Chapter 225 - 225 225 Who Did We Annoy
Chapter 225: Chapter 225: Who Did We Annoy? Chapter 225: Chapter 225: Who Did We Annoy? Around 10 in the evening, Soudou Nami was out with friends, having a few drinks.
Following a plagiarism scandal, Soudou Nami, after years of being in obscurity, was once again in the public eye. Even her previously published comic books were being reprinted—a beneficial outcome to her, despite the circumstances.
Stumbling a bit from the drinks, Soudou walked down a deserted street, oblivious to the unassuming yet dangerous Maserati SUV parked not far behind her.
Thomas Harrison glanced back at his boss, then at Soudou Nami in front of him, and asked, “Boss, the one in front, is she Miss Soudou.”
William Griffith pulled out a lighter. He hadn’t smoked for a long time, but under the cover of night, he lit a cigarette. His eyes flickered with the sparks, hiding his thoughts.
Thomas thought it rare to see his boss this way, he must have been genuinely angry this time.
Miss Turner’s resilient approach to life was something Thomas understood well. Seeing her efforts maligned into a disreputable figure most likely infuriated the boss.
“Meet her.” Suddenly, William extinguished his lighter, flicked the cigarette out of the window, rolled up the window, and faded into the night.
Following William’s orders, Thomas started the car, tracing Soudou Nami’s steps, the vehicle disappeared into the night.
An hour later, an anxious and deeply panicked Soudou Nami was escorted into a dim, yet opulent room—eerily quiet and devoid of anyone else.
“Who are you, why have you captured me? Come out, tell me or I’ll call the police!”
Soudou yelled, but no one responded.
In another room, William watched Soudou Nami’s every move, observing her arrogance turn into fear and anxiety.
William believed he never meddled with women; as they represent a vulnerable group, he avoided conflicts. However, there were always exceptions.
Like this damned woman now.
Thomas glanced at William and after receiving a signal, he entered Soudou’s room.
Seeing someone finally arrive, Soudou lost all control.
“Who are you, why did you kidnap me? Let me go now!”
The woman lunged at him but was swiftly restrained before she could even come close.
“Miss Soudou, aren’t you aware of the wrongs you’ve committed recently? Karma always comes around; everything is seen,” said Thomas, pointing to the sky.
Soudou understood the accusation and her guilt started showing: “I don’t understand what you’re implying. Who are you?”
“Here’s the 50 million Yen that suddenly appeared in your account. Even though the transaction was from an anonymous account, locating it isn’t tough. The sender was smart enough to send the money as royalties to your account, but, Miss Soudou, you know very well how much of your book actually sold,”
Thomas handed her a copy of her financial records spanning the recent period. Every detail was clearly laid out.
Soudou Nami was taken aback, her guard up against the man in front of her. She realized she had entangled with a formidable adversary who could expose her well-hidden activities within such a short timeframe.
