Chapter 303 - 303 303 The Heart Shattered

Chapter 303: Chapter 303: The Heart Shattered Chapter 303: Chapter 303: The Heart Shattered Cherish Turner chose not to respond to his arrogance. She whispered to Thomas Harrison behind her, “Don’t worry, I won’t run away.” She walked forward a few steps and said, “Let’s go shopping.”

“Yes, Miss!” Thomas Harrison followed her.

The World Trade Center, a ten-story spiral shopping mall, was the only one in the business district. The aerial walkway led directly to various office buildings nearby, making it the favorite shopping destination for many white-collar ladies. Little did people know, it was actually an affiliated business of the Griffith subsidiary.

Cherish had never been a fan of luxury items and wasn’t particularly interested in them. However, it seemed deliberate – she didn’t even bother trying on anything. Instead, her fingers swept through the items, and all the products she touched were noted down.

As Thomas Harrison was favored by William Griffith, his presence naturally caught the attention of many mall leaders. The building manager hurried down to greet them. Subsequently, several security guards, managers, and Thomas Harrison all followed Cherish around.

The expansion of the entourage drew everyone’s attention.

Cherish casually glanced at a few dazzling pieces of jewelry and pointed randomly, “This one, this one, and this one…” She turned her head, “And all of those over there as well.”

“Yes! Miss!” The salesclerk behind her noted down each item without delay.

Afterward, Cherish entered another fashion store.

Ten minutes later, they moved on to the next one…

The continuous shopping spree occurred throughout the World Trade Center building. It wasn’t until two hours later that the previously unknown young lady finally stopped shopping. She then went to an Italian artisan ice cream shop, and the staff immediately cleared the customers inside. Everyone thought she would sample every dessert in the shop, but she only ordered two scoops of vanilla ice cream.

This store was a place she and Grace Harper used to frequent.

As neither of them had much money to spare, Grace spent most of her income on daily expenses. Although they owned a company, it didn’t generate substantial income. They seldom bought luxury items in the mall, but they often visited this artisan ice cream shop.

The ice cream had a taste of memories. But now, Grace was nowhere to be found, and Cherish could only taste the bitterness by herself.

In the spacious shop, she sat alone in a corner by the window.

She gazed at the ice cream without taking a single bite, only watching it slowly melt.

Chloe Turner’s and Grace Harper’s words still lingered in her ears.

What was the relationship between the Griffith family and Turner family? The Griffith family had caused the death of Bob Turner and the downfall of the Turner family…

Grace Harper was even willing to sacrifice her own flesh and blood for the sake of revenge.

What was the secret Chloe could not reveal?

Wasn’t finding out the truth essential? She was a member of the Turner family, so why couldn’t she know? Why was she being stopped?

Even if the truth was terrifying, it had to be better than not knowing, right?

But his dictatorial decision to make her blind and deaf to these matters saddened her.

Cherish felt that it wasn’t William who had drifted away from her this time, but her who had gradually drifted away from him.

“Miss Turner, it’s nearly time. The boss said we must have dinner together.” Thomas approached her and whispered softly. Although he didn’t want to interrupt her thoughts, the boss’s orders were absolute. Besides, no one dared to provoke the boss now.

Cherish watched the melting ice cream drip on the table and felt as if her heart had shattered.
