Chapter 222: Chapter 190: Principled, but Not Many
Such an innocuous threat, what’s the point of telling Zhang Ningzhi?
Everyone’s free to believe what they want.
Who saw it anyway?
Jiang Nian whistled, feeling quite happy.
Lost three bucks today, oh no... plus half a bottle of water that costs one yuan. Let’s call it three-point-seven, buying a good mood for the evening. Totally worth it!
Not getting into fights or damaging others’ property, just highly insulting but with little harm.
Will the boss, after packing up and going home, be able to sleep tonight?
Jiang Nian didn’t know the answer, but he knew he’d sleep soundly. Taking an early shower on a rainy day, then diving into his cozy bed, dry and comfortable.
The phone of Emperor Zeng You in the front row was plugged into a Romoss power bank, lying on the desk.
Probably bored, chatting with his roommate Wu Jungu.
"If only this rain keeps going until tomorrow morning, just like this drizzling rain. After a shower, drink some water, then straight to bed, it’s pure bliss."
Wu Jungu glanced at him, curiously asking.
"Why drink water? Won’t you wake up in the middle of the night needing the bathroom?"
Zeng You shook his head, teasing.
"You just don’t get it, sleeping in this weather is the first pleasure. When you wake up needing the bathroom and see it’s 3:30 AM, that’s the second pleasure."
"Brilliant, you basically have two sleeps in one night." Jiang Nian clapped his hands, admiringly leaning in, "Whoa, you really know how to enjoy life."
"Of course, the essence is the midnight bathroom trip." Zeng You boasted, "I often read novels until 2:30, then pass out, wake up once, then... "
"Guess what time I wake up? 3:30! So even though I’m staying up late, after deep sleep once, I can start over again."
"Damn, that’s awesome, no wonder you’re so energetic every day." Jiang Nian played the perfect sidekick.
"You’re too kind, you should try it." Zeng You became slightly embarrassed.
Wu Jungu watched them talking happily, hesitating to speak.
This damn... isn’t sleep time still limited? Even if you go to the bathroom seven times in a night, making your prostate swell, it’s still just seven or eight hours.
Suddenly, Jiang Nian asked.
"Zeng You, what if you wake up in the morning, finish in the bathroom, and only have three minutes left before the bell rings?"
Upon hearing this, the smile on Zeng You’s face vanished.
"Damn, then I’d really want to die."
"But let’s not forget, our dorm is on the fifth floor." Zeng You said, "Other than being hot in summer and cold in winter, it’s not too bad."
"I have a friend in the B-level humanities class; their dorm is on a dark, windowless first floor. At noon there’s no light, the mop in their dorm grows mushrooms."
Jiang Nian didn’t react much, but this description gave Wu Jungu goosebumps.
"Can people even live there?"
"Of course, just the corners don’t get light." Seizing the time for evening study, Zeng You animatedly explained, "**** (protective encryption)."
"Ugh!" Wu Jungu gagged instinctively, "Please, don’t say it, ugh!"
"Holy crap, you’re truly disgusting." Jiang Nian couldn’t handle it either, admitting defeat, "If it were me, I’d switch to being a day student, too terrifying."
"Come on, boarding is cheap, renting is expensive." Zeng You tossed his hair, "You guys are so weak, clearly don’t have much boarding experience."
"When I boarded at junior high in the countryside, the conditions were really bad. Washing with cold water in December, and behind the bathroom was a burial mound."
"Where’s your hometown?" Jiang Nian asked curiously.
"Over by Tianshi Town."
"Oh, it is a bit undeveloped over there." Jiang Nian replied, "The most developed town near Zhen Nan should be Yunmu Town, where Chen Yunyun and the others are."
"Indeed, they have a large population, and many milk tea and snack shops." Zeng You nodded, "We just have quarries over there."
The more they talked, the more excited they became, not stopping until the evening study ended.
Zeng You felt somewhat unsatisfied, having many tales from his junior high in the countryside to tell. The people were a mixed bag, but after entering high school, he found everyone around him was normal.
One day, on a whim, he searched online for the fates of middle school punks, surprised to find they either earned hundreds of thousands or were skilled at networking.
He instantly felt distressed, wondering if all his bullying was for nothing.
As evening study ended, the physics class representative handed out test papers.
Yao Beibei took an extra paper, folded the blank one, and placed it in Zhang Ningzhi’s drawer. She turned her head and saw Jiang Nian taking a picture of his paper, feeling puzzled.
"Looking up answers?"
"Nonsense, just taking a backup." Jiang Nian said helplessly, turning the camera toward Yao Beibei, "Here, Huang Beibei, a backup for you too."
Yao Beibei covered her face with her hand, "Are you crazy!"
"What’s the big deal."
Jiang Nian couldn’t care less about Huang Beibei, he simply sent all the photos of the test papers to Zhang Ningzhi.
Then he slowly started doing the test himself, waiting calmly for the answers. Before he knew it, an entire session had passed, and he only looked up when the bell rang.
Since this was just a routine physics test, the rules weren’t that strict. In theory, even if you handed it in late, it wouldn’t matter much.
Jiang Nian had completed what he could, leaving unanswered the ones he didn’t know.
Bzz, Zhang Ningzhi had sent over the answers.
He glanced at them, pulled out a blank paper, and copied them for her. Gotta admit, Zhi Zhi has both great grades and strong performance, even managing to solve physics problems.
False hexagon - Jiang Nian.
The true hexagonal warrior... Zhi Zhi can only barely make it, strictly speaking, it should be the class monitor.
After copying, Jiang Nian couldn’t resist glancing back at the class monitor.
Li Qingrong had already finished. Seeing him turn, she was slightly stunned. She placed her slender fingers on her completed paper and slowly pushed it forward.
"No, no, I don’t need it." Jiang Nian clarified quickly, seeing Li Qingrong’s misunderstanding, "I’ve finished mine, just wanted to see how many points I can score."
Li Qingrong took her paper back, nodding.
"Okay."
Despite his words, Jiang Nian immediately turned and changed the answer to the sixth multiple-choice question.
Originally chose B.
He had principles, but not many.
Li Hua had finished long ago, engrossed in reading "A Shua". Occasionally bursting into intellectual laughter, damn, managed to balance work and leisure.
Damn! Made people envious to the point of spinning.
After the papers were collected, Jiang Nian followed the crowd to relieve himself.
Due to the delayed evening study dismissal, other than their class people, the corridor felt extraordinarily quiet with everyone else in their classrooms.
Until that damn kid Li Hua slid out of the classroom, excitedly shouting in the corridor.
"Damn, wanna go to the cafeteria for some food?"
Suddenly, three to five boys responded with "damn", then swaggered past Class 2’s door, enthusiastically discussing the physics test.
"Damn, the answer can be calculated?"
"Hm? That small question, is it doable? I just wrote a formula."
"Ahhhhh!! I think I missed a step, will the goddamn teacher deduct my points! Nooo, boohoo, not livable!"
Jiang Nian joined in, after observation, he concluded.
Speaking reasonably with detailed analysis of physics problems was a sixty-point goblin. Silent and indifferent was the eighty-point hero.
Exaggerated expressions, crying and fussing threatening to jump off was the cheap Li Hua losing one or two points.
Third period night self-study.
"Spitting water?" Yu Zhiyi looked surprised, "You’re saying someone quarrelled with the vendor selling veggie rolls at the entrance and then spat water at the vendor’s face?"
"Yeah, I heard the scene was explosive." The deskmate shook their head amazed, "Too bad I went to buy food at the front door and missed the classic scene."
Yu Zhiyi frowned, subconsciously looking towards Jiang Nian’s seat.
Spitting water, such a familiar term.
Could it be such coincidence?
Huang Caicai’s thoughts got a bit mixed up, he would sneak out shortly before this night study session ended. Carrying things following Yang Qiming, going to meet his ex-girlfriend.
Because as a sophomore, he didn’t need to attend four evening study sessions, he must leave early.
Actually, skipping class isn’t a big deal as long as there’s an appropriate excuse, like a stomachache to smoothly brush it off.
The point is, can Yang succeed?
Repaid for his loyalty, after eating Yang’s food, he naturally had to worry for him. How could his sister-in-law be so unreasonable, it would be great if they reconciled.
But again, if they reconcile, can he still eat shrimp dumplings?
Pah! How could he have such thoughts!
Huang Caicai shook his head vigorously, it didn’t matter even if he couldn’t eat shrimp dumplings! As a person, one must have a conscience, shrimp dumplings were unimportant, Yang’s happiness was the most important.
Unknowingly, his gaze became clear.
He was indeed a loyal subject!
As the night self-study session came to an end, Jiang Nian turned his head, curiously asking.
"Where did those two go?"
"To the bathroom, I guess." Yao Beibei replied without looking up.
She was working on a math test paper, finding herself stumped by the last question. Unwilling to ask Li Hua, she thought of Jiang Nian and patted Jiang Nian’s shoulder.
"Jiang Nian."
"What’s up?" Jiang Nian responded with a deadpan expression.
"Look at this problem, do you know how to solve it?" Yao Beibei handed the paper to Jiang Nian, "If you solve it, I’ll tell you a secret."
Jiang Nian glanced at the problem, letting out an "oh".
"This problem, huh~"
"How do you solve it?" Yao Beibei’s eyes lit up.
"First write ’solution’, the paper is blank." Jiang Nian directed so matter-of-factly, "Write it, why are you looking at me? Are you going to write the word ’solution’ on my face?"
Yao Beibei suddenly got upset but held it in for the sake of the answer.
"Fine."
"And a colon, you’re not writing the colon after ’solution’?" Jiang Nian displayed a mentor-like demeanor, "A colon, you know, two dots, one above the other."
"And then?" Yao Beibei asked through gritted teeth.
"Copy down the given conditions, ’Given, therefore can deduce’." Jiang Nian patiently instructed, "Write it, Huang Beibei, why are you looking at me again."
Yao Beibei kept her cool, smiling gently.
"Alright, and then? I mean the solution method, don’t tell me you don’t know?"
Jiang Nian looked confused, then seriously said.
"That’s my solution method, I’ve always done it this way. At least you’d get one point, and maybe if you write another formula, you might get two points."
