Chapter 60: Glorious Achievement Scavenger!

Chapter 60: Glorious Achievement Scavenger!

Ironblood Beastmaster’s plan had been solid. But reality? Reality delivered a swift and brutal blow.

The moment Ironblood Beastmaster hit the ground, Ironblood Falcon cried out—Ryan’s Judgment landed clean, stripping 200 health and sending him crashing down like a stone.

It only took a few regular swings for Ironblood Falcon’s health to plummet. The extra holy damage from the Radiant Light enchantment wasn’t helping him either—it only made things worse.

Now, Ryan was left standing with roughly 200 health. On the enemy side, a Rogue and a Warlock still stood at full strength. His only ally, a Warrior, was barely hanging on at half health.

But in both camps, there was the same thought.

’Victory is ours!’

The Warlock, Ironblood Demon, turned and began to flee, flinging spells behind him as he ran. Small bursts of damage chipped away at their already fragile health pools. His summoned imp scampered around, hurling tiny fireballs at Ryan like an annoying wasp that wouldn’t quit.

Meanwhile, Ironblood Dagger, the Rogue, knew better than to face a heavily armored Paladin head-on. Instead, he circled around constantly, trying to shake combat and vanish into stealth.

Ryan saw through the tactic. A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth as he slowly began casting Radiant Light. Just as he predicted, Ironblood Dagger darted in, hoping to interrupt the channeling.

Across the field, Moonlight Beauty disengaged from the fight entirely. She didn’t chase or attack. Instead, she pulled food from her pack, sat down, and began eating to restore health.

The sight of it made Ironblood Demon furious.

He barked orders at his imp, sending it toward Moonlight Beauty to harass her and stop her from healing up comfortably.

"Game over," Ryan said, grinning.

Ironblood Dagger had taken the bait. Ryan laughed aloud, then burned three points of Divine Power to cast Radiant Glory on himself. A surge of holy energy flooded him—healed for 700 points in an instant, back to full health.

Ironblood Dagger froze.

The Rogue stood there, completely stunned by the sudden reversal. His blade hesitated in mid-air, his eyes locked onto Ryan with disbelief.

Ryan didn’t hesitate.

Judgment.

One strike.

Judgment.

Another.

In two clean hits, Ironblood Dagger collapsed, his body hitting the ground in silence.

Only one remained now—Ironblood Demon. The last of the five-man team from the Ironblood Covenant.

He saw the looks exchanged between Featherlight and Moonlight Beauty. They weren’t friendly. Panic overtook him.

Muttering a string of curses in Orcish—none of which Ryan or Moonlight Beauty could understand—Ironblood Demon turned and bolted.

But he wasn’t getting far.

Ryan and Moonlight Beauty had mounts. With the 100% movement speed bonus from their steeds, they caught up within seconds. Ryan raised his arm—Avenger’s Shield soared through the air, striking true.

The Warlock froze.

Silenced for three full seconds.

For Ironblood Demon, it may as well have been a lifetime. He had seen what Featherlight could do. That kind of damage could take down an entire squad in moments. How long could he really last?

The answer was simple: not long.

He didn’t even try to fight back. Once the silence lifted, he was swiftly cut down. His soul slipped free, his body crumpling into the dirt.

Ryan grinned as the Glorious Achievement notification flashed before his eyes. From a distance, he waved at Moonlight Beauty, then turned and rode off.

"Guild Leader!" Moonlight Beauty called after him. "Why aren’t we corpse camping? We could’ve farmed more Honor!"

She wasn’t done. The blood was still rushing in her veins, the thrill of combat lighting up her voice. She kept pushing, eager to find more stray members of the Orc faction to hunt down.

Ryan shook his head without looking back.

"That’s not happening. We only beat that five-man team with just the two of us because we caught them off-guard," he said. "If we tried that head-on, they could wipe us quite easily."

Ryan shrugged, helpless and amused.

The brutal, drawn-out battle he’d anticipated had ended in a blink—and with far less resistance than expected. Still, it was a pleasant surprise.

If he hadn’t known the game’s mechanics inside and out, he might’ve gotten cocky. Stayed too long. Ended up getting corpse-camped into oblivion.

Moonlight Beauty clearly wasn’t satisfied with walking away. But once she saw her rewards, her frustration gave way to reluctant acceptance.

Moonlight Beauty gritted her teeth as she read through the haul. Then she broke into a soft, slightly manic chuckle.

"Guild Leader, is your absurd power all because of these Glorious Achievements?" she asked, pulling up beside Ryan on horseback.

He nodded with a half-smile. "Yeah. Pretty much."

It wasn’t a complete lie. The Glorious Achievements had definitely boosted his strength. But the true foundation of his power lay elsewhere—deep in the secrets of Astral City.

There, Ryan had gained things no other player had access to yet. Hidden professions, obscure mechanics, exclusive control over the wandering merchant who sold gear others couldn’t even dream of.

And then there was the Public Bank Vault—an account stocked with high-tier future items. Most of it was unusable right now, locked behind level caps or system limitations. But once the game reached the mid-stage, it would become his personal armory of devastation.

Still, the Auxiliary Talent Points from the Glorious Achievements? Those were a genuine surprise. At this early stage, they were easily the most impactful part of his power-up.

So technically... he wasn’t lying.

"I’ll challenge you again one day, Guild Leader," Moonlight Beauty declared, her voice firm with resolve. "After I’ve racked up a few Glorious Achievements of my own—and hit max level with all my skills unlocked!"

She gave a determined nod, clearly taking herself very seriously.

Ryan just smiled.

She wasn’t his match now, and she certainly wouldn’t be later. Especially not as a Warrior. Paladins were already a hard counter, and he wasn’t just any Paladin—he was a Protection Paladin. The bane of banes.

As the two rode together across Blood Gorge once more, heading back toward Alliance of Light territory, the world moved on.

---

Meanwhile, chaos was brewing on the forums.

The buzz about guild rankings and PvP skirmishes hadn’t even cooled when another shockwave hit the community: Featherlight had claimed his fourth Glorious Achievement.

Players were losing it.

Posts exploded across the threads. Memes, reaction clips, wild speculation.

They had a new nickname for him now:

"Glorious Achievement Scavenger."

---

Not everyone was amused, though.

Back in the Ironblood Covenant’s base, things were falling apart.

When Ironblood Blade got word of the team wipe and learned how Ironblood Falcon had fumbled the fight, he nearly stormed over to Falcon’s house to knock some sense into him. It took several officers to hold him back.

Even so, Ironblood Falcon didn’t walk away unscathed. He was stripped of his title as Warrior Captain and demoted to a regular member of the raid team.

---

In a cold, foggy shower, Ironblood Falcon stood alone. Water streamed down his bare skin as he stared at the tiled wall.

"Featherlight... I won’t let this go," he muttered through clenched teeth.

Steam swirled in the air, but the chill in his voice was colder than the water running over him.

"Just you wait."
