Chapter 184: Chapter 184: Reluctance Chapter 184: Chapter 184: Reluctance Cherish Turner jogged over, with Yara King following close behind, but instead of joining her, Yara stood back, observing their conversation.

“I know there are three available spots for outstanding students in the Elite Society this time, very precious ones. You have to give it your all. I have high hopes for you.”

The professor’s encouragement filled Cherish with confidence. If the professor said so, there must be a pretty good chance she’d be picked!

Not far behind, Yara clenched her fist, feeling very resentful.

When Cherish returned to the study group, she ran into Yara. It was odd; she hadn’t left yet. After a quick chat, Yara hurried off, and Cherish packed up her things and left as well.

Life carried on as usual. Before she knew it, half of her time in Japan was done. There was so much to do every day at the study group, a lot of notes to take down when she returned, and she had to submit a thesis before leaving Japan. Cherish often went to bed late because she couldn’t finish everything.

William Griffith was back often as well, but due to frequent calls from home, Lewis was sent back. It was back and forth between China and Japan ever since.

One evening, William had a flight to the seaside city and didn’t tell Cherish in advance. Cherish didn’t expect him to come.

The doorbell went ding-dong. Cherish took off her black-framed glasses, walked to the door in her pyjamas, and was both startled and pleased to see him through the peephole. She thought he’d be too busy working to come today.

“Why are you here?” Cherish asked as she pulled William inside.

The hotel room was warm, a comfortable refuge compared to the damp and cold weather outside.

“Hmm, I came to see you. I have a flight to the seaside city at eleven tonight, didn’t plan to tell you initially. But I couldn’t resist coming to see you.”

So that was it. Hearing that he was leaving, Cherish felt a bit down. These days, even in Japan, she would often see William. Sometimes, he and Tanigawa would model for her. She thought life abroad couldn’t be more pleasant.

“Oh, when will you be back?” She asked impulsively, but felt embarrassed afterwards as if her feelings were too openly displayed.

“I haven’t left yet, and you’re already urging me to come back? Are you going to miss me?”

Seeing her shy look, William really wanted to stay and accompany her until they returned home together.

“No, I just thought that once you’re gone, I won’t have a model anymore.” She tried to shake off his hand as thinking about William’s attractive body at such a close distance made her heart race.

But William didn’t intend to let her go. Every extra moment of holding her was precious.

“Don’t go. I don’t want to leave thinking about not seeing you on the plane, miss not having you in the seaside city.” He hugged her and kissed her hair, inhaling the fragrance.

His unexpected confession left her dumbstruck. Not that they hadn’t been intimate before, but each time this man got close to her, he had a bewitching power that made her retreat, afraid that she wouldn’t be able to resist reciprocating and crossing the last boundary unexpectedly.

“Why are you suddenly acting so childish? You’ll be back, won’t you?” Cherish tenderly hugged him back. The two of them nestled together, quietly relishing the romantic moment on this peaceful night.
