Chapter 190 - 190 190 How Can Two Hearts Be Apart
Chapter 190: Chapter 190: How Can Two Hearts Be Apart Chapter 190: Chapter 190: How Can Two Hearts Be Apart William Griffith did not agree with Julian Brown’s proposal in his heart, because instinctually, he didn’t want to keep anything from Cherish Turner. No matter what he had to face, he didn’t want to hurt her, not even a little bit, not even temporarily.
“Don’t be impulsive and blurt everything out to your little girlfriend. My advice is, if you really want to have a long-term relationship with her, listen to me. As for Chloe’s situation after waking up, we don’t know. Don’t mess things up on your own first.”
William Griffith seriously considered Julian Brown’s words and ultimately accepted his advice.
After learning about Chloe Turner’s condition from the doctor, they both felt somewhat reassured. That day, William didn’t stay in the hospital; instead, he arranged for a professional nurse to take care of Chloe. At the moment, he needed to mentally prepare himself to face Chloe.
He called Cherish in the evening, but she didn’t answer the phone. He called again, but still no one picked up.
William figured that maybe she was busy. He knew she was swamped with work lately, and even though he missed her, he restrained himself from disturbing her.
Cherish, however, was just sitting on the sofa, watching her constantly vibrating phone, once, twice, three times until the ringing finally stopped.
She didn’t know what would happen if she answered William’s call. Would she directly ask him who he went to see and why? Or would he not give her a truthful answer anyway? She was incredibly curious about how he would respond, but she didn’t have the courage to ask.
She suddenly thought of Daniel Peacock. Almost immediately, she grabbed her phone, searched for his number, hesitated briefly and then made the decisive call.
In the hotel, Daniel Peacock was drinking red wine, standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the Tokyo night view, his heart full of waves.
Finally, his phone rang. He turned around and answered the call.
Cherish’s voice burst in almost immediately.
“Where are you? Let’s meet.” There were too many things she wanted to know – William’s past, the photo of someone with her face she saw at William’s house, and right before the registration, the figure she saw at the barbecue restaurant with Elijah Butler.
All signs told her that it was not her imagination. It could be just her imagination for once, but if it happened again and again, she knew it couldn’t be a coincidence.
“Okay, you choose the location, I’ll come to you…” Daniel Peacock was clearly waiting for her to come to him.
They agreed on a place and set off separately. When Daniel Peacock arrived, Cherish was already sitting there.
Daniel Peacock didn’t immediately go in; he stood outside, watching the lonely figure of Cherish on the chair.
He thought that this time, he had to seize the opportunity to regain his position in her heart. A man like William Griffith could not give her happiness and stability. The only person who could offer her that was Daniel Peacock himself.
As he entered the café, Daniel Peacock greeted Cherish who glanced at him; she couldn’t see through the man in front of her.
“Daniel Peacock, you know I came to you because I want to know the truth, right?”
Daniel Peacock nodded; if she wanted to know, he would naturally tell her.
“So, tell me, does that girl look exactly like me?”
Cherish’s eyes held a hint of expectation, hoping it wasn’t as she imagined. She hoped that William liked her for who she was, not for anyone else attached to her.
