Domineering Love
Chapter 200 - 200 200 The Test of Love

Chapter 200: Chapter 200: The Test of Love Chapter 200: Chapter 200: The Test of Love “Cough…cough…” On the hospital bed, Chloe Turner’s forehead was covered in beads of sweat, as if she was trapped in a nightmare, moving her head restlessly.

It seemed like she was about to wake up from a long, long dream.

“Chloe, wake up. How are you?” William Griffith asked with concern. He cautiously reached out to hold her hand, watching her every move closely.

“I’ll go get the doctor.” Julian Brown stepped forward and observed Chloe’s condition. Because of his own medical experience, he sensed what was happening and quickly went to fetch the doctor from Haicheng Hospital.

Soon, the doctors arrived and began examining Chloe in the VIP ward. After a series of intensive examinations, various medical instruments started to stabilize. William’s gaze on Cherish Turner became more focused.

The hand William was holding lightly moved at the fingertips, seeming to have a response. William’s expression tightened, and he carefully watched her closed eyes until suddenly, she opened them wide, as if she had been shot in the chest and jolted awake from her sleep!

Chloe woke up!

However, she didn’t respond much to the people around her, as if she were still immersed in her own world. Perhaps she had slept for too long and hadn’t fully come to her senses yet.

After examining Chloe thoroughly, the experts concluded that Miss Turner was out of danger, but further examination was needed to determine if there would be any relapses. For now, the focus was on rest and stable treatment.

William let out a sigh of relief, but Julian could tell that his brother didn’t seem relaxed.

If he were in the same situation, caught between two women, he would certainly not be comfortable either.

Julian glanced at Chloe then at William, and feeling sympathetic, said, “I’ll go discuss her condition with the experts. You stay with her.”

William nodded.

At that moment, only William and Chloe were left in the hospital room.

“Chloe,” he tried calling her.

Finally, Chloe’s gaze shifted from blank to focusing on William. Her eyes paused on him for a few seconds, and then became tearful with excitement, “William… ”

Her voice was weak and somewhat hoarse, making her sound particularly aggrieved. After all these years, she could finally appear in front of him at such a close distance. Many things had changed, but some people remained the same,

William understood that Chloe had just woken up and needed rest. Seeing her finally sober gave him some relief. He tried to let go of her hand to tuck her in more snugly, but as soon as he moved, Cherish’s IV-infused hand tried to grip his tightly. As a result, she moved the needle, causing blood to flow back into her vein.

“Don’t move, lie down properly.”

“William, don’t leave me. Don’t ever leave me again, okay? I’m so scared. I’m scared that all of this is just a dream. I’m having a good dream now, but I’ll wake up soon.”

She desperately wanted to grasp the present moment, not wanting to fall into the abyss again.

William stopped trying to move. Now was not the time to agitate her.

“Alright, I won’t leave. Don’t worry. I won’t go anywhere and will stay right here with you, so don’t be afraid.”

Every time Chloe showed such a panicked and hurt look, it reminded William of Bob Turner and the promise he made to take care of Chloe for the rest of his life.

Only when it seemed that William would indeed stay did Chloe begin to feel a little more at ease.

At the door, Julian watched his friend’s back and sighed. Perhaps there really was a significant hurdle between him and Cherish, and they needed to overcome it. However, it was unknown whether the feelings between these two people could withstand the unpredictable situation posed by Chloe’s sudden awakening!
