Chapter 907: Chapter 908: The Plan
"Done with it?"
Feng Yuan asked Lanadi, while continuously scratching Xiao Ji’s neck. After a while, Xiao Ji hummed softly and nuzzled against Feng Yuan, seemingly forgiving him. Beside them, Veronia seemed to want to say something to Xiao Ji, but unfortunately, Xiao Ji had no interest in entertaining her at the moment.
Glaring at Agunas, who was snickering nearby, Veronia huffed and turned away to check something on her phone. Najia nodded towards Yang Hongzhi, who was standing next to Feng Yuan, and asked,
"The matter here is already resolved, what about yours?"
"Heh, agreed already."
Yang Hongzhi, unable to hide a hint of envy, made Gladys and Lanadi somewhat curious. Feng Yuan patted Yang Hongzhi’s shoulder with a mischievous grin and said,
"You can go busy yourself with your training, and don’t you embarrass our Maomu Academy~"
Yang Hongzhi gave Feng Yuan an incredulous look and clenched his teeth as he retorted,
"I won’t be needing your concern, junior!"
Hearing how he emphasized the word "junior," Gladys covered her mouth and giggled,
"You guys are quite amusing, but have you finished with all the formalities?"
"No, can’t do it now."
Feng Yuan shrugged and said nonchalantly, but it was true – there were limited spots in the academy, and every academy had strict controls over student admissions. Without special circumstances, they wouldn’t allow anyone to bypass the normal admission process for special treatment. Besides, Feng Yuan wasn’t in a rush, given his abilities, where couldn’t he go?
"True, after all, the academies are the main source of Beast Tamers for most regions."
Lanadi smiled and added, indeed, many prestigious families also chose to send their members to academies across various regions. And because they typically had more opportunities to grow, the academies purposefully limited the enrollment of such families. Nevertheless, aside from the gifted commoners, the strongest students in those academies often came from these powerful families.
"That’s right; it wouldn’t be good if the academy was full of slackers~"
"Are you talking about yourself?"
Yang Hongzhi looked at Feng Yuan somewhat speechlessly. It wasn’t easy to just coast by in the academy; constant practical assessments and such were interspersed throughout, and ordinary people didn’t have the luxury to slack off. Feng Yuan was different – he most likely had already met the strength requirements for graduation, so he had no worries about failing any assessments due to lack of ability.
"Isn’t university supposed to be the best time to enjoy life?"
Feng Yuan paused and looked puzzled, to which Yang Hongzhi sighed and said helplessly,
"What are you thinking about? Who else has strength like yours?"
"Even me, I’ve only just met the graduation strength requirements. Cultural studies, on the other hand, are still a bit risky."
"You can’t pass cultural studies?"
Feng Yuan eyed Yang Hongzhi skeptically, who scratched his head and said somewhat sheepishly,
"Cultural history and the like are rather dull, so..."
"You could ask Najia to help you cheat; they won’t notice with the Divine Pact Maker’s telepathy."
The three looked at Feng Yuan speechlessly and said,
"A Divine Beasts contract isn’t meant for things like that, and don’t you think it’s shameful?"
"What’s so shameful about it? Cultural history isn’t necessarily essential for you to know."
The others understood; Feng Yuan wasn’t just talking nonsense – cultural history was mainly about Ancient Ruins. Except for those from the Mythical Era, other periods’ ruins weren’t typically lethal, but that wasn’t absolute. It was important to understand the origins of these Ancient Ruins before entering them, and sometimes, recognizing some peculiar objects from the cultural history could help identify their origins.
If they were from dangerous periods, one naturally needed to be extra cautious. However, this information wasn’t particularly useful for Beast Tamers who weren’t globe-trotters, as basic history of one’s region, or even one’s country, was generally covered in high school.
"Well... actually, Najia and I have decided to travel to other regions after graduation."
Yang Hongzhi said, a bit embarrassed. If it were before his contract with Najia, he would never have thought about it – the Divine Land Region was relatively safe, and places like Mordan were very dangerous outside the residential areas, and he wasn’t someone who enjoyed traveling.
"That’s quite a coincidence, I have the same plan – after graduation, I’ll take Xiao Ji and travel around the world~"
Feng Yuan said while hugging Xiao Ji, and Yang Hongzhi looked at Feng Yuan and said,
"I think you might start traveling the world even before you graduate."
"That... hehe~"
"He doesn’t seem to be wrong, the academy has a lot of free activity time, and you can definitely take it with you to travel during that period."
Lanadi nodded and said, the academy was quite different from ordinary universities – to ensure students gained enough practical experience, they encouraged students to go on adventures accompanied by upperclassmen. And who among the upperclassmen could be more impressive than a Divine Beast like Feng Yuan had? As for whether it was an opportunity to just go out and play, the academy only cared about the final assessment results; how you trained was not their concern.
"Alright, let’s talk more about it after enrollment."
Glancing at Xiao Ji in his arms, who was looking at him full of anticipation, Feng Yuan petted its head and said, and Lanadi smiled slightly and said,
"If you come to Mordan, remember to let me know in advance. I can help you arrange accommodations and such."
"I probably won’t be going to Mordan anytime soon; I’m more interested in visiting the Berost District. It is said that there they have preserved complete ancient architectural styles."
"The Berost District? That place indeed has a much better cultural environment than Mordan."
Gladys nodded in agreement. She had visited many regions, and she truly thought well of the environment in the Berost District. Although it lacked the primitive natural scenery of Mordan, it retained the architectural features from the Dynasty Era – if Mordan was a representation of a barbaric and primitive tribe, then Berost District was like a manor town from the Dynasty Era.
"The future Thousand Stars City will definitely not lose to them."
Lanadi said with certainty, Feng Yuan looked at Lanadi somewhat surprised and said,
"I thought you would say that the Berost District wasn’t good~"
Rolling her eyes, Lanadi said somewhat speechlessly,
"I’m not that arrogant. The Berost District is one of the few regions in the Alliance with the best development in tourism. I don’t have the habit of lying with eyes wide open."
"The Berost District? Seems like a nice place. I wonder when I could take a trip there."
Seeing Veronia peeking at him, Feng Yuan scratched his head and said,
"You could go there on your own, couldn’t you? Of course, if you’re not in a hurry, you can wait a few months. I figure in the second half of the year, one or two months after enrolling, I should be able to find the time to go out and have fun."
Hearing Feng Yuan’s words, Xiao Ji’s eyes sparkled with expectation as it looked at Feng Yuan, who petted its head and then turned to Big Cat and said,
"How about joining us then?"
Big Cat let out a pleased meow, and Feng Yuan turned to Agunas and said,
"How about you join us too?"
"Since you’ve invited me, joining you wouldn’t be bad."
Agunas said with his head lowered and a blush on his cheeks, and Veronia glanced at Agunas and said,
"That happy look you have is all over your face; why are you pretending?"
Glaring at Veronia, Agunas said discontentedly,
"What are you talking about nonsense for!"
"Who’s talking nonsense? Do you need to be so pretentious? If you’re happy, you’re happy. Why put on airs?"
Veronia said somewhat dismissively, watching them argue again, Feng Yuan no longer wanted to interfere. Seeing Feng Yuan looking his way, Yang Hongzhi shook his head and said,
"I’m afraid I can’t. Since I’ve already decided to participate in the Beast Tamer competition, I naturally have to do my utmost. After all, I’m not like you."
Feng Yuan was naturally strong to begin with, and he could always bring out a group of Divine Beasts as support – Yang Hong had exchanged ideas with him a few times and knew that if Feng Yuan really wanted to, he could totally bring in creatures like the Time-Space Divine Beasts to aid him in battle. Sometimes he wondered, if Feng Yuan were to participate in the regional Beast Tamer competition, what would the reaction be in the Omeilia Region? Protests, or?
"That’s true, deciding not to participate in the Beast Tamer competition was the right choice~"
Feng Yuan said proudly, while Agunas watched Feng Yuan somewhat speechlessly.
