Displeased, he scolded, “I told you not to drink if you can’t handle it. Why do you have to be so stubborn? Feeling bad now, huh?”

Cherish remained silent, listening to his deep murmurs.

His scent comforted her, but she couldn’t allow herself to linger for too long.
