Chapter 958: Chapter 959: Warship?
"You actually took a detour to come back?"
Gladys looked at Lanadi with some surprise and spoke. When she received Lanadi’s call, she was quite puzzled. Why had she come back? Could it be that she had really let go?
"There are some things I must discuss with him to understand clearly."
Lanadi said with a slight smile, her true motives known only to herself. Liao Yu watched Feng Yuan warily and spoke,
"We agreed that you’re granted authorization to use a special vessel to navigate the Mao Mu River, but you can’t summon Divine Beasts like the Kui Shui Xuanwu!"
He truly feared that Feng Yuan would cause chaos by bringing those Divine Beasts, which would surely complicate matters. The Divine Beasts already active in Maomu City were quite numerous, and if a few more were to appear, Maomu City might well become a hot spot for Hunters.
Of course, if there were too many Divine Beasts, the Hunters might not come there often to cause trouble, but any commotion they did cause would certainly be significant.
"Don’t worry, don’t worry, the Norek is just a large ship, not a Divine Beast. It won’t cause any trouble~"
Feng Yuan said with a smile. However, upon hearing that name, Agunas looked at Feng Yuan with a speechless gaze, knowing full well what that thing was. Bringing out that thing, which could be dubbed a super weapon, especially at a time when Great Xia was preparing for battle—what was he planning to do?
Seeing Liao Yu looking relieved, Agunas could not bear to tell him the truth, but probably, when Feng Yuan brought that thing out later, he would understand, wouldn’t he? With this in mind, Agunas scratched its head with its small paw and said something to Veronia, who looked at Agunas curiously, unsure of what it intended to do. But soon enough, Agunas explained its worries clearly, and Veronia, wordlessly, glanced at Feng Yuan, not expecting him to be so troublesome.
After thinking it over, Veronia nodded to Agunas, seemingly agreeing to its suggestion. Feng Yuan didn’t notice that Agunas and Veronia were discussing something and turned to Liao Yu saying,
"Speaking of which, you came directly in your uniform. Wouldn’t it be kind of... if you took the bus later?"
"What bus? I came specially by car. Don’t think you can run off."
He really feared that Feng Yuan could cause a ruckus even on a public bus, hadn’t that happened during the Nightmare incident? Although Maomu City was relatively calm at the moment, he didn’t dare guess if it would stay that way.
"Yo~ A car service~ Not bad treatment~"
Feng Yuan said with a mischievous grin. Agunas, wordlessly flicking its tail, followed Liao Yu to the parking lot, where he saw the minibus and Feng Yuan said with some surprise,
"You actually came in this vehicle?"
"What else? I was worried there would be too many people for a small car to handle, and we’d have to call others for help."
Liao Yu rolled his eyes and spoke irritably. Qi Chen looked helplessly at Feng Yuan, knowing full well how much trouble this guy had caused. Sensing Qi Chen’s gaze, Feng Yuan said discontentedly,
"Hey! I haven’t caused them any trouble, I’ve even helped them a lot. How can you look at me like that!"
Liao Yu sighed and said,
"You did help us a lot, but the chaos that’s arisen because of you isn’t insignificant either. It’s tough to say."
Indeed, without Feng Yuan, they probably would have a pile of backlogged cases, but it was also because of him that a large number of Divine Beasts appeared in Maomu City, leading all sorts of strange individuals to come forth. Perhaps those in charge of economic development were thrilled, but they were anything but happy, as this created a significant increase in their workload.
"Tsk, what does that have to do with me?"
Feng Yuan pouted with disdain, refusing to acknowledge that the recent influx of disorganized organizations in Maomu City had anything to do with him. After all, hadn’t the G Organization frequently caused disturbances in Maomu City even before that?
"Ah~ This breeze feels really nice~"
On the riverbank, Feng Yuan stretched and spoke. Agunas and Veronia exchanged glances, nodded to each other, and with a gentle wave of a small hand, a shadow merged into the earth. The surrounding light dimmed sharply then quickly returned to normal. Feng Yuan looked at Veronia with some surprise and said,
"You used the Mirror Image World? Why? There aren’t even any enemies here."
"Why else, with you around? Have you ever considered what would happen if a battleship were to suddenly appear here?"
Agunas glared at Feng Yuan, annoyed. That guy really did like to cause trouble. Scratching his head, Feng Yuan admitted with some guilt,
"It’s not going to be a big deal, right? It’s not like it’s a Divine Beast."
"Battleship?"
Liao Yu looked at Feng Yuan with some confusion. Was it just a battleship that made Agunas this anxious? Could there be something wrong with that battleship? Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan, who were more familiar with Feng Yuan, were somewhat helpless. Since Agunas placed so much importance on it, it was probably not just any ordinary object. Most likely, it was something special.
"That thing shouldn’t be a problem, right? After all, it couldn’t even deal with those small countries."
Lanadi was a bit puzzled. If it was just a battleship, it seemed like there wouldn’t be any problem. Such things weren’t uncommon in Great Xia, but they were only used for patrolling territorial waters, after all. Whether it was a battleship or something else, none of it was as handy as a Spirit Beast.
"That’s not necessarily the case..."
Agunas, exasperated, flicked his tail. Although Liao Yu and Lanadi were unclear about the specifics, that guy would probably bring out that thing soon enough, and then they would find out what exactly it was all about.
Feng Yuan patted Xiao Ji on the head and, looking towards the calm Mao Mu River, said,
"That’s good too. At least we don’t have to worry about accidentally crushing a tour boat~"
"Speaking of which, can that thing change size?"
Agunas looked doubtfully at the Mao Mu River. Although he had only seen it once during the Great Li Dynasty era, in his memory, the Norek was huge. Could this modest Mao Mu River really accommodate it?
"How could that be possible? At most, it could enter Subspace. But there’s no Subspace here, so why are you asking this?"
Feng Yuan looked at Agunas with some bewilderment, not understanding what he meant. Agunas, at a loss for words, flicked his tail and said,
"So, how do you plan to put that thing into the Mao Mu River? I remember that it’s pretty big; it shouldn’t fit in the Mao Mu River."
"Couldn’t I just alter the space around it?"
Feng Yuan said with a look of you’re-making-a-big-deal-out-of-nothing, then pulled out a pitch-black Ancient Book. After a while, a dark Space Gate opened, and the metallic sheen of the Norek slowly sailed out from the Space Gate. Qi Chen stood there, stunned, and murmured in surprise,
"This too..."
"Interesting."
Gladys looked at Feng Yuan with an indescribable expression. She could naturally tell that the object wasn’t from this world, but how did it come into Feng Yuan’s hands? Though Lanadi was somewhat surprised, she didn’t find it particularly strange. Unlike Gladys, she had seen all kinds of oddities within the Alliance; this kind of battleship was just ordinary to her, aside from being somewhat large and seemingly capable of flying.
Dou Yanlan looked at Feng Yuan with some perplexity. Although the man had a good relationship with the Divine Beasts, she hadn’t expected him to get hold of such a thing. This object, no matter how you looked at it, didn’t seem like it belonged to this world. Surely only the Divine Beasts possessed such things?
They didn’t know that, in fact, both the Alliance and the Divine Beast Hall had quite a few weapons from other worlds in their possession, and even within Great Xia, there were weapons from other worlds.
Liao Yu looked at Feng Yuan with astonishment, not expecting him to possess such a thing. As for where this thing came from? Considering that Great Xia itself had special flying craft being dismantled for study, it didn’t seem so odd that Feng Yuan, who had a good relationship with the Divine Beasts, would have such a thing.
Even the Jade Ruins had been studied by Great Xia and the Alliance in the past. That object was indeed from another world, and although it was unclear how it had fallen into this realm, because it had not been activated at the time, everyone had been unaware of the dangers hidden within.
"No wonder he did that."
Liao Yu said, somewhat resigned. If it had appeared directly before the public, there would likely have been an immediate outbreak of border wars, since none of them currently had a flying craft as large as the Norek. That’s right, seeing the Norek settle in the air, Liao Yu and the others were very clear that this thing was supposed to be a flying craft. Battleship? Pffft! That had to be a bluff to scare people!
