Chapter 266: Chapter 266: Sudden Bad News Chapter 266: Chapter 266: Sudden Bad News Cherish Turner arrived early at the coffee shop Grace Harper had mentioned. She ordered a coffee for herself and after some thought, a juice for Grace.

She waited for ten minutes, but Grace had yet to arrive. Cherish checked her watch, hesitated for a moment, then decided to call Grace.

But no one answered the phone.

Cherish was somewhat puzzled – she had been the one to arrange the meeting, had she gotten the time or location wrong?

Unable to reach Grace by phone, Cherish sent her a message:

“Sister Grace, I’m already at Image Coffee Shop.” She didn’t say much else, afraid of seeming as if she was hurrying Grace. As a pregnant woman, being too anxious was not good.

However, there was no response to her message. Not until five minutes later did Cherish finally receive a reply from Grace:

“Cherish, I’m at the intersection across the street. The store here offers discounts on baby supplies. I want to check it out. Come find me.”

Upon seeing the text, Cherish replied with an OK, and then swiftly consumed the two untouched drinks in front of her – it seemed like such a waste otherwise.

Cherish, standing at the doorway of the coffee shop, could see Grace across the street.

Grace was smiling and waving at her.

“Sister Grace!” Cherish called out with a smile and started to run towards her.

However, at this moment, the crowd around her instantly increased. A group of people, drawn towards the discounted products, surged into the shop.

Caught in the crowd, Cherish was bumped into by someone. She careened towards Grace.

Seeing Cherish rush towards her, Grace looked flustered.

She was pregnant now, unable to withstand any shocks. However, Cherish seemed unable to control her momentum or direction. Cherish tried to change her direction before she fell, but she was unsuccessful.

Feeling a strong hand on her back, pushing her towards Grace, Cherish fell towards Grace with even more force, knocking her to the ground.

Grace lost balance and fell backwards, landing on a speed bump. Meanwhile, Cherish, had fallen onto Grace’s stomach…

All at once, the scene was chaotic. Only after falling did Cherish realize that she seems to have knocked into Grace’s stomach. As she began to rise, she realized that it was too late to change anything.

Her fist had struck Grace’s stomach, and Grace had landed with her head on the ground. The pain contorted Grace’s face before she fell unconscious.

The crowd that had been pushing and shoving cleared a path, only to highlight the fall of Cherish and Grace.

Cherish was stunned. Her face paled and it was a while before she reacted, crying out when she turned to look at Grace.

“Sister Grace, I… I didn’t mean it. Don’t scare me, you can’t be hurt!”

She wanted to help Grace up incoherently, but someone in the crowd shouted—

“Blood… that girl is bleeding!”

Only then did Cherish see that Grace’s head was bleeding profusely from a wound caused by the fall, soaking her hair.

“My… my stomach hurts so much…” In a daze, Grace could only clutch her abdomen and let out a weak cry, completely out of it.

While Cherish was calling for an ambulance, her gaze fell upon a patch of dark red seeping out of Grace’s pants, filling her with complete despair…
