Divine Beast Creator -
Chapter 995 - 996: Fishing
Chapter 995: Chapter 996: Fishing
"Don’t bother with them..."
Holding his face, Feng Yuan had no idea what to do with Veronia and Agunas, who were arguing again. Cen Chudie looked at Veronia curiously and said,
"Is it actually not afraid of Agunas?"
"Why should I fear this Little Crocodile?"
Veronia glanced at Agunas with disdain and said, while Feng Yuan smiled brightly, saying,
"It’s of the same rank as a Divine Beast as Agunas. How could it possibly be afraid?"
"Stronger than it!"
"If it weren’t for the World of Mirrors, you might not be a match for me at all."
Agunas glanced at Veronia and said indifferently as if he were stating a fact. Hearing Agunas’s words, Veronia glared back, visibly irritated. However, what he said was indeed true; as a particularly special Divine Beast, its authority was mostly concentrated in the World of Mirrors. Without the World of Mirrors, it indeed might not be able to defeat Agunas.
"Alright, alright, we’re out to have fun, so could you two please stop fighting?"
Feng Yuan tried to intervene in the bickering with a hint of helplessness. Perhaps because today was indeed not suitable for arguing, Agunas and Veronia exchanged glances, snorted coldly, turned their backs on each other, and stopped looking at each other. Cen Chudie glanced at Agunas and Veronia, then looked at Feng Yuan and asked,
"You really have your hands full, but why do they all gather around you?"
"Chudie!"
Upon hearing Cen Chudie’s words, even before Feng Yuan could say anything, Granny Mianlan frowned and scolded her a bit angrily. In her view, this was Feng Yuan’s own secret, and she shouldn’t be asking about it. Yun You tugged at Cen Chudie and said to Feng Yuan,
"Don’t mind her; that’s just how she is. She didn’t mean to ask that on purpose."
"How come you make it sound like I’m the bad guy... It’s not strange for them to follow me around, right? Is it wrong for me to have a good relationship with Agunas and the others? As for Veronia, it stayed with me due to some special reasons."
Feng Yuan did not reveal the rune mark on his arm. Although it could be understood, he was also afraid that if it leaked out, others might have strange ideas, for apart from him, no one else had the means to limit or even control a Divine Beast. Even though it was a setup by the Guardian God of the Yin World, others wouldn’t know that and would think it was his own doing.
Veronia glanced at Feng Yuan and nodded without objecting to his words. As for why it remained by Feng Yuan’s side, whether it was because of the chains that restrained it or some other reason, only it knew.
"Let me see, is it okay to use a carpet?"
After rummaging through the closet, Cen Chudie asked. The room reserved for Feng Yuan and Qi Chen was a stand-alone guest house situated in the corner. Although there was only one floor, each guest house was a separate building, and each had a large garden in the backyard. The houses were not directly adjacent to each other but were separated by a small stretch of landscaped plants, with small wooden fences marking the private spaces.
A stone path outside the front gate led to the main complex of the Cotton Orchid Manor, while a dirt path in the backyard led to the riverside. This path had been treated by Spirit Beasts; although it appeared to be just a normal dirt path, in reality, even in a heavy rainstorm, no mud would form on the path, with only clean rainwater flowing down into the river.
Feng Yuan understood that the guest room was most likely reserved by Granny Mianlan before the start of their academy assessment. After all, these rooms were a hallmark of the Cotton Orchid Manor, typically requiring bookings about a month in advance. Thinking of this, Feng Yuan glanced at Qi Chen and asked,
"How about it? Want to call your parents and Xiao Shuang over as well?"
"There’s no need."
Qi Chen looked at Feng Yuan speechlessly. Qi Xiaoshuang was still in school; how could she possibly be called to take time off to come and play? And as for his parents? He felt his father was right; if they were here, they probably wouldn’t be able to fully enjoy themselves.
"The reserved rooms are indeed enough, but... you wouldn’t have much fun like that, would you? After all, I’m not used to bringing parents along when going out to have fun with friends."
Cen Chudie looked at Feng Yuan and said. In fact, she also went on trips with her parents every year, but she definitely wouldn’t invite them when going out with friends. It would feel too odd.
"Is a family outing not okay?"
Feng Yuan glanced at Cen Chudie and said, causing her to pause before responding,
"That’s not to say it’s not okay..."
Qi Chen stayed silent, without objecting. Although he didn’t know Feng Yuan’s true situation, he was well aware that Feng Yuan was alone. However, was the other person joking or serious?
Just then, Big Cat meowed and pounced over. Feng Yuan caught Big Cat and said,
"Have you had a rest?"
Big Cat rubbed against Feng Yuan, meowing as if trying to mime something. Agunas, standing by, interpreted,
"It said everything within the Data Domain has been taken care of, and now it can travel around with you."
"That’s great, I was just thinking about taking a good tour around Great Xia," Feng Yuan said excitedly as he looked at Qi Chen and scratched his head, then said to the other person,
"This... I’m not sure if I’ll have the time."
"If I’m free, I could go out and take a stroll with you, of course, we should invite Yanlan too."
"Don’t tell me you’re going to work during the holidays?"
Feng Yuan hugged Big Cat and asked, resting his head on Big Cat’s head. After thinking about it, Qi Chen shook his head and said,
"That’s not it, I’m just not sure if there’ll be something at home that will need my help."
"Oh, that’s a shame."
Holding Big Cat, Feng Yuan said with a look of disappointment, Cen Chudie glanced at Feng Yuan and said,
"How about I join you guys? I was planning to walk around Shenhua City with Yanrong."
"Shenhua City, huh... sure, that works. Just in time to check on it and see how it’s doing."
Thinking about the gluttonous Dreaming Dragon Baby, Feng Yuan smiled and said. Agunas flicked its tail and said,
"You could let Yimu Qinglong know so it can arrange accommodations. Better not stay in the Yimu Qinglong Tower, this time of year is a bit special. If you go there, you might be misunderstood by certain people."
"It shouldn’t come to that, right? Though, staying there really doesn’t have the vacation vibe—"
Feng Yuan thought for a moment then said casually. Veronia glanced at Agunas, who was silently checking something on their phone. Xiao Ji, on the other hand, seemed quite interested in going out, occasionally glancing at Feng Yuan.
"How about we go fishing first?"
Seeing Feng Yuan dressed in loose clothing and a sun hat, Qi Chen asked with some surprise,
"When did you bring these clothes?"
Because they only planned to play here for two or three days, although they brought clothes, Qi Chen was certain he had not brought a wide-brimmed sun hat, let alone the clothes with large patterned prints Feng Yuan was wearing, as Feng Yuan’s usual attire was rather plain and basically didn’t include large prints.
"It’s with Agunas, isn’t that odd?"
"You really are..."
Qi Chen looked at Agunas, not quite sure what to say to Feng Yuan. Had the guy really dared to treat Agunas like a Spatial Backpack? Wasn’t he afraid of making it angry?
"Fishing? Then I’ll go get the chairs. You guys head to the riverbank along that trail, I’ll be right there."
Hearing Feng Yuan’s words, Cen Chudie, who had just helped Qi Chen adjust his room, said. Seeing Feng Yuan look at him, Agunas spoke grumpily,
"You didn’t tell me to bring the chairs!"
"Hehe... I thought you’d have some."
Scratching his head, Feng Yuan said with a beaming smile, while Veronia hesitated for a moment and did not speak.
"Ah Mu is so awesome~"
By the riverbank, Feng Yuan praised Ah Mu. Qi Chen looked at Feng Yuan in disbelief and said,
"Man, would you stop messing with Ah Mu?"
"There are no sun umbrellas, and isn’t this just perfect?"
Looking at the enlarged Ah Mu, which was casting a huge shadow, providing them shade from the blazing sun, Feng Yuan said somewhat guiltily. At this point, Cen Chudie came over carrying beach chairs and said,
"Set up the sun umbrellas yourselves, whew, they’re really heavy."
After putting down the five beach chairs, Cen Chudie wiped her sweat, saying it wasn’t too heavy for her, but carrying the things a long distance under the harsh sun was indeed tiring. Feng Yuan stepped forward to pick up a chair and was about to ask something when he saw Yun You walking over, carrying two sun umbrellas, one under each arm. Seeing this, Qi Chen was taken aback—he hadn’t expected the delicate-looking Yun You to have such strength.
